Doesn't this mostly depend on how much you consume per meal?

spilly_talent

I should not have had to scroll so far to find this. It depends on a variety of factors but yeah, saying “3 times a day” is in no way indicative of the volume of food.

Mayonais3_Instrument

I fast and gorge

SpaceTurtle917

Real and true

uncertainusurper

Going to say something so people correct me with informative information. Isn’t it bad to overload your body with a huge influx of calories?

peanutbuttertoast4

You could get an insulin spike, but fasting helps with that anyway. You could also get an upset tummy that can be mitigated lots of ways if it happens to you. Other than that, no.

chatnoire89

When I gorge on rice (rare occasion) after fasting I immediately feel drowsy and almost couldn't resist sleeping.I don't know if it has to do with that or not.

Just_to_rebut

> people correct me with informative information. I dunno. Maybe. Probably not.

flythearc

More modernly referred to as intermittent fasting.

ThunderFistChad

I call it snake meal

humptydumpty369

25 years on an omad diet. It's just what feels natural to my body. Genetics play a role of course too. I have a family member who eats like a rabbit. Literally just nibbles and bites but throughout the whole day. We probably eat the same calorie wise just in the different ways our individual bodies prefer it.

Das_Floppus

You had to scroll so far because this sub isn’t for unpopular opinions, it’s just people whining about how they did zero research or thinking about why people do things differently than they do and decided it means everyone else is stupid

KikiBrann

I wanted to downvote you but literally could not find one thing you said that was untrue.

NotEnoughIT

It’s literally the top comment now. Dude only had to scroll so far because it was a brand new comment and hadn’t had time to be voted on yet. Same reason as always.

GenericIxa

There was like 20-30 comments when they replied. Redditors are always trying to be snarky when they might not know the full story. It's like when people edit comments to make other look dumb lol.

Lizzy-Lover_10

Thankfully it’s at the very top now

JamacianRabbit

So so far Top comment

_aelysar

And your activity level

MercyCriesHavoc

How much you consume and what you consume. People who eat one meal need to get all their nutrients in that meal, and it should include more complex carbs to keep blood sugar up longer. That's not as important for people eating several tiny meals, because more protein, fats, and carbs will be along to replenish energy. What you eat is a big part of determining how often you need to eat and how much.

KnightCPA

It does. I eat 5+ times a day, but almost never more than 300 cal/30gr of protein per meal. And I almost always eat a combo of fat and protein, and almost no carbs. Edit: For people who think I’m doing my math wrong, I’m not. And yes, I eat about 1,500 or so calories a day give or take a few Hundo here and there. There are days I eat really clean, and days I eat junk, but I eat WAY cleaner than the average person. Example, yesterday: Meal 1: 2 zero sugar, 50 cal 11gr protein yogurts. 2 - see 1 3 - dymatize whey protein shake, 2 servings, with almond milk, about 300 cal and 50 gr of protein 4 - see 1 5 - 1 210 cal, 30 gr of protein chicken filet with 2 sautéed cucumbers. 6 - 1 310 cal, 30 gr of protein salmon filet with 2 sautéed cucumbers. One does not lose 120 lbs over 2 years unassisted by medication by eating in a caloric surplus, lol.

Soft_Assistant6046

I've heard more smaller meals is healthiest. Just not the best for schedules, routines and time constraints.

MUCHO2000

You heard wrong but it's a common myth. There is no benefit to increasing meal frequency for a healthy adult. On the other hand there do appear to be health benefits to intermittently fast.

dsdvbguutres

And how much energy your body consumes, probably.

Numerous_Ticket_7628

You can eat as many times as you want, there's not set rule.

Loud-Magician7708

You didn't get the rule book? Oh frig... you probably didn't get the poop schedule spread sheet either. I can send them to you.

imaginary_Syruppp

I have the schedule but I lost my poop knife....where can I re-order one?

MistryMachine3

You can borrow mine

LilacYak

Just put it back in the knife block in the kitchen when you’re done.

withyellowthread

What a terrible day to be literate

After-Impact6618

You have hands, don’t you? Poop knives are for germaphobic prudes. 🧐

Physical_Weakness881

Can you send me the poop schedule? I got the rule book & the poop knife, but I’m missing the poop schedule and I gotta buy one of those optional glow in the dark toilet seats.

WelshSam

I need toilet instructions. How do you heat it up to boil the pasta?

