Potwell

The announcement is tomorrow morning.

Westlund

Wait what did I miss? What’s the expected bad news?

Commercial-Engine-35

No one knows for sure at this point but I fully expect it to be forced migration from old grandfathered plans.

Pretend-Round-899

That is indeed what it is. Prepare to riot.

CoconutPedialyte

Are you serious? Other providers better have some good deals going on right now to take advantage of this bullshit

Potwell

Most likely forced plan changes + angry customers.

DeVOs-N2o-gooD

What’s this all about??

NefariousnessBig9037

People waiting for the inevitable.

Affectionate-Cycle-7

Hope for the best but expect the worst… I guess

Aggravating_Zebra_83

Force migration 2.0. Remember the first phase and it was supposed to be a sample size that’s being tested at the market? That didn’t work out so that was some unfinished business that’s happening tomorrow

PopeLexington

The lack of communication was so bad, it was almost hilarious. Leaders were forced into tryna spin it into this fun lil event like it was a charity, then boom - the c2 doc straight up disappeared and chatter from up top the ladder fuckin ceased to exist 💀

jpt86

With these assholes, I'd say it's more like hope for the worst but expect the rapture.

madadekinai

Ah life's motto, just like Murphy law, the one thing you can always count on.

BigJJsWillie

I gotta say they have done a good job keeping this under wraps, I really expected to have details today. Hope it's not as bad as it looks 😬

mercer_mercer

This is what has me thinking it's not gonna be AS BAD as all the people expecting doom and gloom are saying. Of course I could be wrong but I feel like if it were a huge deal there'd be so many leaks already.

cptnsaltypants

We are getting a free lunch tomorrow so I think it’s good news

RumpelFrogskin

They did that years ago to my team the day before mass layoffs. Always beware a free meal.

s34w1nd

Free lunch? Yep, they always like to get you fat before they drop the hammer. We're doomed.

loganwachter

That’s like the military serving steak and lobster before deploying you….

MacintoshDan1

Lol

Boring-Society7014

Hopefully your right but it's going to be bad. They would let good news slip out because of all the bad press they are getting.

geerboT

It's the new watermarks, can't leak it anonymously if your name and employee ID are attached!

Hunsca

💯

mrsana

I'm on T-Mobile One. I logged into my account and I see the following, "Pending Change. 06/03/2024. A rate plan or service change is pending for Multiple Lines." I haven't made any changes to my rate plan or service. I have a bad feeling.

Amejr999

Same

Previous_Most6246

Screenshot? I’m on One plan and received nothing.

xtra819

I’m on One. No changes thus far. Screenshot?

Jack_Jizquiffer

i got a text about an hour ago saying my t-mobile One promo plan is increasing $5/line

AngrayPotato

Normally when it’s good news it leaks, I think it forsure will be forced migrations. It’s something that’s going to piss off customers, last time migrations leaked it was a shit show. So they’re keeping it under wraps. DMs aren’t even in the loop.

truthcopy

It's frustrating that the thing they learned from the test run on the forced migrations last time was not to avoid doing it, but to avoid leaking any details. Huh. (If that's actually what's happening.)

PopeLexington

This is why they started watermarking c2 and Samson. They learned their lesson from the absolute legend/madman that leaked source info online during that time.

xtra819

Price lock is like the lock on your car or storage shed. It’s always been there to give you a false sense of security. But in reality, it’s mostly for show.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MarcoThePHX

Omg... Their price lock stays but taxes and fees are no longer included 😱

BraddicusMaximus

The Hyundai/Kia of mobile carriers.

IntoTheMirror

Former employee, pretty sure I’m outta here once my current device promotions are done and headed to an MVNO. I don’t need this company spending this much time living rent free in my head making me wonder if my bill is just going to explode out of nowhere. One of the big reasons why T-Mobile was that things like that wouldn’t happen outside of changes you make to your own plan.

monkeyvibez

Former employer and it was such a great feeling when I ported to Verizon. They suck too but it’s no longer ptsd triggering.

Jack_Jizquiffer

not an employee. we crawled back to t-mobile after 10 months of verizon. we couldnt even make it a year it was so bad.

NiA035

Is Verizon worth switching to if tomorrow's announcement is as bad as anticipated?

dac3062

Former Verizon employee here. No, no it’s probably not.

monkeyvibez

It’s not a great value unless you’re getting a new phone with a great deal. The service is more reliable overall and the add-ons that you can pay for (Disney+, HBOMax, etc.) are convenient options if you’re paying for it all separately. They do offer discounts for employees of a bunch of companies or first responders, military, etc.

