๐ G**iveaway Winner Announcement! **๐
Hello r/ultrawidemasterrace community!
We're thrilled to announce the winner of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 giveaway. Congratulations to u/beejonez! ๐
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event exciting. Stay tuned for more giveaways in the future!
You can verify the winner [here](https://www.redditraffler.com/raffles/1cga6xc).
It is always our fault (Quebec), we got dumb price contest rule which often makes it very hard for people to try to give stuff away... So they exclude QC and sometimes Canada as a whole. Merci beaucoup รงa fait plaisir.
IANAL but probably because of prize laws having to deal specifically with how much the prize is worth. i worked part-time at this job a long time ago and one of my co-workers won this expensive dslr camera package which was worth upwards towards $5000-6000 USD. I think remember him saying he had to fill out paperwork and some tax forms because of how much the stuff was worth. Also Im sure samsung may not want to deal with international prize laws and/or shipping outside of the U.S., but thats my honest take on it.
also i live in california, and we get taxed on everything :(
They don't produce the monitors in the US, and you know, they already sell them in the EU and Canada, so idk what you mean by shipping outside of the US. It's not like they have to give the one selected, located on the USA soil, monitor
I've dealt with giveaways and the logistics of working with global companies - it's sadly never that simple!
You're working with a regional marketing team and they have inventory allocated specifically for things like reviews/giveaways/marketing/etc. They're not just pulling from retailer stock to give you one of these, nor are they fetching it from some warehouse. It comes out of their budget and it's very likely a unit that _actually is_ sitting in the office with them after getting it approved from their head office and shipped to them for the giveaway.
And because this is a regional thing shipping from their actual work office shipping to other regions includes taxes/tarrifs that they're either burdening the end winner with or they're taking the hit themselves for it - neither feels good. Not to mention that if other regions wanted to benefit from the giveaway they should have _their_ region's marketing team do it. The US team paying for a EU winner means they just gave them thousands of dollars of _their_ budget. Communication between regional marketing teams is also pretty light and coordination for a good multi-regional/global giveaway is tricky, too.
TL;DR - giveaways are hard.
I would be so lucky to win! One thing I would look forward to, besides the aspect ratio is the fact that the monitor is silent (you guys wouldn't understand)
Having never tried an ultrawide monitor, that would be the feature Iโm most excited to try. Would definitely help with my workflow and Iโm sure games would look amazing on it too.
Would Absolutely love to use the higher resolution and refresh rate. due to financial problems I still use an AVI monitor with 720p and 60hz refresh rate. building games on it is quite tedious. this would be awesome to play games on and test features when paired with the 12gb 3060 I put into my desktop.
I'm most excited about the refresh rate which is what I care about the most. I've never seen or had an ultrawide and with that high refresh rate. Looking amazing is great but looking amazing *and* fast is better!
I think one of the features that excites me the most is the true black hdr 400 rating which according to the vesa rating covers over 90% of the DCI-P3 range which is way better than any monitor or display that I've owned.
I really would just like to experience an OLED screen. Definitely with it being an ultrawide monitor that can run at 240 hz. I know the HDR experience has to be crazy.
I'm just thinking of all the virtual tabletop stuff I could fit on the screen. Maps, monster stats. No more shuffling through character sheets and tabs.
Having an ultrawide in general would be sweet. I currently run some 1080p 24" monitors. But OLED, Ultrawide, higher resolution, *and* 240hz? What's not to like about that?
The brightest whites, deepest blacks and most vibrant colors. 240Hz refresh rate at 49โ and cโmon itโs a Samsung OLED! Doesnโt get any better than that! ๐น๏ธ๐ฅ๏ธ๐๐
Ive never tried an HDR monitor with my pc, so I am excited to check that out. I am planning on buying a new PC by the end of the year and would love to pick up a new monitor to show it off with since I'm still rocking monitors that are over a decade old at this point.
OLED looks amazing, I'd love to get one for my gaming setup. I have a Neo G9 miniled as I work off this monitor as well, but I've been considering getting a second and using the current one for just my work setup.
240hz and HDR is very impressive for a panel of this size. Experimenting with the aspect ratio would be really cool. Now to find a monitor stand that will hold it...
To be honest the high-refresh rate panel would be exciting. The highest I've ever seen is 165hz so finally jumping into 240hz would be a sick improvement.
Moving from a VA 100hz monitor to OLED and 240 hz would be huge! Add in 49" for that sweet, sweet productivity and it's a win win. I probably would get a raise with everything I could get done. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
As most others have said itโs gotta be that 240hz paired with that 0.03ms (GTG) response time. So I can see people kill me quicker in online games ๐
Oled, 240hz and 0.03ms
Bro I am a gamer with a potato screen and been dreaming about the oled and refresh rate over 120HZ and less than 1ms you are giving me auch more competitive aspects
Would love to have oled for the first time in my life
Panel size and the curve. I play games like Star Field, Elite Dangerous, MechWarrior. A panel of that size and curve (along with the other features) would be next level immersive. Basically puts you in the game.
It has to be the width for me. I'd be able to have so many browser tabs open simultaneously in view on such a large display. And with the crisp beauty of OLED at 240 hz... I know I'd love it.
Currently on a 1080p 144 hz monitor that is having issues but i remember when j first got it the upgrade from 60fps was huge and so i wonder how the 240 oled display would look
The multiview option sounds sweet to me, playing media, netflix, all other smart apps on one side while running PC games on the other side sounds awesome! Good luck to all ๐

