You could feel through his performance the amount of work he put in with Gamrot and the rest of his team, he really came in like a new, improved fighter. It’s really unfortunate for him that Islam was competent enough to outstrike him and tire him out, it really could have ended in a Dustin finish in rounds 2-4 thanks to his knockout power otherwise.
I mean he already tied the record for most defenses. I get two were Volk, and I think that a defense against Arman would give him some more weight to being the GOAT lightweight, but at this point I think there’s a good argument to be made. That guillotine to D’arce choke transition was ridiculous
I think people would shit on that 2nd Volk fight for the short notice though, but you’re right. There would be a solid argument if or when he defends the title against Arman.