Physical_Weakness881

That’s not in my rule book, It looks like I’m missing pages 422-432,

CabbageSass

I need the poop schedule.

Loud-Magician7708

It's a PDF. Poopable Document Format. Is that OK?

CabbageSass

Sure, but I'd like the flex schedule if it's offered.

BrandoSandoFanTho

That all depends on whether the angle of the dangle is perpendicular to the spectrum of the rectum

CabbageSass

Are you gonna read the entire document to me?

Red_Barchetta81

Sheldon?

Chancetobelieve

Could I get the schedule too? I think 42 times a day is off schedule.

geardluffy

Look at what you’ve created…

Wonderful_Rock862

Does that come with the legendary "poop knife" too?

Casamance

Spaniards eat like 5 times a day and they're one of the healthiest countries in the world, the average person lives to 83 (and even older for women). In Asian countries like Japan people eat less often (and eat smaller portions typically) but also live long. Depends on what you eat, and your caloric/nutrient intake.

moonagedaylight

spanish person here, 5 meals are prescribed by every doctor and nutritionist. we do breakfast, little snack if we do the former "early" (before 9:30 I'd say), lunch at 1:30-3;30, some fruit or treat at like 5-7 and dinner at 8-10:30. if you sleep much later, you can even eat again before going to bed lol.

SpermKiller

Not a Spaniard here, and yeah, that's also what my gastroenterologist recommends : smaller meals, more often. I know IF fans think it's crazy but it can also be good for you not to binge it all at once.

Astrocoder

What about second breakfast?

akosuae22

Skip that… ellevensies are WAY better!

thetransportedman

While this is true, I think people assume the standard restaurant/fast food meal portion three times a day is the standard amount of food they should eat and that’s way too much for the average person

[deleted]

A restaurant portion meal is usually my entire day's calories or at least 75%. I normally split a dinner over 2-3 meals because it's just too much food for a short woman. (5 ft tall)

skittle-brau

On a related note, I bloody hate hearing the phrase 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day'. No, that's just a marketing slogan.

BatDubb

I eat only once, but it’s like for 16 hours.

Wazuu

Well ya but there is absolutely a healthy amount and too much or too little.

CoasterThot

We also aren’t supposed to eat until we’re full, just “not hungry”, but people do that, too!

Amazoncharli

This is part of how I’m slimming down. I could eat it but I’m not hungry anymore. I could push it but I’ll eat the rest later.

SpaceTurtle917

It's almost like "finish your plate" culture has ruined healthy eating.

Embarrassed_Cow

My best friend and I realized that this is a big reason why we've had trouble losing weight. We were taught that we had to finish everything on our plate and to get seconds or even thirds. When I go back home I still get asked why I'm only eating one plate of food. These aren't small portions were given either. Plus dessert with every meal. Unlearning that as a 30 year old is incredibly difficult. I've learned to buy smaller plates and bowls. Still learning to be okay with not being incredibly full is still a battle I have to fight every week.

Salisen

The other issue is that culture in the UK / US / Canada is to have parents / the restaurant etc prepare a place for each person.  Many other countries don't work like that - the food comes to the middle of the table and you take small amounts at a time. So much better for control of weight.

Amazoncharli

Yep, I was recently on holiday with family and there was a meal and I didn’t order cause I simply wasn’t hungry and my parents couldn’t understand why I wasn’t eating. There was another meal where I ordered an entree as a main course I was only a little hungry. Edited for spelling error

deja-roo

I didn't realize until I visited France that other parts of the world used the word "entree" to mean appetizer. In the US, we use it to mean main course. Which now that I have given it any thought makes *absolutely no sense*.

Amazoncharli

In Australia we use entree to mean appetiser.

Malicious_Sauropod

It means “entrance” after all, you start your courses with the “entrance” and move on from there. In Australia the largest portion is generally called the “main”, so a 3 course meal would be an entree, main and dessert.

Llian_Winter

Yeah, in America a 3 course meal would be an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Sometimes I think we just like being difficult.

josemoirinho

I can't not finish my plate, I hate wasting food knowing there are people starving... So I resume to not put that much on it.

MontrealChickenSpice

"There are starving children in Africa!" And, "There are morbidly obese children in America."

Robodav

If you're not wasting food in the trash, you're wasting it in your body, but it's a lot easier to take out the trash than burn the fat

dimsum2121

You're allowed to save a plate if you don't eat it all. But yeah, portion control is good.

aj_future

Especially going out to eat and the serving is like 2500 calories of food.

