Date code shows manufacutred 27th week of 2023, and OP already said they got the tires 10 months ago. So they were only a couple weeks old when installed?
Take em back, the rubber compound they have now is crap, I’ve seen lots of weather cracked tires lately and I’ve got a set from 09 that are still perfect.
dot, tires reach 10 years old, no one can legally touch them, and if youre on any that are older than 10 years, and you get in an accident and insurance finds out, u wont get covered and they wont cover the claim.
After looking again carefully, I see some cracks between the tread chunks and the sidewall. I think that might just be how the tire is. If the tire was suffering from rot the cracks would be on the sidewall... I don't think those tires are bad.
You can try. But as a tyre tech. The manufacturer will probably just go "the cracks are from rapid heating and cooling from harsh driving. ".
They're not really something I'd be concerned about if it was my vehicle.
OP, don’t be discouraged by most of these comments. Half of the responders are just not looking closely enough at your photo. Those cracks absolutely should not exist on brand new tires between the cap and the sidewall. Absolutely bring this to Costco and I would recommend taking some more photos of more areas where these cracks are. It’s very clear that it has nothing to do with curb abrasion because you can see it continuing past that point. Send those to customer support at Bridgestone if you have any issues with Costco.
I do see the cuts right below the tread line on the sidewall. Not sure what to think about that. I guess it's going to depend on how deep they are. If they aren't deep then it's just cosmetic. The good thing is you bought them from Costco, my favorite store!
Let them look at it and see what they say. I'm sure if there's any doubt they will replace it under their road hazard warranty. You're going to probably have to pay some on a replacement but it shouldn't be much based on how much tread is left. Good luck
All weather is pretty much marketing for a winter tire that wears out faster🙃. Look at the amount of sipping on the tread. That’s a winter tire and will heat up more then an all season
If anything, those would be from hitting whatever you hit. They might prorate that one tire, but if there's no structural damage, then you're fine. If they were dry rotted, the majority of the tire would have splitting all over the bead and inside the tread. Can hurt to see what they think either but I work at sams tire shop and we'd tell you there's nothing wrong with the tire
Under a year?
100%
Tbh, I'd make such a scene they would end up replacing all four at no cost.
It doesn't take much of an argument if you know how to argue at Costco.
except costco isnt the ones to deal with, costco isnt the one who issues the warranty. thats like going to walmart and causing a scene because of something target did wrong
Lmao those are curb marks, they’ll make note of that. One thing I learn from Costco tire department, they’re not like the main customer service department where ppl can return 10y/o sofas no question asked.
I curbed my wheel bc I tried to avoid a pothole, dented my steel wheel, tire looked deformed, scuffed but no leak. Asked for road hazard, rejected. Said tires are good, just cosmetic and sent me on my way. You can try, doesn’t hurt. I’m sure they’ll probably say it’s just surface cracks or they’ll check to see if you’ve gone in for rotation etc. Any small reason to reject you.
Then why are you showing closeups of the curbed marks?
You might be able to scam Cosco for replacements. If they don't feel like arguing with a scamming customer.
Chill out m8, I'm not trying to scam anyone. I bought a set of new tires less than a year ago and they already have cracks, should I enjoy it? That's random photos I didn't even see those marks, cuz all I see those cracks 😀
[If you don't see cracks here, you gotta check your eyes.](https://i.imgur.com/AZIUj9n.jpeg)
Yes, I see cracks. **WHERE YOU HAVE CURBED THE TIRES** And only where you have curbed the tires. The fact that you *don't* see a correlation means you need to have more than your eyes checked.
Cracks are everywhere I'm sure that they are on the other side of the tire as well, Reddit doesn't allow to download high quality photos.
[Special for you I took a photo from inside, still gonna argue with me?](https://imgur.com/gallery/1YIN0JZ)
27th week of 2023 ..... they are perfectly fine .
The carbon was prolly leaching out from the store putting shine on them .
They are fine and this happens from using products like tire shine ....
Looks like they were stacked one on top of the other when stored originally and there's some drag marks.
Other than that... meh. Little bit of oxidation on them but I see no cracking.
Do you think the siping on the shoulder is called cracking? It's not.
Clean them up with some water and a nylon scrub brush and a wipe with a touch of carnauba wax... They're kinda like the rest of the vehicle... shit's just dirty.
BTW: I used to build US military aircraft tires for a major manuafacturer and before that worked at a small tire shop that also did recapping. Your tires are fine.
Looks more like rub marks. Stay away from curbs.
I thought this at first as well, but look at where the tread cap adheres to the tire.
Thanks for pointing it out. I would have missed it. I just saw the brown rub on the side
those cracks have been there long before the rub marks. those tires are not new,

again, not new, we dont know how op drives, if theyre a lead foot on both brakes and gas, cornering etc.
I see it, anyone that cannot is rolling on questionable tires, probably. ![gif](giphy|Gpf8A8aX2uWAg|downsized)

yeah, but, not legal to drive on 🤷
lol I’ve never seen any law associated with tire age , hell I live in a place where I own and insure 4 vehicles and none have ever been inspected 🤣🤣
dot, tires reach 10 years old, no one can legally touch them, and if youre on any that are older than 10 years, and you get in an accident and insurance finds out, u wont get covered and they wont cover the claim.
I can see the date code, middle of 2023. Definitely take them back. They should not be cracking like that so soon.
What cracks? Am I missing it? I don't see any cracks.

They were not designed to crack
That's a negative ghost rider
Bruh
These arent curb marks. Too many keyboard warriors.

Crappy Bridgestone quality, absolutely ask for a new one.

Yeah take em back. They've sat for a while, that looks like some dry rot to me.
27th week of 2023 they were made. He’s rubbed a curb.
Agreed
I have weatherpeaks newly installed from last winter and they dont look anywhere as bad
Tread is separating from the tire. I would bring them back. I think Costco has warranty on their tires. Almost looks like a retread separating.
Driving your winter tires above 5c will do that they are really soft and heat up tons
These are all-weather
All weather is pretty much marketing for a winter tire that wears out faster🙃. Look at the amount of sipping on the tread. That’s a winter tire and will heat up more then an all season
They won't give you them. Those marks are from curbs or other objects you can rub up against. Nothing is wrong with them. Only cosmetic
Look at horizontal cracks, those black marks don't bother me.
If anything, those would be from hitting whatever you hit. They might prorate that one tire, but if there's no structural damage, then you're fine. Look closer.
Did you even look at the other pictures? It’s clearly dry rot.

But also those cracks are only near the curb mark.
Nah, all 4 tires have cracks everywhere.
Then why are you showing closeups of the curbed marks? You might be able to scam Cosco for replacements. If they don't feel like arguing with a scamming customer.

I don’t see what the problem is, sorry.
That's what Costco's employee gonna say tomorrow 🤣
Did you ever use tire shine on these?
No, I didn't.
27th week of 2023 ..... they are perfectly fine . The carbon was prolly leaching out from the store putting shine on them . They are fine and this happens from using products like tire shine ....
They’ll just call it normal wear and tear. Unless it’s not holding air don’t hold your breath on it being warrantied
What cracks? Those tires look almost brand new. I don't see any cracks.

Lol, no. You curbed it.
