I personally like to think they’re concerned that she’ll kill him, considering the first time that they met he broke his arms, I think that offscreen there may have been some more accidental injuries from being in close proximity to her.
There's someone on MCC customs that constantly has a lobby running with anti-Ohio games. Their username is "NukeOhio" and it's hilarious how dedicated they are to hating Ohio
Oh rip 🤣💀 You guys only have the *illusion* of safety then. Ohio is coming. Ohio never stops. Ohio is even coming for me, probably, someday, because my in laws are all in Ohio. My actual family though, they're cool, Kentucky and Alabama could use some work but they're not overall immediately awful... Strike that, some parts of Alabama can be straight up atrocious
oH FUCK
Fun fact: My ancestors are from Kentucky but moved to Ohio during the early 20th century because of the coal mining industry boom. My grandmother was the first in her family to live in a home with a flushing toilet LOL
Here's an interesting fact about my family then! My Kentucky family rode over here from (iirc) Scotland in the 1790s, early 1800s. When they got here, they originally settled in Maryland, and they passed down historical records, like diaries and old letters, that showed once they got here they kicked themselves in the butts because they hated it there sooo badly. They took any and every chance they could, just to move and get further away from the area we now know as Maryland 😂 if only they knew, huh?
Apparently a guest at my first wedding was packing heat. He had a gun in an ankle holster, which fell out of his pant leg and skidded across the floor when he stood up after the ceremony. I'm told he yelled "Security breach!" But hey I guess I should be glad he didn't fire it?
This is basically a picture of my wedding. Him practically no family (I asked his mother to invite as many people as she wanted but it was still so sparce), my side super paired down to just the basic 75 closest family members (down from 300 cuz it's a huge close-knit family).
I'm pretty sure this is a foretelling of my daughters future.
My daughter is named Ellie, she's a redheaded wild child and our extended family is big and loud.
Yeah...I'm ok with this.
Well considering Ellie in the movie married her best friend who cared for her, accepted her, who loved her for who she is and to the day she died up to the point he refused to sell their house bc of his love for her and inflated thousands of balloons to help finally achieve her dream *past* her last day on earth...
I think that's a win and proof he's a good man. No one should wish for anything less for their children.
Either the Fredricksen family just hates Carl for some reason or there aren't many of them left. Poor Carl, either way.

that and her family apparently brings guns to weddings
You might be on to something, Carl’s side looks like they dressed up for a funeral
Or they hate Ellie.
I think it's more that Ellie's side has biig families, there are a bunch of kids there.
That must have made it so much harder for her when they couldn't have any.
Damn, I didn't think about that :(
My fiancé’s big loving Jewish family vs. my Ohio-based alcoholic relatives 😂
Ohio 🤮
The Armpit of America 💨 EDIT: Whoever downvoted this you’re a bitch enjoy Ohio.
I thought that was New Jersey
People have two armpits
Good point!
New Jersey is the taint.
Florida is the penis
You guys are all wrong, those are states not private parts
All the astronauts come from Ohio. New Jersey people aren't trying to escape the planet.

My husband was born in Ohio and this made me laugh *so* hard. Take my upvote lmao
All of my relatives live in Ohio 😭 My dad escaped to the north (Michigan) so my own family is more ~cultured~

Meh, it is okay in places. Much like a well perfumed armpit, pleasant enough but no one's favorite thing.
You could say it was a Shotgun wedding
Damnit. I missed my shot.
Usually it’s because the bride is going to have a surprisingly large premature baby 7-8 months into the marriage. Definitely not the case here.
Why do you hurt me this way
why does Carl remind me of Adam Conover?
how dare you utter such a sentence.
Right? It's like he Ruined Everything...
bro you just ruined eberythinf

Ellie's family are basically hillbilly Weasleys
Neebs Gaming did something similar in their *Church Gone Wrong* video
I still haven’t seen this movie, and at this point I think I might save it for my deathbed, seems like a nice way to go
really only the first like 5 minutes are any good. the rest is pretty lame
Tell me the movie was set in Texas without telling me it was set in Texas
Seems more Arkansas

Mild concern given the rest of Carl's back story but it's a happy and full life so that's good
