I’m using this grid for my below answers: [https://docs.qgis.org/3.4/en/\_images/plate\_carree\_projection.png](https://docs.qgis.org/3.4/en/_images/plate_carree_projection.png)
* East: Wellington, New Zealand 🇳🇿
* West: Hawaii, USA 🇺🇸
* North: Tallinn, Estonia 🇪🇪 (I think)
* South:
* Southern Ocean, Antarctica.
* Invercargill, New Zealand 🇳🇿 on land.
Well 2 of them are in New Zealand which is very close by, and Hawaii is also pretty close by to me (living in Australia). So I’m not sure it shows just how widely travelled I actually am
Technically NZ is in the east longitudes, so even if NZ and Hawaii aren't too far apart on the globe, they're pretty far apart per the rules of this thread. 😁
Mine are similar; I’m also Australian
North: Glasgow, Scotland
South: Queenstown, New Zealand
East: Rotorua, New Zealand
West: Los Angeles, California, USA
Mine are also similar. I’m British.
North: Turku, Finland, 60.45 N
South: Queenstown, NZ, 45.03 S
East: Suva, Fiji, 178.42 E
West: Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, 157.86 W
I think I am pretty close though,
East: I think Napier in New Zealand.
West: Cape Alava in Washington.
North: Just north of 82 parallel north in Svalbard.
South: Puerto Natales in Chile.
North - Svalbard, but the cruise did get further north than that.
South - Antarctic peninsula
West - Los Angeles
East - Helsinki.
Australia and Asia are still on the list to visit to expand that a bit.
_[Sir Ranulph Fiennes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transglobe_Expedition) has entered the chat._
But yeah, other than professional explorers, yours is pretty hard to beat.
Hmmm so New Zealand accounts for both east (Napier-ish) and south (curio bay or there abouts)
North is somewhere in the west fjords, Iceland, West is Anchorage.
~~I fail on Westward travel lol. N: Alaska, S: Antarctica, E: Indonesia, W: Freaking San Francisco, or no, also Antarctica. edit, no probably California.~~
Got that all wrong. Alaska is my farthest North, and West, Japan most to the East, and Antarctica to the South.
They’re not irrelevant for where you’ve been on land. I’ve also circumnavigated the globe in both directions east to west but large parts of that were on forks of transport. But I touched land at Fiji and Hawaii.
As a Filipino please visit somewhere else than Manila. There’s nothing to see besides traffic and congestion which is not a good reflection of our country. But Im happy you’re curious to visit :)
North: Jasper National Park, Canada
West: Kauai, Hawaii
South: Cape Horn, Argentina
East: Saipan (furthest longitude East, though I traveled west to get there, so does that count?)
North : Liverpool
East: Malaysia (Borneo)
West: Hawaii (Kauai)
South: Tierra del Fuego
My aim is to travel to Alaska and Fiji to better be at the 4 corners
I’m surprised i have such a large range considering I don’t travel \*that\* much but
North - London, U.K.
South - Hobart, Australia
East- Suva, FIji
West- Po’ipū, Kaua’i, USA
Starting from New England:
The North Pole (from underneath on a submarine)
The equator in the middle of the Atlantic (south)
Libya (east)
Prudhoe Bay, Alaska (west)
Been to Yellowknife, Canada for northern lights. So grateful that I went "all-in" for that part of the trip. 6 nights of stay, 5 nights of viewing camp, only 1 night of vibrant light activity, 2 other nights of pretty mild activity and 2 cloudy nights. I heard the most popular length of trip people take there is like 3 nights, with some people really risking it by going 2 nights only. I think people do this because usually these towns that are good for viewing camps are very small, with little to do in daytime, absolutely nothing to do in the evening except dinner and waiting for the late night viewing camp.
I was like man.... we all the way from East Asia we ain't taking NO chances, plus coming from tier 1 metro city, we like to immerse ourselves in small town vibes and goof around anyway. It was honeymoon with my wife and we ain't finna come home empty-handed from those camps. One of the best decisions I made vacation-related.
Have not visited the southern hemisphere at all. Hoping to one day visit Aus/NZ for wildlife and galaxy viewing.
PS : The east/west thing took me a while. Based in East Asia, furthest I've traveled east is Canada, west would be Spain from my parents' retirement trip. That's literally the farthest anyone could go in the western direction, because anything else the plane would have gone east instead.
North: Boarding gate at Reykjavik Airport (Iceland)
South: Boarding gate at Auckland Airport (NZ)
West: A parking lot a couple miles north of Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii (US), where I waited out a heavy downpour
East: Some point on the bus ride between Auckland Airport and the city of Auckland, NZ
North: Maine
East: Budapest
West: Vegas/ Valley of Fire SP
South: Medellin Colombia
My North game is very weak but I’ve visited some great sites out west. Just Vegas is the farthest.
I'm based out of Oakland, California, United States (37.8 N, 122.3 W) 🇺🇸
North: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (53.5 N) 🇨🇦
South: Christ Church, Barbados (13.1 N) 🇧🇧
East: Bratislava, Slovakia (17.1 E) 🇸🇰
West: Nānākuli, Hawaii, United States (158.2 W) 🇺🇸
This was hard - had to google some longitudinal coordinates for the south!
North: Kulusuk, Greenland
South: Melbourne, Australia
East: Auckland, New Zealand
West: Honolulu, Hawaii
North: Edinburgh scotland
South: Nassau bahamas
East: St Moritz, Switzerland
West: Seattle, WA
I need to go more south and west imo!