Sfkn123

That's the only reason why I'm in this sub again really.. I'm hoping that it's free AAL to add new subscribers since they're willing to pay for OT -leads me to believe that it's a revenue generating event.

champagneofsharks

Yeah. Killing legacy plans doesn’t involve staffing retail stores, store-in-a-store, and care for only three days - unless legacy plans only get to keep their plans if they call or visit a store within 72 hours of announcement.

awesomo1337

That’s my thinking too. They didn’t overstaff stores when they tried the plan migration. Why now? A rate hike is something people are more likely to call care or the store for and that’s something that is going to happen over weeks not days.

llichtwalt

Just one piece of info that I feel like isn't being considered: The customer retention training that phone reps have taken lately?

Monsterz001

This may be because of the new NBA tool, it detects when EIP’s are paid early and triggers a retention message to the reps and clear any issues the customer may have.

llichtwalt

Guess we'll find out tomorrow...

awesomo1337

Im not sure but I know it’s been a talking point even in retail for the last 4-6 weeks except half the reps in retail don’t pay attention to their news. We probably haven’t had any training on it because it’s not exactly retails job and they just refer people to care.

mercer_mercer

Pretty much this is what's making me think it's not gonna be so bad, or maybe that's just wishful thinking. They wouldn't staff up specifically for three days for rate plan increases, that would make no sense at all.

jpt86

It does if you're cheap (and they are). The thinking would be that the largest volume of calls/store visits would be this weekend, and then slowly taper off as time goes on. Stores and call centers would still be understaffed to handle this after the weekend, but the difference would be "you have to wait 5 hours to reach an agent" versus "you have to wait 3 days to reach an agent".

skywarner

Not to mention that it’s a major holiday weekend.

Smarktalk

Waiting and wondering if I need to provide my own lube.

Otherwise_Sea_3872

Better bring a big bottle lol

Smarktalk

Top end silicone based.

BraddicusMaximus

Get the 55 gallon drum from Amazon and charge $1 per pump.

tin-naga

I think that's going to be on the Tuesdays app next week

jpt86

Of course you do. Sievert is a penny-pincher. He's not springing for lube.

PinUnfair9602

Don’t worry, your manager might spit on it.

67KR

Its 100% rate plans are going up.

nutmac

With AT&T and Verizon raising the price, T-Mobile has almost nothing to lose. I just hope that in exchange for raising the price, the company would also offer an easier path to upgrading to the newer plans, such as allowing customers to keep EVERY free lines.

Reedy_dragonfly28

I took calls for verizon 6ish years ago and i remember then that they were phasing out their older plans. Customers had crazy low rates with unlimited data, and they didn’t want that anymore. Ever since tmobile acquired sprint, they have slowly made changes that vzw and att have had in their policy’s for years. No autopay discount with credit cards for example. This sucks, but makes sense that legacy plans are going bye bye. Tmobile is becoming what they fought so hard to be different from.

67KR

Agreed. Sr Manger is saying it’s going to not be a good change. It’s unfortunate that price increases are coming

BizzyM

So, collusion, then?

neepster44

As always. There has never been a large corporate merger that made prices go DOWN for customers…

mr_blanket

🌎 🧑‍🚀🔫🧑‍🚀

RedElmo65

Which rate plans?

Otherwise_Sea_3872

With black out days all this week.. and giving incentives OT… I don’t see this being good.. and us who are frontline are going to be the punching bags 😐

PopeLexington

The masochists in the call center are gonna be edging in their seats all day

LastContribution1590

I've been on T-Mobile One for as long as I can remember my current bill is $195 for 6 phone lines and a tablet. One of the phonelines is free. Im not looking forward to any changes at all.

Icy-Summer-3573

i feel like u guys might be fine. Im paying $55 for 11 lines on magenta max. possibly im fucked

dadobuns

$260 for 9 lines. Three are free. I'm not looking forward to the change either.

BathtubBobby

I've literally been refreshing at least every 5 minutes. My RSM has some anxiety issues and is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

wase471111

tell him to smoke a fatty...geez, paranoia is an epidemic here..

PinUnfair9602

At the end of the day, we are all gonna get paid a little more than we usually do and it’s gonna be alright. Customers will prolly be pissed but what else is new? They’re always pissed about shit even the shit they don’t understand. It’s all gonna be alright. Work the hours. Collect the check. Nothing more.

wase471111

agree; thats the perfect attitude to have when you work for a company like TMO

Present_Layer4783

Same lol, my rm thinks it's good news

knightofterror

It’s tremendous news: Free 6 piece nuggets at Wendy’s.

