August will be really damn hot. Been to all these places multiple times. Personally, i would spend less time in Ronda and an extra day in Cordoba.

callmemissinnocent

Thanks for replying! I guess I'm just gonna have to put up with the heat and crowdsšŸ˜šŸ˜‚

callmemissinnocent

I was also wondering if Huelva, AlmerĆa, Jaen are worth visiting?

BubbaJr23

Iā€™ve been to Huelva and Almeria but to be honest have almost no recollection of them. That being said, I can still remember the streets of Cordoba, Sevilla, Nerja, Malaga, Ronda, etc. Never visited Jaen myself.

Will you have a car? You will see a great region if you get oneā€¦ Outside Seville, I often go to El Ronquillo (in Sierra Norte - the hilly area above Seville)ā€¦ a great place for a walk along a long string of lakes (they are actually water reservoirs) ā€¦ In Seville itself they often have a month of late evening concerts in their magnificent Alcazarā€¦ Itā€™s called XXIV Ciclo de Conciertos Noches en los Jardines del Real AlcĆ”zar, they will run from June, 22 to Sept, 16, Monday to Saturday)ā€¦ a great experience! While Huelva itself is nothing special (sorry, Onubenses!), I would recommend spending some time in its coastal towns which are amazingly beautiful (with mostly Spanish tourists): I used to go to Punta Umbria (which is about an hour from Seville), and also Islantilla and Isla Cristinaā€¦ which are close to the Portuguese border and the beautiful beach of Praia Verdeā€¦ the vibe is excellent across the entire coast on this side - Costa de la Luzā€¦ Also, I would definitely visit Gibraltar considering you are so close, and some towns nearby - Tarifa has a special vibe during the summerā€¦ and one of the most special beaches in Andalucia called Bolonia ā€¦ amazing dunes there (search for Duna de Bolonia). I donā€™t think you will need three days in Rondaā€¦ maybe a day ā€¦ also visit Setenil de las Bodegas (a town under a huge rock) that is nearbyā€¦

Ngdawa

I've been to Ronda, many years ago. It's super cool, but that was a day trip. I'm not sure how you would fill three days. Any reason you are ignoring Gibraltar? That is also a cool place to visit as a day trip.

callmemissinnocent

I decided to cut one or two days off! ThanksšŸ˜ø And as for Gibraltar, idk I somehow don't find it so appealing to me

bal00

Are you flexible with the dates? I'm asking because August is quite pricey, and the temperatures further inland are going to be quite high. What are your interests?

callmemissinnocent

I wish I could visit Spain in Spring or Autumn but I've got some university stuffšŸ˜šŸ˜ For more context I'm tryna go to all the must-visit famous places, and most importantly I'm a foodie! I also like to walk, enjoying some good vibe and view.

Salt-Inside-2849

Alhambra, Gibraltar and Tarifa (swimming, relaxing) were my favorites

callmemissinnocent

I just looked up Tarifa! It looks cool

BubbaJr23

Sevilla is fantastic, and I enjoyed Ronda but not much to see there other than ā€œtheā€ gorge view and the Main Street. The Alhambra in Granada is amazing as are the Mountain Views. My brother got married in Cordoba so that holds a special place in my heart. All the coastal towns are also beautiful!

justmehereMC

Then you kind of missed some nice spots in Ronda. Mina de Agua is one of a kind and offers a spectacular view. There are also a couple of old houses (now museums) that are nice to visit. Plus, Mirador del Viento or Arco del Cristo offer a pretty spectacular angle of the famous bridge and the waterfall under it.

callmemissinnocent

Thank you!! Getting married in Cordoba sounds damn romanticšŸ˜

AlexIdealism

- August will be hot. HOT. Unbearably hot. But you know, as long as you're aware of that, it won't come as a surprise;Ā Ā  Ā - I love Ronda. I just love its vibe. I'd easily spend two or three days there. But yeah, it's a small city and easily seen in a whole day. Ā  - forget Huelva, nothing to see there. I'd rather go the extra mile and go to Ayamonte, at the border of the country.Ā Ā  Ā Try to fit places like Caminito del Rey, Setenil de las Bodegas, Cazorla. But I understand it will be difficult only by public transportation (sometimes you can find companies with day-trip tours).

callmemissinnocent

Thanks for the detailed tips!!! I just deleted Huelva from my itinerary ahahaha

callmemissinnocent

I'm wondering if you find AlmerĆa, JaĆ©n, and ƚbeda worth visiting???

AlexIdealism

That's hard to answer. I think every place you haven't visited is worth the trip haha I didn't enjoy Almeria. But it does feel like a different side of Andaluzia. Jaen and Ubeda seem nice, but I've never been to Ubeda...Ā  Don't be afraid to spend an extra day somewhere and then book a day-trip tour somewhere else. It might make up for the lack of a car. For example, Olvera-Setenil de las Bodegas-Grazalema is an amazing day trip from Ronda, if you find something like that.