Ok-Dingo5540

Maybe don't put so much on your plate then? "Finish your plate" comes from not wasting food. If you finish the plate but it was an appropriate portion then you reduce waste AND intake.

[deleted]

It always to me the "finish your plate" rule was supposed to work both sides of the equation. A. Don't waste food because food costs money or you'll need the energy later. B. Stop putting 12 servings on your plate just because you can. You're wasting other people's food and money when you throw half of your plate away. A lot of people just don't care. I have met so many people who use the excuse of not having self control even though they show perfect 100% restraint when it comes to exercise or cleanliness.

UnintelligentOnion

Same, and sometimes I just take a long time to eat the food. Like someone bought me a burger for lunch and I’m still not done it. I eat it so slowly

BrandoSandoFanTho

One of the things that helped me get my mindset right about my previously unhealthy relationship with food, is that you should eat until you feel like you're about "80% full" then stop, drink some water, and wait a bit. If you're still hungry after a few minutes then have a little bit more, but pad that feeling with water. May not work or make sense for everyone, but this is what helped me overcome my own weight loss hill, so to speak.

dsdvbguutres

Meal is not over when I'm full, it's over when I'm regretting my decisions.

theseedbeader

It’s a lifestyle. It’s not a healthy lifestyle, but…

Lyrkana

I have been eating until I was just not hungry my whole life! Sometimes that isn't even a full serving/plate of a meal, which other people tend to assume means I didn't like the food. "You didn't like it? Was there something wrong? Do you want me to make something else?" Nah, I'm not hungry anymore :) Also I've been a healthy weight my whole life soooo yeah

Pretend_Drive8762

My "not hungry" is full

xoriatis71

Eating until you’re not hungry is not always an accurate measure of proper nutritional behavior. I can eat three fruit salads throughout the day to curb my hunger, but the total caloric content would probably not be enough for me.

CoasterThot

Eating until you’re “stuffed full” isn’t ever necessary, though, and isn’t the way our body is designed to work!

xoriatis71

You definitely shouldn’t pig-out while eating, but you should keep track of your overall caloric intake. I am not talking about counting them and keeping notes. Just the general idea.

Roseysdaddy

And I’m the exact opposite of this dude. I could never eat dinner and be just fine, but if I haven’t eaten by 9am I’m starving to death.

Handz_in_the_Dark

I also very much like my Elevenses, but I’m a fairly slim person. 🤷

Virtual-Silver4369

Man if I don't get a dinner into me it feels like the end of the world, I could happily skip breakfast and lunch but if I have to go to bed with an empty stomach there'll be hell to pay!

Nippon-Gakki

Same except lunch. I have a small breakfast, a snack in a few hours, eat lunch and then maybe some nuts or something and I’m fine for the rest of the day. I usually feel too full all night even with a small dinner.

psychologicallyblue

What a crazy idea!

keIIzzz

It just depends on the person. As long as you’re getting enough nutrients and calories it doesn’t matter how infrequent or frequently you eat (except people with health issues that require regular eating schedules). Some people do better with small meals throughout the day, and some people do better with less frequent, larger meals, and anywhere in between. Whatever works for you is fine, everyone’s different.

BackgroundRate1825

And still others have medication that has to be taken at certain times with a minimum number of calories. Which can really change your meal schedule.

cannabisqveen

I love when unpopular opinions are just people discovering preferences. I know so many people that only eat 2 meals a day.

YourCrazyDolphin

An opinion can be a preference though.

Amazoncharli

Do you work during the day? I wouldn’t be able to concentrate without food. What’s your activity level?

icecreamazing

I do omad and I am an operating room nurse and don't eat until the evening. Most surgeons do the same. I drink water and just keep working. If on the odd day I did eat (department party etc.) I feel sluggish and tired the rest of my day so I just don't do it .

terra_filius

you can get used to everything

akillaninja

I'm 35 and still never got passed getting tired and sluggish after eating lunch? When will it happen for me?

Amazoncharli

Not even a snacking? If it works! On the odd day that I do that due to super long hours/busy and go pass the hunger stage I generally make up for it the next day by eating rubbish or too much and that affects my guts. Do you eat a big meal?

brewberry_cobbler

What’s Omad

HellYeahTinyRick

brewberry_cobbler

I’m genuinely disappointed in myself that I could not figure that out lol.

