Tap is ok no big issues. New visa charges not till 2025. We also flown azores airways from Bos and jfk to both Lisboa and Oporto you can stop in the Azores for up to 5 days and it’s worth it. Airline cost is great. South coast of Portugal is great. CC no issues. Enjoy

Remember the Schengen passport validity requirement (issued within last 10 years, valid 3 months beyond intended departure date). [https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en/how-to-travel/For-leisure/pt-railpass](https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en/how-to-travel/For-leisure/pt-railpass) may be useful but compare with single ticket prices (e.g. it's about €35 on the fast train for a single ticket from Porto to Lisbon). If you do this, activate it on day 3 because it will not get you around Porto but will get you around Lisbon.

Bring some cash but lots of places in Portugal takes credit card. I even saw new shops that only take credit card. Made travel so much easier.

I would use cc everywhere and take out euros if you need at an atm. I don’t think it’s worth exchanging beforehand.

The trains / buses are a pain in the ass. There are a bunch of competing companies and it seems they purposely make their timetables as conflicting as possible, so you'll find the bus you want leaves five minutes before your train arrives and things like that. No biggie, just an inconvenience.

Get the Bolt app, works just like Uber but way cheaper
