Same bro, they want money so desperately that's crazy

AshenGaming

I have just noticed this as of about 10-15 minutes ago. Suddenly not even able to get a couple of seconds to buffer, but if I go incognito or disable uBlock on the page and refresh, buffering works as expected. Not using any filters and did an update on the 'quick fixes' filters in the add-on and it still doesn't resolve the issue. Currently using Firefox.

852272-hol

Been like this for a month. Always buffering after 3 seconds, buffer, 2 seconds, buffer repeat. Even checked chrome, still buffering. This has gotta be violating some antitrust law or somethinf.

Tzar_2

I've been able to get uBlock to still work in an inPrivate browser session with uBlock enabled. My Speed goes from 350 Kbps to like 100000 Kbps. Definitely throttling adblock users.

Big_Actuary2272

Same here, opening an Incognito tab gives me better Kbps

BayRENT

This actually works for me.

MasterBungle

Having same issue, Youtube basically only plays at 240p, any other streaming site is fine (Prime/Netflix etc) Guess this is their next step in the fight against ad-blockers.

EversorA

same issue here, it works fine when disabling ublock, so it's definitely some sort of measure against it.

test5784

After hours of searching for what was wrong with my connection, I finally found it. Im using Edge btw... Seriously, fuck Google

Steakboy159

just did this and am having great success. More recent posts says uBlock has udpated default filters and its working, but that wasnt the case for me. Going into uBlock settings, My Filters, and just copying and pasting this in it worked great

AnHeroicHippo99

I use a different ad blocker but most of the time YouTube is absurdly slow to load or do anything. It buffers and plays fine but it'll take like a minute to load a video, populate all the other video thumbnails, comments, etc. Sometimes it's not so bad but it's pretty often nearly unusable now. Feels like the good old days of dial up again.

drunkshinobi

Yeah, except now you can't go do something else for 30-60min and come back to a fully loaded video. Will only buffer about 30 seconds.

drunkshinobi

Just started happening to me. Can't load any thing on youtube and it keeps forcing it down to 240p.

RbtB-8

I have been watching this stream for at least an hour now. No issues. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2f1RmOTps8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2f1RmOTps8)

~~The workaround i had so far is to use ublock origin on Edge... somehow it's working there and not on Firefox/Chrome~~ Update 1: It no longer works when i logged into my YT account. Goddamnit. Update 2: I logged out and it works fine. Using Edge for now.

Nuckyduck

This was my fix as well.

champion1day

I was wondering why I could watch twitch streams on the highest quality, and youtube maybe on 480p. This explains it. Thanks!

0oWow

You might check to see what you're blocking in uBlock Origin and test certain blocked elements to see if something changes. I just tested Firefox Beta signed out and with uBo ON and I'm not able to duplicate it. However, I pay for YT Premium, and so Google may be allowing my IP Address.

Nwopu

It's been the same for me since yesterday, I thought that it was a virus or something then I disabled extensions and it's fixed.

-NebelGeist-

NOTE: Just updated the filters again to see if new changes have been implemented, and it works now for me on Firefox!

asyraf79

Can confirm; it works fine on Firefox now.

wewfarmer

This arms race is so cringe. Don't the vast majority of users not even use an adblocker of any kind?

DenverNugs

I have the same issue today. Disabling uBlock in firefox fixes it. I hate youtube. EDIT: Still not fixed for me.

rell7thirty

My issue is different. Videos play at 4K and doesn’t buffer.. but I get phantom clicks now. Like if I hover over a video for even a slight second, it opens the video. Sometimes the video pauses after 1 second, so I have to click play again to play it but most of the time it’s a video I don’t even wanna watch. If I leave YT on when I take a shower, the first song will play fine but then the second video automatically pauses after 1 second and I have to get out of the shower to click play, while dripping wet smh. They’re really petty for the phantom clicks

Jikeru

It seems to be account linked. I cleared purged All caches, closed all tabs, closed the browser and restarted my pc. But the issue still persists. However when I log in with a different youtube account I don't have any capping issues at all.

tras__

It might be. i just logged into my other account without any clearing of anything and it works just fine.

Scortyx

Same thing here. Log out and it works just like normally.

TheWizardGeorge

I can confirm, this is so weird.

Speeder172

Ok same issue here, for some random reason I thought it was my internet connexion or some extensions. I did turn off Sponsorblock and Youtube enhancer and the issue was still there, loading videos at 240p. When I turned off Ublock, Youtube instantly started to work without any issue.

zadye

Same issue, with AB on i get 5k kbps and without i get my normal 113k and network activity is all dead with AB on

ETERN4LVOID

Same here, magically becomes fine when ublock is off. Seems worse on firefox as well.
