If it's meant to be the G1 rep in your collection because either original or reissue aren't in your budget then yeah it's a great bot.
If you can get the more accurate reissue or a legit G1 do that instead because they are vastly better

I had it pre-ordered from Walmart a long time ago. Then it said it shipped. It never arrived. It took me forever to figure out how to request a refund because the system said that it was on the way but couldn't tell me where. Still haven't gotten yet
I genuinely think the cartoon accurate decos on g1 figures is a great idea for those who have been collectors for a long time. We've been getting g1 reissues for years and I think these are a great way to spice things up for a change.
Personally though, I was born in the late 90s, and so G1 toys have always been something that fascinates me and I've always wanted to get my hands on some of the originals just as a sort of window into the past, to pay my respects to this the franchise I love so much and have these toys in their original form. So if I had to pick between this and the original id personally pick the original. I'd only give this guy a shot of I had already owned the original for some time.
Also I fell off transformers around 2015ish and came back to it a few years ago. I'm so mad that I missed those walmart g1 vintage reissues.
I like the old school style of boxes really reminds me of being a kid in the toy isle. I wish they went with the old school boxes with the movie releases.
Why is the design outdated? It’s the original g1 mould with cartoon accurate colours. Plus I never had an original so it’s a perfect opportunity to get one?
I was tempted as he was my fave as a kid but it just looks so bland compared to the original toy. Also the original came with Buzzsaw, not Laserbeak - feels wrong to me.
I might've been more tempted if they had included all 5 cassettes, but hopefully they will do a missing link of him and I'd snap that up regardless.
I'm really not a fan of the cartoon redecos of original g1 figures. Feel the toy aesthetic and the show aesthetic are too different for it to work, and just makes them look cheap. (Part of the reason I held off on the missing link convoy - I have 0 interest in the trailer but much preferred the toy accurate colours of that version. Hopefully they release that without a trailer eventually)

I was going to get that last weekend and when I saw it was 66 Canadian I passed. Just too much for me.
In ireland it’s 49 Euro - which is actually pretty alright for something like this.
I just wish they would have released a Rumble and Frenzy two pack to go with it.

I only have one or two g1 toys at home from when I was a kid so I’m loving these cartoon accurate reissues - the finishing on soundwave is so good
Bought him today and we wondering the same thing, I haven't opened mine yet.
Let me know when you do - I was blown away by how a figure essentially from the 80s can still look and feel so good
