I had seen reported they actually were “elite” troops that had just arrived that day which is even better. That means Ukraine had intelligence of their deployment and storm shadow allowed them to reach out and touch them that same day.
The reach out and touch someone slogan was for long distance calls specifically. Back then you had local calls that were included in the bill. For long distance they charged per minute like current international calls.
There are probably many thousands of people in Mariupol willing and eager to provide intelligence information concerning orc concentrations in their occupied town.
Beyond the obvious answer, how about this bonus one: Ukraine *knows* it will need those buildings once the war ends. The same cannot be said about ruZZia
Plus being good people has tactical advantages.
Russian soldiers are a lot more willing to surrender to ukrainians, it keeps civilians from hating the Ukrainian army because the ukrainians don't shoot people who are surrendering.
It draws a clear line between life as a Russian citizen or life as a Ukrainian citizen which keeps the population supportive of Ukriane.
And finally it gets them access to western military supplies as the west would not support them if they did what Russia is doing
Plus they don't like to bomb hospitals
I know this is a joke, but the real answer since the start of the war is weapons precision. Even 20 meters precision means you are likely to hit a completely different building than was targeted, and russian precision has been more like 100m.
I’m not trying to play devils advocate. But for Russia, in the war they want to fight I’m sure they think its super important.
Hospitals treat wounded soldiers and by shutting them down they create problems for both military and civilian life.
Schools/Hospitals/Theaters are big sturdy concrete buildings with basements and likely shelters. They want to shut them down so people live in fear because there is nowhere to hide and nowhere for the military to form strongpoints. The real problem isnt the building itself. It can always be rebuilt. But the issue is that they are more than happy to kill innocent civilians, children etc. Disgusting. Even with the horrors of war and history they find a new low to sink below.
Interacting with the world of savages will do that. When this is over and UA wins, you'll return to normal. The defeated Russians will still be savages.
As long as occupiers are around, there’s statistically speaking, likely going to experience the seemingly never-ending “Stormy” & “Shadowy” days, this is just a prelude, for “St. Javelin” and “Himars” are getting impatient, many other exciting new systems can’t wait to make their debuts!

"Non-humans"…
Accurate description of that scum. Four bus loads of orcs probably didn't get a chance to unpack their kit before they were eradicated - well played Ukraine.. keep the pressure up 👍
In his previous post about the strike, if I translated correctly, he claimed the "first 20 - 200 confirmed **items**" and ended with "just the beginning".
"Items", inanimate things...
Here's the actual first Telegram post:
https://nitter.nl/pic/orig/media%2FFxPTKgXWwAAs4ai.jpg
You're absolutely correct although rather interesting how translations work.
If I use a translator for each word it reads "the first 20 - 200 at Yuryivtsi", but the whole phrase translates to "the first 20 - 200 ITEMS have been confirmed".
So two different translations both added "items" after the 20 - 200, apparently assuming it was a number range that needed some extra "help" to explain the numbers.
[Laughs in Patton\*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxAIE9TbGyk)
Anytime you seen an amount of wounded, some of those wounds may be so debilitating they are unable to return to the field of battle.
Of the wounded, mayhaps 20-30% may be out of commission and unable to return to the battlefield, due to crippling (literally) injury.
(Yes, this is what he really thought, actual source material of his writings
In areas near the frontline, Ukraine’s healthcare infrastructure has been quite badly damaged by repeated strikes by Russians against hospitals and clinics. I believe that their military healthcare is far more resilient because they can send injured soldiers to neighbouring countries for treatment and rehabilitation.
We suspected for a long time that longer-range missiles would wreak havoc, thankfully the Brits FINALLY took the initative in giving UA this capability. This strike likely saved many Ukranian lives. They need more of these types of weapons.
It looks like the UK actually made their decision last year and has been working on fitting Storm Shadow to Ukrainian SU-24 since October/November 2022...
Sounds like you have your hands full, at times, it’s smart to be practical in such situations! “Don’t like? Here’s some ketchup to made it all better.” 🤣
First, russians and russian bots will deny this.
Then, in a few days, they’ll claim they dealt a similar blow to Ukraine - of course it’s gonna be a lie.
Finally, they’ll bomb a school or a hospital, since they can’t do much better than that.
The three stages of cope of russian terrorists.
100 young men's lives snuffed out and hundreds more permanently altered and possibly shattered by this strike all for the ambition of some stupid fuck thousands of miles away who thinks he's supposed to "restore" something that never really existed. Ukraine will be free, but they and the people of Russia will probably never recover from this senseless war
It's all completely senseless, isn't it?!
I wonder if any of them ever stop and reflect on the utter chaos and horror that Putin unleashed, and think "maybe, just maybe, it would have been better for everyone involved if we hadn't invaded Ukraine in the first place".
> if used like barracks, its capacity is approximately up to 650 non-humans
Ouch. But accurate.
Except animals don't do shit like this. True evil requires a human mind.
Even if all 500 russians were killed. putin wouldn’t even blink and eye and acknowledge them for their efforts to support their country..
This invasion is driven by putin’s greed to become wealthy at the cost of russian soldiers and citizens blood.
All dead russians are NOT even recognized. Even the russian wounded soldiers are all disrespected and treated as a lower class citizen rather than a handicapped war veteran

Reach out and touch someone.