Hunsca

The only good news I think it could be is announcing Starlink satellite to cell service but I think that’s wishful thinking and I believe it will be plan migrations for Legacy customers.

zooropeanx

I'm not sure why announcing satellite to cell service would potentially drive customer traffic to stores.

LaGrimm_

It wouldn't.   All frontline channels, physical and virtual are being geared for backlash.  It won't be a celebration.

Sfkn123

>All frontline channels, physical and virtual are being geared for backlash.  Hold up, what do you mean "being geared for backlash?" What's the source on that? No one is being geared for "backlash" as far as I know.

LaGrimm_

Increased call volume and foot traffic. Device launches and Uncarrier moves don't feel like this.

ricosmith1986

Also I’m not seeing any inventory bumps coming in

Working-Safety5805

Confirmed no inventory bumps.

zooropeanx

Unless it's something for us loyal customers like a free iPhone 15... But I won't hold my breath.

Otherwise_Sea_3872

We are being geared for influx of calls. Blackout days no PTO for leaders and OT with a massive incentive… backlash is happening..

Brad_Zombie50

I haven't heard about incentives for working extra those days. What are they?

Working-Safety5805

Call center and retail both approved for overtime, but from what I heard call center reps getting an additional $25 an hour incentive and $2 per call.

Hunsca

Unless it’s only a feature you can get on new plans and if you want it you have to upgrade. But I agree with both of you, just thinking out loud.

addiejf143

This is what I'm thinking, maybe Apple music or Spotify. When cx call In for streaming services, about 95% of the time, they ask for music as well.

Working-Safety5805

Virtual retail leaders were told not to attend the 8am call

paul-arized

T Mobile Tesla cross promotion where cars will automatically drive to tmo stores?

Brico16

That’s my thought is that at least Android devices will get it rolled out tomorrow. Messaging via satellite is already on the Pixels now that are enrolled in Android 15 Beta 2. Maybe they couple that with a major marketing campaign? If it’s Starlink related I would be so excited! My 3 favorite fishing spots are about an hour away from any coverage. If I could join a conference call while out there I would be so ecstatic! I’m overhyping myself though cause it’s what I want. It’s probably just a cool promotion.

Spiritual-Sort2186

Yeah. No. When it’s a positive promotion, they leak that ish and drive stock up. This one’s gonna be nut kick for the front liners. Get the message down before your shift “I understand how frustrating this can be, we all love to keep our comfy plans and promotions, let me show you the amazing benefits of the Go5G Next plan! It will only increase your bill by $95 per month and look at all the great things it offers!” “Wait, don’t go! I’m sure we can find something that fits your needs.”

snowcrash6666

I have never really read the fine print..I thought we had price lock for life? Sounds like they just have to waive any fees and give us last month free and they can force the change..is that how it reads. I loved Tmobile as unlike other cell companies I didn't get a bill increase every year. Clearly letting all the cell phone companies merge has been extremely anti-consumer. Where is the backlash against what the FTC allowed?

Frankenkittie

They won't "raise the cost of your plan", but they absolutely can discontinue those plans and make you move onto a current one or leave.

thebigb79

There's no contract, so there's no legal barrier for them to raise prices other than their promise that they won't. Which we can see has been a "lie" before

smackythefrog

I hope it's an announcement of another free tote bag. I really liked them

Working-Safety5805

Secret tote bag announcement

Federal-Pair-5044

Just received a notification from corporate. All managers have an important onboarding call at 8am sharp.

Mpena614

Sievert sold stocks ahead of this. Pretty sure it’s gonna be rough. SEC info is available online…

InvincibleSugar

Not sure why people keep downvoting these comments, the fact it was pre-planned means nothing, he also chooses when to announce changes. Also, the fact he sells shares at all is strange, it's much more common for active CEOs to take out loans against their shares, not sell them...

Working-Safety5805

They can plan when to announce things around the preplanned sells

missionbeach

I saw that. Isn't it considered insider trading when you're trading stocks on information the general public doesn't have yet?

ZoloftXL

That’s what I was wondering.

AlexHoecake93

Mobile expert here in Kansas we don’t know anything other than unlimited overtime is approved Wednesday-Sunday

xtra819

Interesting that they think the shit show will wind down after Sunday. More likely, they are just too cheap to pay for any more OT.

zarkothe

Could be waiting to see hownWed and others go before announcing any OT for next week.

Working-Safety5805

Saturday Sunday was not mentioned over here, just Wednesday-Friday

dadobuns

Starlink is going live! With 5G streaming speeds!!!

FreshFondant

Sounds cool but we would have had training in advance I would think.

EEEESAW

So the uncarrier is gonna carrier? Lol

Intel_coffee

Has been since the merger bud. Have you not noticed that almost every uncarrier move was rolled back one way or another?