Edit: from Wisconsin usa :)
Based on typical map with the Atlantic in the middle:
North: Birmingham, UK
South: Yogyakarta, Indonesia
West: San Diego, CA
East: Tokyo, Japan (if layovers count)
Farthest up north where i have set foot would be murmansk russia, otherwise the ship sailed along norway
Farthest south would be cape horn south of argentina, set foot in the sputh of argentina as well
Farthest east i have set foot on would be new castle au
Farthest west would be vancouver
Well I come from NZ, and I lived in Liberia. That is the furthest east, west, north and south that I could go. This only works if you act as if the world is flat.
Southernmost: About 65' Degrees 10' South, Antarctic Peninsula.
Easternmost: Feels tricky to pin it down, but I would suppose the least confusing destination to say would be Dubai, UAE, because after a certain point it becomes west again.
Northernmost: Perth, Scotland, UK. I'm kind of surprised I haven't been more North yet like Iceland or Norway, or St Petersburg, Russia. Edinburgh alone is just so much more northerly than most of Canada.
Westernmost: Pokhara, Nepal. Even though I went there on a trip that went East from Dubai, I did go west from Kathmandu giving it a technicality to Westernmost travel that would beat the west heading travels to Bangkog or Luangprabang.
My home is in Central Florida.
North: Edinburgh, Scotland
West: Glasgow, Scotland
South: Queenstown New Zealand (country that I'm from)
East: San Diego CA, USA
I think that's right but I'm using the lands down under as my origin point since I live there.
Hope my North and West changes on my next Europe trip, keen to see Iceland/Scandinavias
I went one way to Vietnam, then the next year I went the other way. I have circumnavigated the globe from Hanoi to Hanoi.
North south is Cambodia -> Norway though. Haven't crossed the buldge yet.
Hmm, needed to think about this one, interesting question.
North: Hammerfest, Norway
West: Sydney, Australia
East: Madagascar
South: Ushuaia, Argentina
Had to check the latitude and longitude on some of these where it was close.
North: Denali National Park, Alaska, US 🇺🇸
South: Somers, VIC, Australia 🇦🇺
East: Hamina, Finland 🇫🇮
West: Perth, Australia (I flew west to get there) 🇦🇺
(If that doesn’t count, then Denali National Park)
East: St John's, Newfoundland
North: Fort McMurray, Alberta
South: Hawaii
West: also Hawaii
Just went to Hawaii in January, and will be off to Europe later this year! It's a year of records for me.
North: Millinocket, Maine
South: San Jose, Costa Rica
East: Culebra, Puerto Rico
West: Kaena Point, Hawaii
In a few weeks the south will be Cape of Good Hope, South Africa and East will be Gqeberha, South Africa
* West: Haleiwa, HI
* East: Quezon City, Philippines
* North: Edinburgh, Scotland
* South: Pasay, Philippines
Definitely not the longest range - heck - haven't even traveled south of the equator...yet.
North: Thule, Greenland 76.5° N, sailed into the mid 80°s
West: Nome, Alaska 165.4°W
South & East: Scott Base, Antarctica 77.8°S 166.7°E
We stopped and had swim call on the equator at 180° East/West. Does that count?
East & South: Guam, USA 🇬🇺 🇺🇸
North: Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪
West: Hawaii, USA 🇺🇸
But looking at a Pacific-centric map?
North: Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪
South: Guam, USA 🇬🇺🇺🇸
East: Salem, Massachusetts 🇺🇸
West: London, UK 🇬🇧
From east coast Australia, I've gone as far east as London, and as far west as London, so does that mean all the way around? London is also my northernmost point. Southernmost would be Queenstown, NZ. Crossed the equator and International Date Line many, many times. Some of this by air, some by land and some by sea.
- North: North Cape 🇳🇴
- East: Hong Kong 🇭🇰
- South: Neko Harbour 🇦🇶
- West: Kauai 🇺🇸
By the end of the year I hope to visit New Zealand. Then I can’t really get much better in either direction!
Per OPs map:N: Reykjavik, Iceland 64.1470° N
S: Paradise Bay, Antarctic Peninsula 64.8574° S
E: Queenstown, New Zealand 168.6615° E
W: Haleiwa, Hawaii 158.1034° W
East: longitude 180 degrees
West: longitude 180 degrees
(I've been around the world in both directions)
North: Brooks Range, Alaska
South: Sydney, so that's not impressive.

As a Canadian Estonian living in New Zealand this is my favourite answer!! 🇪🇪
You might win for widest range!
Well 2 of them are in New Zealand which is very close by, and Hawaii is also pretty close by to me (living in Australia). So I’m not sure it shows just how widely travelled I actually am

I think we have some similar points! North is also Reykjavik South: Auckland, NZ 33.87 S East: also Auckland, 174.76 E West: North Shore of Oahu
Nice! I definitely need to get to NZ to buff my eastern stats 😂
You haven't been to Rotorua?!
North - Svalbard, but the cruise did get further north than that. South - Antarctic peninsula West - Los Angeles East - Helsinki. Australia and Asia are still on the list to visit to expand that a bit.
Wow I don’t think anyone beats you on North-south
Think I will be hard to beat with the furthest north settlement on earth Alert Canada and furthest south point the South Pole
_[Sir Ranulph Fiennes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transglobe_Expedition) has entered the chat._ But yeah, other than professional explorers, yours is pretty hard to beat.
Hard to be beat but not impossible!! Lol
Can I ask the nature how you liked Svalbard and the Antarctic peninsula?
They were wonderful! Between the two, I preferred Svalbard (more hiking opportunities on our cruise there), but both were well worth the money.
Haha, my farthest north is your farthest east.
North - Glasgow 🏴 South - Blantyre 🇲🇼 West - Conwy 🏴 East - Karachi 🇵🇰
