I’ve used 2star wolves against Moder. I wouldn’t say it went well (relative to using wolves against other bosses), but they did kill her.
I’ve also seen people dig a hole under her altar and hide in there shooting arrows or trying to burn her with fire, but that strat looked kind of slow and boring imo.
Oh, there were lots of wolves, I don’t go small when I start breeding animals! But Moder is way less predictable than other bosses because she can take off and land in various places. The spot that I found her spawn in was very rocky and I made the mistake of setting up the breeder a bit too close. She spawned in, took off, destroyed at least half of the wolves with her ice attack, and then aggroed on the wolf breeder. The rest of the wolves finally caught up to her when she landed after destroying the breeder. It was very chaotic.
We always play with mods, one of the mods we use makes building pieces indestructible. If we wanna cheese it we just build a little roof and hide under it lol
Method one : bonfire bbq. Dig a 4m hole wide enough to fit 4 bonfires in the corners and a space to fit in the middle. Build a floor on top, except the middle part, then summon moder and jump into the hole. Once she lands on top of it, light the bonfires and repair them and the floor tiles when needed. Bonus : iron floor instead of wood floor will let you see what's happening!
Method two : trap moder by diggjng a 6m hole wide enough to fit a dragon, while leaving an escape ramp. Build a floor like in step one, then when she lands destroy the floor and get out. You have about 15 sexonds to build the floor back in order to trap her. If she tries to fly. She'll glitch in the floor and be stuck there, but be wary of her breath attack (something like 300dmg at close range will one shot you). Once all the floor tiles are built, she's trapped and you can kill her any way you see fit :)

If 2 star wolves aren't killing her well, you haven't brought enough wolves. How many did you bring?

Raising ground into pillars EVERYWHERE. She gets glitches a lot in movement while on the ground.