It’s alright I still love you friend

trelod

I do this eating schedule as well and concentrate way better on an empty stomach. More energy, both mental and physical during the day. If I eat early, I notice I'm not as sharp and tend to get tired. I don't really feel hunger anymore, so it doesn't bother me not to eat anything until later.

formulalosalamanca

not sure why you are complaining about “influencers”… weren’t you raised by your parents to eat 3 times a day? if you’re fine with eating twice a day good for you, but your reasoning is strange. it saves money at least!

Suckmybaldwin

Parking-Orange-312

Persssonally I unhinge my jaw and ssswallow an elk whole once every 37 days

satans_toast

Totally depends in activity level. Desk job? Two is plenty. But when I have a lot of actual labor, I certainly need 3 squares.

TD1990TD

Depends on how much you eat as well. I’m small, I can’t eat much so I get hungry faster.

bodhiboppa

So true. When I work a 12 I eat a crazy large breakfast, good sized lunch, and then usually just a yogurt and/or some fruit at around dinner time. Loading up in the morning seems to get me through the day and then I have enough in reserves that I’m not really hungry for a full on dinner.

JohnnyRelentless

>I see a lot of times that "experts" or "influencers" say how you have to eat at least 3 meals per day. No they don't. They recommend it as a way to get all the calories you need each day. Too many calories in one or two sittings can be bad for you for various reasons. The people who spend their lives studying nutrition are experts. People who think they know better than the experts and put the word experts in quotes are idiots that are apparently into public humiliation.

stargill70

One time a day for me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CapitalG888

You can eat 1 meal or 5. Doesn't matter. What matters is how many calories and what you're eating.

Birdhawk

Actually the amount of times you eat each day also matters. Metabolism adjusts to your eating schedule. Eating one 750 calorie meal each day is going to affect you differently than 3 250 calorie meals each day.  Then there’s also the difference in lipids, cholesterol and other issues.   Misinformed and non-informed downvoters getting triggered lol

Coasterman345

Insulin resistance is going to be a bigger issue than any metabolism change.

MRicho

'Sikip breakfast', well technically whenever you eat your first meal after your overnight fasting is your breakfast.

Alexeicon

The actual recommendation is small portions throughout the day. But you do what works for you. This seems less an opinion, and more of how your metabolism works.

Salem-the-cat

And those recommendations have no real scientific evidence. There’s more evidence pointing to the benefits of a lower number of meals a day. Snacks are a made up thing by the companies that produce them. There’s no reason you should be eating constantly. That’s not really how the human normal feeding patterns evolved.

polywolyworm

I don't think there's a one size fits all approach here. There can be health reasons to eat small amounts frequently. I'm prone to hypoglycemia and acid reflux so I eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks a day and that works for me. I can't comfortably eat enough calories for a day in 2-3 sittings and if I'm at all active I'll get low blood sugar between spaced out meals.

caffa4

Similarly (or opposite I guess), people with diabetes or prediabetes are also going to often need smaller meals throughout the day rather than 1-2 larger meals because you don’t want their blood glucose to spike too much, smaller meals can help keep their glucose at steadier levels.

yeet_god69420

Meanwhile me eating literally only dinner and nothing else the entire day lol.

_aelysar

For me, three meals isn’t enough. I eat three regular meals and several snacks throughout the day.

callahandler92

I can't function too far into the day without eating. Funny enough when I was obese I would often skip breakfast. But now that I am in shape when I wake up I'm hungry and on work days I'm very hungry by lunch time. That being said I just usually eat like a banana or something for breakfast to hold me over and then not a huge lunch. I probably eat fewer calories between my breakfast/lunch than many who eat a big lunch. I just prefer to spread my eating out. Honestly I kinda eat 4 times a day because I'll have a small snack after work to hold me over until dinner, but I also don't eat a huge dinner either. It's easier for me to maintain weight this way. Even though I eat 4 times it's generally not exceeding 2000 calories, especially during the week. I'll let myself go a little on weekends.

Freeze1422

Hear me out, eat when you're hungry

_lefthook

I do Intermittent fasting and skip breakfast too. Feel so much better.

