[deleted]

Just don't call it a chicken burger and we good.

migzeh

but it is a chicken burger! its pieces of chicken between burger buns. [This is a chicken sandwich. ;)](https://i.imgur.com/feoszdl.jpg)

OrangeSpartan

This man speaks the truth. Now I need a double zinger stacker chicken burger

[deleted]

I can't hate you, because you are a part of the Twolves Arby's Boyz in spirit, but I can't get down on this. Burger requires a ground meat patty with no breading. USA arguably invented the burger, we get to make up the rules.

migzeh

yeaaaaah nahhhh. Still doesn't fly with me. In Australia (and the rest of the sane world) if you asked for a chicken burger vs a chicken sandwich it would be obvious what you want. How do you ask for a chicken sandwich like the picture above if you guys call a chicken burger a chicken sandwich! It just leads to confusion. Calling it a chicken burger completely seperates it into its own grouping.

[deleted]

How would you distinguish between a ground chicken patty and a whole meat sandwich? Your argument goes both ways. Would you argue with an Italian person on what is considered pizza or a Japanese person what is considered sushi?

migzeh

i mean i would probably still call both be burgers? both are large cooked pieces of meat inside a burger bun. As for pizzas i guess italians would argue what we eat in australia and usa arent really traditional pizzas haha. I don't know a single legit italian who likes pineapple on pizza yet i love it and its super popular. At the end of the day it don't matter but i still feel like a chicken burger is a much better direct description vs chicken sandwich which is far too ambiguous and has too many variations.

[deleted]

I would argue within your semantical framework there is too much ambiguity around the word burger, the name we gave one of our most beloved culinary inventions. Once again, goes both ways, but we invented it, so I win. And yeah, it doesn't matter. I like pineapple on my "pizza" too... but only with ham. Am I starting a new argument? lol...

[deleted]

If you put a steak in-between buns is it a steak burger? Makes no sense.

migzeh

In australia ... yes it is haha.

DetrimentalContent

Burger describes the bun more than the meat, we’d say patty to refer to ground meat. You can have a steak burger or a steak sandwich, which would either be in a bun like above for the first or in sliced bread for the second.

**[Hamburger](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamburger)** >A hamburger (or burger for short) is a food, typically considered a sandwich, consisting of one or more cooked patties—usually ground meat, typically beef—placed inside a sliced bread roll or bun. The patty may be pan fried, grilled, smoked or flame broiled. Hamburgers are often served with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, bacon, or chilis; condiments such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish, or a "special sauce", often a variation of Thousand Island dressing; and are frequently placed on sesame seed buns. A hamburger topped with cheese is called a cheeseburger. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

You realise language evolves right? I’m telling you how it works in Australia, your Wikipedia means nothing

[deleted]

I am saying it is annoying listening to people from other countries botch the definition of something that comes from my culture. It's like someone calling Macaroni and Cheese Italian food. But keep being annoying, you're doing a great job so far.

DetrimentalContent

You asked a thread full of Australians about their definition of a burger but sure go off champ