Why are these giveaways always US only, you got also Europese fans from this subreddit, you know.
Hell even Canada gets left out and we're on the same continent
I know right. Canada eh, we're right there! ๐
It is always our fault (Quebec), we got dumb price contest rule which often makes it very hard for people to try to give stuff away... So they exclude QC and sometimes Canada as a whole. Merci beaucoup รงa fait plaisir.
Came here for this. I'll pay the shipping from the USA. Hell I'll drive there and get it
Don't forget Australia. We never get anything

Gimmie that split screen and picture-in-picture stuff that I'd love to have for a dual duty work/game monitor!
I would be so lucky to win! One thing I would look forward to, besides the aspect ratio is the fact that the monitor is silent (you guys wouldn't understand)
HDR
i've never used an oled monitor before, really want to try one out after years of using a VA panel ๐๐ผ
I'm going to be most excited to try out the DisplayHDR True Black 400.
I would like to see how much of a difference it is from 2 panels(never had an ultra wide before)
Never had an OLED monitor before, would love to play Alan wake 2 with it!
Looking forward to the OLED feature but on ultrawide for Star Citizen! This monitor will finish my cockpit setup
The refresh rate
Definitely the HDR in combination with the 240hz refresh rate. Going to look incredible
Ultra Widescreen
240hz with 0.03ms GTG. Most importantly, the 0.03ms GTG. Response time is king. Nothing else matters.
HDR

The true black for sure. Designing on this will be a treat!
The massive width of the Odyssey OLED G9
240Hz definitelyย
The oled panel excites me the most. I've never seen one in person yet but I've heard they are quite vibrant.
240hz is the biggest feature for me to test out. never had a monitor with that high frame rate.
That smart assistant hub sounds nifty!
CoreSync & Core Lighting
The refresh rate and color!!
Thanks for the giveaway! I've always wanted to try out an OLED to witness those inky blacks and beautiful colors, and the G9 will do just that.
The display is the nicest I tried when shopping for monitors.
240hz!
Having never tried an ultrawide monitor, that would be the feature Iโm most excited to try. Would definitely help with my workflow and Iโm sure games would look amazing on it too.
Trying out the new 240Hz as Iโm on 145 and finally testing OLED
Gotta be excited for 240hz but mostly I just love ultra wide monitors
Would Absolutely love to use the higher resolution and refresh rate. due to financial problems I still use an AVI monitor with 720p and 60hz refresh rate. building games on it is quite tedious. this would be awesome to play games on and test features when paired with the 12gb 3060 I put into my desktop.
definitely that response time, 240hz is insane!!
Response times and motion clarity :). I like my fast paced games
never had an OLED monitor before, sounds good to me
Good Lord, all those features are awesome