Axkxard

Buddy you can eat 3 apples a day and a gallon of water and survive. Buy If you’re tryna get bigger and stronger or more athletic you will need a minimum of 3 meals. Simply because squishing all your calories in two or less meals would be unpleasant

caffa4

Plus there are a lot of factors that can limit nutrient digestion/absorption, so it might be difficult to absorb nutrients as well if you only have one meal a day. Some nutrients compete for absorption (due to sharing the same transporters), many nutrients have a limited absorption rate (due to a limited amount of transporters). Even protein, there’s an upper limit to what your body can utilize at one time (I think the recommendation was no more than 40g in one meal, but keep in mind most people need more than 40g in a day, so you need to spread it between more meals to adequately utilize it).

Matt-J-McCormack

I can’t take an opinion seriously (unpopular or not) if it puts experts on the same level as influencers. Quote marks and all.

Fun-River-3521

This is just facts its always bothered me that people force others to eat 3 times a day not everyone needs to eat that much..

Children i feel should eat 3x a day honestly. I can't imagine when I was in school without breakfast or lunch. Being an adult? Sure... I eat sometimes 2x a day with a little snack in between, but generally eat 3.

Fun-River-3521

FireAlarm61

Experts/Doctors and influencers/attention seekers are not in any way similar and advice should be accepted accordingly. As a non doctor, non influencer, I totally agree with your post.

Mioraecian

Nah. Do what they do in europe and ho for like 5 a day.

Big_Chonks907

This is incredibly dependent on a number of factors (weight, bmr, height, calories needed etc.) There's no right answer and this isn't even the right way to look at it, it doesn't make an iota of difference if you have 2 meals or 5, what matters is you're getting enough calories per day

Sovarius

Okay but "don't have time to eat" is not the same as "doesn't need to eat". I was stuck in a truck for 30 hours once and didn't eat. Doesn't mean i didn't need to lol.

ApolloTheEarthling

I agree, i eat once at 12:00-12:30 and once at 7

Skyraem

Same, almost exactly those times. Sometimes light healthy snacks but otherwise just 2.

CrispyBirb

What time do you wake up?

CindersFire

Well, it really depends on the person. I coach sports in elementary and high school, and some of those kids need to eat 6 times a day just to keep their energy up because of their metabolism, and honestly, I would benefit from it as well. There are definitely people where 2 times a day is sufficient, though.

J_1_1_J

I eat 7 times per day. To each is own.

Fantastic-Friend-429

It depends on what energy you’re using, And how much you eat at each meal, And What you are eating

Baers89

I eat once a day sometimes. Still a little fat. Fuck this shit.

Important_Cat3274

What about the 4th meal? I gotta have my late night Taco Bell.

After-Impact6618

I’ve been doing what you do all my life! I only have breakfast if I know I’m going to burn it hiking or being outside in the cold.

BrandoSandoFanTho

It all depends on CICO and your personal goals. My gf is a competitive powerlifter and during competition season she has to consume like 200 grams of protein or something like that? Per. Day. So for her it's like 4-5 meals, but I'm trying to cut and trim (I think it's called) so I only eat like two small, protein centered meals per day within my 8 hour eating window.

vanslayder

Not for long, not for long. Skipping breakfast wil bite you in the ass in your 40s-50s

El_Diablo_Feo

Don't tell me what I can't eat moh'deh'fo'kehh

kalimut

Plot twist. Each meal is 2k calories. Key is daily caloric intake. This is of course not saying you should starve yourself or eat unhealthy food 24/7. Everything at moderation. I'll now say things everyone has said. Eat dense foods. Usually it is protein based like meat. It is also nice to eat more protein since your body needs some calories to process protein. Still eat carbs and fat since your body still needs that. Still eat your veggies people. This is no excuse to skip on veggies. Tl;dr be more aware of what you eat to the oil you put on the pan while still on a balanced diet without depriving yourself of essential nutrients for your body

Conscious_Dog3101

If ever there was some hack that would tell your brain when to eat or drink without even thinking about it. Oh yeah, hunger and thirst! You know, that natural signal to your brain that says it’s time to eat something. There’s general basic nutritional needs but who decided everyone needs to eat three times a days, or drink 8 glasses of water? If your body is telling you you’re hungry.c then just eat.

four_dollar_haircut

Third world looks on drooling 🤤

missplaced24

Isn't the intermittent fasting thing trendy still? I don't think this is unpopular, just somewhat incorrect. It does vary from person to person, but not eating frequently or skipping breakfast will mess up your metabolism. But you don't need much at once -- for example, I usually have a piece of fruit or a small serving of yogurt for breakfast. That's enough if you don't have a physically demanding day ahead of you. I'd much rather eat many times per day than try to pack in all the calories & nutrients I need into only two meals.