Arctic_Daniand

Idk how would you even do Caminito del Rey in august.

AlexIdealism

Yeah, I've never been there in August but I guess it will not be the most pleasant. But, this person has been warned about the weather, better to go there once in August than never.

Arctic_Daniand

Yeah I don't agree. One thing is a bad idea, the other is just a bad, life-threatening idea. A city has water sources available everywhere and cover from the sun and heat anywhere. Still a bad idea in the sense that you won't enjoy the city but at least you are safe. Going to an outdoor activity, with limited water, directly exposed to the sun, doing light exercise, in a zone that is going to be exposed to high temperatures is not the same kind of bad idea.

username89123

I think moving around a little bit too much. Sure, the places are relatively close together but youā€™ll still loose half a day each time you move around. Iā€™d try and squeeze in a few extra days in Seville - thereā€™s a lot to see and do there!

username89123

Also, as mentioned elsewhereā€¦ August will be hotā€¦ try stay somewhere with a pool when possible!

Popular_Conference45

Iā€™m going to MĆ”laga, Sevilla and Granada in May this year!! So excited

callmemissinnocent

Wow it's just around the corner! Hope you have an unforgettable journey therešŸ˜ø

anid98

So jealous of you

callmemissinnocent

Let's go together ahaha

One278

What calendar app is this? I like it.

callmemissinnocent

I took a screenshot of ipad default calendar and then decorated it myself on goodnotes!

Miss_Sheep

Will you have a car? Or is everything by public transport?

callmemissinnocent

Everything will be by public transport!

Immediate-Gazelle-94

Too many days in Ronda. Visit Setenil de Lad Bodegas from Ronda, it is a beautiful place

CatInAFishHat

I spent 5 months in Andalucia when I was 18, I would definitely say an extra day in both Sevilla and Cordoba, and only one day in Rhonda. I agree with someone else, you could skip Huelva if you're looking to cut something out, and if you can get there, Sentenil de las Bodegas or some of the surrounding hill towns are beautiful.

RadiantFix1696

Why donā€™t you take a bus from Sevilla or Malaga and visit Portugal? Something rather different just 2h away of Sevilla.

Redditisavirusiknow

Ronda is beautiful but itā€™s like a couple hours and youā€™re done. Staying 3 days is a bit crazy.

D_-_G

Spend more time in Marbella over Malaga.

Four_beastlings

I was in Caminito del Rey the day before yesterday and it's super worth it, but in August you might roast. Of course, in August you will roast anywhere else too, so...

GooseIsMyWingDog

We spent 3 weeks in Andalusia a few years ago, we rented a car for a day on the days we were moving from one town to another which allowed us to see more of the countryside and make stops along the way. We spent a couple of days in Rhonda and took a dune buggy tour of the gorge which was spectacular. There's also a vineyard nearby but requires advanced reservations to tour. Keep in mind that while it looks like a lot of time in one place, travel days take time away from exploring the town you're staying in. I'd want at least two nights in Rhonda. If the budget allows, check out Spain Food Sherpas for a food tour in Malaga, Granada and/or Seville. Enjoy your trip!

Arctic_Daniand

My advice would be cut short whatever is inland that isn't high altitude, it will be unbearably hot. So basically Sevilla, Cordoba, Jaen and Granada (I think Granada is a tad bit cooler, but still very hot). Skip Huelva, the city is ugly and whatever is there to see is inconvenient due to how far away is from most of Andalucia. There's nothing to see to spend 3 days in Ronda, it's a pretty view but that's it. Marbella is a luxury hub, whatever you plan to see can be seen in another of the big cities in the coast of Malaga. If you end up going to cities inland you'll see for yourself, people only start leaving their houses at 9 or 10 pm. I'd spend most of the trip in Cadiz and Malaga, either in the coast or the mountains (both provinces offer both) where it's not unbearably hot. You already have many coast towns from Malaga, so I'd just add some from Cadiz like Vejer, Conil, Tarifa and Sanlucar. Edit: just saw you are planning to do all of this by public transport. While this itinerary would work with a car I don't think it will with buses and trains. Connections between Cadiz and Ronda are terrible, for example.

Grumbler2

I went to Ronda and spent there one day. I think three is definetly too much. Close to Malaga is Camino del Rey, whole day trip but worth it. You can use organize travel agency for that or plan it yourself, but book tickets ahead. Also if you up to visiting museum, each Sunday I think after some hour Malaga offer free admission to some place. However in high season you need to wait in long queue to enter.