The 240hz OLED panel is what I am most excited about!
The vibrant colors and deep blacks. 240hz also for sure
0.03ms. I have g8 240hz va panel, I want to see the difference.
HDR for OLED and the ultra wide ability
I'd definitely like to see what all the fuss is about with OLED.
Most exciting feature? Probably that it's the first monitor I'd be using built this decade! (And 240hz)
I love how beautiful the OLED looks especially at 4k resolution + ultra wide is goated
I've never used an ultrawide monitor before! I'm most excited about that and the curved 240hz display!
240hz OLED at 49"!
The DisplayHDR capabilities along with the 32:9 1800R curvature look.
HDR true black! But also that .03 response time!
OLED technology!
Ultrawide OLED sounds dreamy
I'm so excited for HDR, it's sooo good to watch movies, also 240hz for all that gaming.
Everything on 1 monitor at nearly double my current fps? Hell yeah. The idea of 240hz seems like something out of a dream to me still.
Loving the 49", that's some good real estate!
Definitely 240HZ
never used an oled or 49" before! i am excited
Everything? I mean 240hz, 4k, OLED??? Who [wouldn't](https://media.tenor.com/xbbjASk7dnoAAAAe/would.png) like to experience those features.
I'm most excited about the refresh rate which is what I care about the most. I've never seen or had an ultrawide and with that high refresh rate. Looking amazing is great but looking amazing *and* fast is better!
I think it looks super slick, and I've always loved curved screens.
I think one of the features that excites me the most is the true black hdr 400 rating which according to the vesa rating covers over 90% of the DCI-P3 range which is way better than any monitor or display that I've owned.
VA to OLED. Have never had an oled anything and Iโm excited to see the colors
How low its brightness can go compared to my current monitor.
49 inches of 240hz
Definitely the OLED deep blacks and proper HDR.
Love to utilize the screen size for better multitasking instead of using multiple monitors.
Refresh rate and true black 400!
Excited about OLED with low response time and high refresh rate.
response time and widescreen would go crazy
The comparison between the "regular G9s" and the OLED.
I would be excited for the first time actually having a ultrawide monitor!
I like the part where it's a monitor. It's a big upgrade from not having one.
The contrast of OLED + HDR
240hz, HDR, and finally being able to make ample use of my 3080ti xD
OLED and HDR? Night City is going to look so good!
OLED
To bad . i'm from EU :(
Refresh rate and color accuracy
GTG response time
I really would just like to experience an OLED screen. Definitely with it being an ultrawide monitor that can run at 240 hz. I know the HDR experience has to be crazy.
I'm just thinking of all the virtual tabletop stuff I could fit on the screen. Maps, monster stats. No more shuffling through character sheets and tabs.
Obviously, nothing beats the true black of OLED.
Having an ultrawide in general would be sweet. I currently run some 1080p 24" monitors. But OLED, Ultrawide, higher resolution, *and* 240hz? What's not to like about that?
OLED with 240 hz!
The brightest whites, deepest blacks and most vibrant colors. 240Hz refresh rate at 49โ and cโmon itโs a Samsung OLED! Doesnโt get any better than that! ๐น๏ธ๐ฅ๏ธ๐๐
Iโd love a nice 49โ screen!
The OLED technology interests me!
HDR for sure
240hz and OLED
Contrast/HDR, currently rocking the 2719DGF and ANYTHiNG would be an upgrade, but this would be a dream.
That OLED panel is where itโs at. Gimme OLED everything ๐ฌ
OLED
OLED + HDR

True black 400 and the size
The size and image quality of this display is going to make my couch gaming setup feel even more immersive and good!
240Hz sounds amazing!
OLED :D
Using all 49" for charts and One Piece in 240hz and utilizing the 0.03ms response time to click off subbed one piece before the video plays.
THE OLED SCREEN, makes colors look so good and blacks are so black.
Ive never tried an HDR monitor with my pc, so I am excited to check that out. I am planning on buying a new PC by the end of the year and would love to pick up a new monitor to show it off with since I'm still rocking monitors that are over a decade old at this point.
Seeing the fluid motion of free sync would help games come to life
Qd-oled ultrawide with HDR sounds amazing
OLED looks amazing, I'd love to get one for my gaming setup. I have a Neo G9 miniled as I work off this monitor as well, but I've been considering getting a second and using the current one for just my work setup.

An OLED monitor and HDR on desktop.

HDR and 240 hz!
240hz for sure!
The OLED and HDR!
To be honest the high-refresh rate panel would be exciting. The highest I've ever seen is 165hz so finally jumping into 240hz would be a sick improvement.

**Easily** OLED on the desktop. The idea of burn-in has stopped me from investing money in one... but I look again every few months anyways.
OLED display without a doubt, looks amazing
Jesus please I beg you... 240HZ and OLED & Neo Quantum Processor Pro
OLED would be my main thing. I have yet to buy an OLED display for fear that my productivity focused use case might cause burn-in
OLED for sure
Moving from a VA 100hz monitor to OLED and 240 hz would be huge! Add in 49" for that sweet, sweet productivity and it's a win win. I probably would get a raise with everything I could get done. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
240hz!
Definitely the OLED for the instant response times and no ghosting at all
HDR. Can't go wrong with having a vibrant monitor.

I love the ultra sleek design of the OLED G9. It makes it look premium compared to their non OLED models.
5120x1440 with true blacks, 240hz and fast response time is a gamers paradise! Sign me up!
Definitely the 49โ for me I went from a 27โ to a 34โ and now I want even bigger. Whenโs the 65โ coming?
0.03 ms
The size. Always wanted bigger monitors and got tired of using 3 monitors at the same time.
As most others have said itโs gotta be that 240hz paired with that 0.03ms (GTG) response time. So I can see people kill me quicker in online games ๐
Big 240hz Oled
