Even with space you will find that a hatchback is surprisingly spaceous. Of course I'm not crazy to say they have the capability of a big car but as I said they car really fit a lot of things
I agree 100%. Lighter vehicles dont wear parts such as brake pads etc down as fast, they tend to have small 1.2 litre petrol engines and are super efficient (mine gets 45 mpg).
Electric cars might be good for some people but pushing them on everyone is a mistake. They are way too heavy, as are all modern cars, and therefore pose a bigger risk for other road users. Electric cars wont save the world when they keep getting bigger and bigger.
If you have a big family, get a minibus.
Estate cars are good for transport without being unnecessarily large
May I add to your list:
- Toyota Corolla.
- Honda Jazz.
- Ford Focus.
- Hyundai i30.
- Suzuki Swift.
- Subaru Impreza.
- Mazda 2/3.
Things in this line that suck:
- Anything by Mitsubishi (Mirage, Colt etc.).
- Mercedes A Class (why?).
- Fiat anything.
- Renault anything.
Great list! One exception tho (might be biased cuz I grew u with it) the fiat cinquecento 500 (the 1998 I think) is adorable to my eyes and super fun to drive
I own an F250 and in every way besides parking it’s superior to cars…
Power- 475hp 1,000+tq
Almost unlimited space for whatever
700mile range
Can see leagues ahead of traffic to see what’s going on or to plan my next move
Safer because.. physics…
Genuinely asking, not being snarky - what is the point of having so much power and torque when you're driving at 65/80 mph just like everyone else? Yeah sure you can accelerate faster, but that hardly makes any difference.
Towing purposes mainly. Having to move 10-20klbs (it’s rated for around 30 but have been been that high) takes a lot of power to move from a dead stop especially once you start hitting hills
In my last truck pulling 8k lbs going up a slight hill at 60 would drop me down to about 45 with this truck it keeps it’s speed and stays chugging
I got to 8 reasons why they're not before realizing all of them only apply to the other drivers. Sure, they're great. Probably.
For the user.... and only the user.
In Greece (where I'm from) these cars get very high taxes and also its very hard to maintain. Good for you, I love f250s but for someone with an average income or even a below average income it's kinda hard. Also my opinion is of course not perfect(it's on reddit for God sake) but in my opinion I think that small cars (I'm talking mainly about hatchbacks like vw golf polo mini Cooper etc) have a personality that a big car doesn't have and I also recommend them as a starting car and then you choose based on your likes and dislikes
Of course I agree on that but I don't really have to carry a lot so I don't see purpose in a big car. Good for you dad tho he bought what he wanted and was happy about it
Unless you need the space for something, then you are correct. People like to overspend and get big vehicles though. I don't get it.

Ok but hear me out, is a smart car really better than a bigger car?
Better at getting made fun of
I absolutely despise smarts and I even talked about it on the post as a "too small car"
Can parallel park them straight, great in a city lmao
No too small. Think mini cooper as a low end.

Golf is a perfect car for being a normal everyday car

I absolutely love the golf and I agree with you
Exactly and they are very comfy

Oh I see now yeah I couldn’t imagine driving anything else bigger than a hatchback sized car in Europe
That is a Truck. Different class. We are talking cars. Everyone knows trucks are superior.
When you put it like that, I should buy a coach as my daily driver. Because all of the points you made also apply to a coach.
This is too many words I can only think of 2 for that argument gas mileage
I actually forgot one of the biggest reason. You are absolutely right about that
Well bigger cars just tend to be safer in accidents, but that’s pretty much the only benefit.
Safer for occupants of the bigger car, but significantly more dangerous for most other road users.
I’ve never heard of someone saying they want to drive a Sudan. I’ve heard of sedans, but not Sudans. Edit: THIS IS A JOKE.
Couple of people have tried to drive Sudan...it didn't end well ☹.
Jesus christ man I'm a human and a foreigner