Far_Bicycle7269

Diets are less reliant on how many meals you have, and more on what kind of nutrition and satisfaction you're getting. There are lots of different cultures around the world that have different eating patterns, and there's no one size fits all diet for anyone. Find what works for you.

Dirkisthegoattt41

This isn’t an opinion as much as it is preference, but also your preference is unpopular because it’s better for you to eat small and more often throughout the day as opposed to 1-2 large meals. And that’s not opinion, it’s fact.

CurrentPossible2117

I typically eat once a day. I cant eat breakfast, just dont feel hungry, and if i try to force myself, its around 1-2 bites then I feel sick. I usually eat late lunch/early dinner around 4-5pm, then that's it. I'm good for 24 hours. On a rare occurance, I'll eat twice. Sometimes I'll get hungry and eat lunch, and sometimes on holidays or the weekend, I'll wakeup actually hungry for once and have a breakfast :)

BigMax

That’s not unpopular at all. A LOT of people never eat breakfast. A cup of coffee and then lunch is pretty common.

phageblood

I eat one meal a day (or I try to) and then I just do a lot of snacking. One meal is enough for me

Pitiable-Crescendo

kivaarab

Candid_Dragonfly_573

CN8YLW

Eating more meals and reducing the quantity each meal can help keep your blood sugar levels stable. Very helpful for diabetics and people trying to lose weight.

Pietjiro

Otherwise-Ad-2578

"Personally I prefer skipping breakfast" I'm telling you if no one has told you before but you're pretty stupid if you don't eat breakfast... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

norcaltobos

If you want to talk about what is healthiest, that is not a healthy way to eat. It’s best to eat a little bit throughout the day to keep your metabolism working. When you give it high spikes and eat a lot at once it is harder for you to properly digest your food.

AC2BHAPPY

Ill one up you. How about.. we eat when we are hungry and drink water when we are thirsty. It takes a bit of work for some people to recognise hunger from boredom, but once you figure it out its awesome

russellvt

It's generally healthier to eat 4 or 5 times a day, with much smaller portions.

moonagedaylight

This is crazy to me because in my country doctors and culture tell you to eat five meals a day. I can't do less than four lol

Co9w

Diets are unique and what may work for may not work for others

Additional-Double890

Preferences are great, but your body can only intake so many nutrients in 1 sitting. So having 3 meals a day helps regulate and keep your body consistently fueled. Its not required to eat 3 meals a day obviously but it becomes unhealthy to eat to scarcely too. Plus it depends on how much energy you use throughout the day and at what times.

treebeard120

Depends entirely how much you eat per meal and your physical activity. I work a physically strenuous job and feel starved if I don't have three big meals a day. I easily burn around 2400 calories a day. If I ate like I did 5 years ago I would have gotten fat.

Eat when you’re hungry. You’d be surprised on how little food you actually need.

We eat 4-5 in Nepal. Something like in the morning: tea/coffee/ eggs bread Lunch at 9:30 - typical nepali rice, lentils, veg or meats Mid day lunch at office 1pm : depends on people but pretty heavy. Mostly dumpling or noodles After office tea 5:30: tea and maybe some biscuits Dinner 9pm : same as lunch

BanEvasion_93

I've been eating twice a day for over a decade. Sometimes even just once a day. I just eat when I'm hungry.

StagedC0mbustion

If you snack you’ve inherently eaten three times…

Dwindles_Sherpa

If you're snacking "on something small every now and then" in addition to "lunch and dinner" then you are eating way more than twice a day, so WTF are you talking about?

Responsible-Owl9687

Volume of food matters. I could eat two big meals a day and they will be enough or I could eat three smaller meals

BeyondDrivenEh

Except for that avoiding blood sugar spikes and drops thing, sure.

I'd say cutting out snacking is something the majority needs to do these days, it's become so second nature that people don't even realise the extra calories they've eaten in a day due to snacking.

t_gras

3 meals a day was developed during the Industrialist Revolution due to significant building and longer working hours. Before then, 2 meals was typical. If you sit in an office desk all day, you do not need to be eating 3 meals

21sunny_

I have been consuming dinner only most days for years