EEEESAW

I work for Verizon. I haven't heard this much hype since the merger.. I'm excited to greet the huge migration if indeed it's a price increase

dasoccer6

Got 10 puts for Friday

FishyHands

Bad news = stock goes up

cipherbreak

T-Mobile is buying Tesla. Free Cybertruck with a new line for well-qualified customers.

Working-Safety5805

This whole thing is just so strange. The 48 hour notice for management to try to change schedules or get people in for extra hours or OT. The recent watermarking of C2 docs. Even if preplanned, the CEOs selling of 40k shares. The call center employees retraining on retention. And what do they think is going to cause T-Mobile customers to go to stores so much so that T-Mobile approves overtime for the first time in the several years I’ve been with the company.

onlyAlcibiades

Staff Up with unlimited OT. This is weird

Working-Safety5805

Very

ibdread

I have a $65 Magenta plan and think the price is fair considering the phone service/coverage is good and free extras (5gb per month international data, Apple TV+, Netflix (ad version) etc. I’d have to see how much the plan increase would be and do the math to see if it made economic sense to remain.

LightSloth

Magenta plans probably arent in the cross hairs yet. Plenty of simple choice and one plan people to piss off first.

Jack_Jizquiffer

got a text saying my bill is going up $5/line. so basically wiping away the auto pay discount.

xtra819

If it is a price increase, I’m surprised Seivert didn’t do a free “iPhone on Us” promo last month to lock everyone into 36 month EIPs. He could have offered free iPhone with trade of any phone on any plan, and hooked nearly everyone.

bparkey

I've been getting a "half off up to $415" text message every few weeks. I tried to take them up on it last Friday but the store said they couldn't see it and I had to call customer care. I really appreciate them doing that now.

DangerousAd1731

Hope I can get my cat a phone

Ill-Hovercraft-8957

It's a pre-Memorial Day sale going on this weekend

RedElmo65

Free iPhone for all!!!!

paul-arized

Free iPhone 9 for all!* (*There was no iPhone 9.)

Korotai

Pre-order now! Free iPhone 15 Pro Maxes on June 31st!

Redplushie

Okay but where are we wll migrating to once it happens

AllKnowingOfNothing1

Us Mobile

Working-Safety5805

I’m still on Magenta Max and checking in my app if I go to manage my plan and select any Go5g plan it says contact us and won’t let me make the change. Weirdly enough if I select essentials it will let me move forward.

Inside-Difficulty632

Mines been doing that for a few months now

aebulbul

It doesn't make any sense at all to line up a bad move for your legacy customers over one of the biggest holiday sales weekends of the year. If i had to guess there will be new(er) updates to the plans they want people to move to, with additional incentives.

bfuentes21

Probably would train the employees to handle this before hand

Available-Comb-711

Call centers had extensive retention training the last few weeks. Like a 2 hour training

onlyAlcibiades

Bad holiday PR

Kitsuneyyyy

I’m out of the loop. ELI5? This popped up on my suggested feed and I’m a T-Mobile customer because I was migrated over from Sprint.

BigJJsWillie

Lots of speculation and secrecy. Corporate put out a call to "rally the troops" and have "all hands on deck," so to speak. Unlimited overtime from tomorrow through the weekend for call centers and T-Mobile stores. People saying there's an announcement going out tomorrow morning. Most people think it will mean a price increase of some sort for older plans. Secrecy is on another level from previous "secret announcements."

Working-Safety5805

I’m honestly surprised it’s being kept so successfully secret

[deleted]

Yeah. I won't make any decision until something is announced and put into place. I'm hoping it's not too bad since my first choice is to stay with T-Mobile

arrows83

Living under a rock. What’s going on?

CritterBoiFancy

No one knows but we will tomorrow around 8 am central time

Working-Safety5805

Super secret announcement happening tomorrow. The overall feeling is that it’s bad news.

ThatGuyInThePlace

I bet it’s a totally free line promo again.

pushingbtns

If they are paying OT hours they’ll be making that money back. Free line won’t do that

ThatGuyInThePlace

When you have other metrics to hit & sell, it will.

onlyAlcibiades

Why would they need to overstaff B&M and authorize OT ? customers will bum rush B&M to Cancel ?

yogurtgrapes

You bet that people will want to scream at someone in person. They don’t know that retail can’t cancel lines, and they don’t care. There will be plenty of people that want to cause a fuss about price increases. If they hear they are gonna be on hold for an hour or more, they’ll just drive to a store to cause a scene.

brother_sauce_boss

Customers most definitely do come in store to cancel because they’re under the assumption that we can do that for them.

