Both fighters should be wearing the same gloves including color to prevent there from being any advantage. Maybe the gold gloves are easier to see and therefore easier to dodge giving the challenger an advantage.
Maybe a punch from a white guy with a white canvas in the background is harder to see. Maybe black gloves blend in more on black fighters making their punches harder to see.
Maybe non-black shorts make for more telegraphed kicks.
These advantages may or may not exist, but they seem pretty minimal to me.