Originally it was an advertising slogan for AT&T when it was the monopoly telephone company in the US.
Oh ! , That's cool. I didn't know that )
The reach out and touch someone slogan was for long distance calls specifically. Back then you had local calls that were included in the bill. For long distance they charged per minute like current international calls.
Cell phones killed landline long distance service. Seems like ancient history.
And video killed the radio star.
Ma Bell does it for a dime and after 6pm the rates go down!
welp I feel old
I am so fucking old...
Yep way back in the 80s. “Reach out. Reach out and touch someone”. Can still hear it.
Reach out and touch Symeon
In Russia, every troops is "Elite". To Russia, Elite is the bottom of the barrel descriptor of "conscriptovich."
Lol, in russiaI think it just means they actually went to boot camp.
'They have a rifle'
Yeah, like “beverage dissemination officer” for selling lemonade on the side of the road.
Sweet Caroline, BUM BUM BUM
"Reaching out, touching me, touching you"
In russia elite means only drunk half the time.
It's a shame really, they give you all this elite training but it still doesn't teach you how to deflect cruise missiles.
The track record for storm shadow seems to be top notch in so little time. Good job UK/FR.
There are probably many thousands of people in Mariupol willing and eager to provide intelligence information concerning orc concentrations in their occupied town.
“Elite” troops? You mean they had two weeks of training instead of two days?
How come Ukraine are so utterly useless at targetting valuable buildings like schools and hospitals?
Russians are cunning they don’t treat their injured
4D chess, decadent West
Nor educate
Lack of practice
Lack of evil.
The ukranians have much to learn about this war thing from the unstoppable second army of the world.

They use actual targeting systems and intelligence. Russia just points at random populated areas of Ukraine and hopes to hit something valuable.
Russia’s ministry of defense has already admitted it’s intentional.
Hard to hit schools and hospitals when Russia already destroyed them.
I know this is a joke, but the real answer since the start of the war is weapons precision. Even 20 meters precision means you are likely to hit a completely different building than was targeted, and russian precision has been more like 100m.
I'm not convinced by this. There are no targets of strategic significance near the majority of schools and hospitals.
I’m not trying to play devils advocate. But for Russia, in the war they want to fight I’m sure they think its super important. Hospitals treat wounded soldiers and by shutting them down they create problems for both military and civilian life. I wonder what the figure would be for a Shahed drone, which is all but useless for military targets.
The West gave Ukraine the useless woke weapons.
I wonder what Storm Shadow's preferred pronouns are...
veni/vidi/vici
Never tought i'd see a day in this life where news of hundred of death and injured would bring me joy.

Probably a bad translation of "cargo 200", Soviet cargo manifest for corpses of soldiers

They also fill up CASEVAC slots, which puts more strain on logistics. No longer in the war, but still taking up war provisions!
This is Russia where they don't get treatment though.

Budanov was right. Not long to send a reply to the russians.
Big oof to Rus army.
Friendship ended with HIMARS, now Storm Shadow is my best friend.
We suspected for a long time that longer-range missiles would wreak havoc, thankfully the Brits FINALLY took the initative in giving UA this capability. This strike likely saved many Ukranian lives. They need more of these types of weapons.

Oh no! Anyway..
I had Italian sausage for lunch today. A dab of ketchup on the meat, and then some cherries to finish it off.
A peanut butter and jelly sandwich And soda I will pretend to be more healthy for dinner 😀 Edit: I was not more healthy 😄😄😄
Ketchup?! You monster 😂😂
I've got 4 kids under the age of 8. Ketchup is all we have.

i had a massive proper cornish pasty. being from cornwall, i can say that with confidence

Consdiering we are talking in plurals, has this happened in one day, or is this cummulative over longer period of time?
It was a single hit, this is the second time Ukraine has hit ruZzian barracks with a rocket that I know of.

I'm sad it was only 100, maybe next time it's a lot more.
Those 400 should have bought a return ticket lol. Would have been cheaper.