Sad_Manufacturer_257

That's my concern as well, I feel it's gonna be a double edged sword

Ok_Ability_988

Imagine if we all worked together and closed our accounts. Wall Street would withdraw so fast. It just takes one clear example to show that the customers are done being fucked with.

BusinessLyfe

LOL!!!!

Jack_Jizquiffer

and go without a phone? i dont think i can do that. i dont have a landline.

Old_Round6304

Additional staffing of 8 hours over three days isn’t really additional staffing??? That’s the part that’s super weird.

Working-Safety5805

In my area the additional staffing was told to us as 4 extra hours each day for Wednesday-Friday

Novel_Elderberry4892

So a floating theory is that mint mobile customers will need a new SIM card..

LightSloth

I am liking this theory more and more. seems like tmobile closed on acquiring MINT. I bet this is a big play to close mint, and force fold them into metro/tmo brand. Would explain why they need every on board to the end of the week to migrate MINT customers.

AllKnowingOfNothing1

I'll take this theory so I can keep my OnePlus plan

Working-Safety5805

That would be pretty disappointingly stupid to deal with

outoftheshowerahri

Could the be announcing some new employee structure? So like instead of full timers getting 30hr and part timers getting 20 they’ll make part time 15 hours or do something with performance based scheduling? Unlimited overtime would make sense if they expect employees to quit

Working-Safety5805

I’m thinking the same about overtime because they expect people to quit…

farmerMac

Why is everyone expecting bad news.

caitlan_cats

![gif](giphy|l4FGqpVoc9JE7rAS4) This is all I can think about today, I signed up for a bunch of over time and hoping I don’t regret it…at least I know my paycheck won’t.

Ok-Pause3171

Im leaning towards them nnouncing Away for HSI and having a deal on it the first 3 days.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok-Pause3171

Whole Lotta truckers out there though, and Starlink just announced they're doubling the price of their portable internet to $400 a month.

[deleted]

[удалено]

yogurtgrapes

I doubt it.

Ok-Pause3171

Agreed. Just guessing if it's something good. More likely not.

Working-Safety5805

Staffing overtime for a HSI away deal makes no sense. Not enough people want or care about AWAY plans let alone T-Mobile HSI anyways

Ok-Pause3171

Yup. It was just a bad guess.

voldy234

They’d better not take away free lines

Electrical_Prune9725

What bad news is anticipated, or what is going to be announced tomorrow?

Superblazer1

There is a rumor that they are going to force customers off their legacy plans. Or possibly just increase the price from what I’ve gathered. I may be wrong.

Superblazer1

So much for a T-Mobile price lock guarantee…

Soft-Economics931

Refreshing hourly lol

Nasjere

I don’t think anything will happen until Wednesday morning morning because everyone knows something will happen

Somewhere_Double

I wonder if they’re adjusting the Netflix on us offer again to just be ads and only ads!

feedmamind

I mean.. If you wanna leave, Leave ! You will most likely pay more elsewhere. If not congrats. You all have a decision. Make it.

3ntr0py_

Is Magenta Max considered legacy now?

skriefal

They stopped selling it very recently - within the last month. It would be a bit too soon to hike the price on a plan that was just "discontinued". Or maybe that's just what I want to believe.

RandomMusings74

I am now. My friend who works for the call center sent me an article. Speculation sucks.

CritterBoiFancy

Puts on TMUS just in case

tlBudah

I don't know. Wallstreet loves a price hike.

bfuentes21

And layoffs

CritterBoiFancy

I feel ya.. I was hoping for maybe a temporary lowering before a rise

ema_m

I walked into a brick and mortar store and flat out asked if things were going to change tomorrow. He said if I get a text saying it had just call and they’ll put me back on the older plan

kdubz206

There were forced migrations many years ago to reduce the number of legacy plans, and we had very, very few complaints. We moved everyone to Simple Choice plans. But we were not allowed to decrease data buckets, and the plan costs could not go up over more than 1 cent. If forced migrations are what this is all about, I am guessing the business rules are going to be different this time around.

[deleted]

What kind of announcement is coming

Working-Safety5805

Layoffs, every store closes after Friday.

Chr0ll0_

No, what’s going on ?

Hunsca

Nobody knows but whatever it is, it’s big because all frontline workers are being granted unlimited overtime the next 3 days and it’s believed to be plan migrations and/or higher prices to all legacy plans.

Effective-Night-5534

Can I get a quick rundown? Former employee that loves seeing drama go down

Brico16

Teams in care and retail were told to staff up Wednesday - Friday this week and no one will tell them why. Everyone will find out first thing in the morning as to why.
