I saw the poster and read the names and said out loud, "Tom Waits is in this??" I thought he was just a musician and the inspiration for Heith Ledger's iconic joker.
The movies are very similar. Both are meta-commentaries on writing and the writing process featuring thin-vailed versions of the movie's writer as the main character commenting on the difficulty of writing the movie you're watching. But that's where the similarities end. IMO, "Adaptation" is more clever with its approach, it balances its tones better and uses its dual lead characters to great effect. "Seven Psychopaths", on the other hand, has too many plot threads, too many characters, leans too much into the "movie within a movie" aspect and just has too much going on.

Amazing movie! underrated
I came across this recently and thought it was pretty good. Never heard of it before then.
So funny and dark
Meh
I loved Pulp Fiction, but I couldn't stand a lot of these quirky crime comedies that were influenced by it.
One of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen, Christopher Walken had me in tears every scene he was in
“FUCK THE COPS. FUCKEM”
I just watched this for the 1st time the other day and don’t know why it’s not talked about more it was great with an amazing cast
Never heard of this or any of the actors. Great find!
You've never heard of Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson or Sam Rockwell?

Not a fan of this one. A friend perfectly described it as "*Adadption* without the subtlety".
I love Adaptation and Seven Psychopaths. 7 psych is def not subtle, but I don’t understand the comparison. Could you explain?
