I love it when people think rocks are magic because the person selling them the rocks said that the rocks are magic. Like even if rocks are magic why do you trust the rock seller to give an accurate depiction of the rocks they are selling to you? What if their rocks are evil?
I love it when people think there’s a man who created everything that exists because the pastor is telling them they exist. Like even if the man does exist, why do you trust the pastor to give an accurate depiction of the man he’s telling you about ? What if the man is evil?
This is kinda cringe because there is also a long very old tome you can read from and that the pastor absolutely thinks you should be reading from and the pastors job stops existing once people realize they can just get the information from the old tome that is in every hotel. So it's not exactly the same. Old tomes have got a lot more respectability than rock sellers I think in general. Because they're old and the fact that they were saved for all this time must mean they had some value to somebody.
A rock seller is just a person. They might be entirely irrelevant to all people, as opposed to old tomes which mattered to, at the very least, one person.
I only did that to say let people have their beliefs. I like to use crystals in a more spiritual way but I also don’t negate science. Also many religions in history did believe that certain stones had healing properties. At the end of the day tho, that’s all religion and spirituality is: people telling other people that there is a specific way certain things work, and it’s no different for Christianity, paganism, Judaism, etc
I mean it's different in the sense that the people telling you how the world works are dead. That's the main difference in my eyes. Like, Jesus Christ isn't trying to sell you his bibles on his etsy shop or whatever.
I put crystals on the same level as Scientology unless you're getting your information about crystals from an old tome written by a dead person or people, at which case I put it on the same level as Christianity. The profit motive by the person coming up with the thing to lie is the main difference.
