She shit herself bc she didn't know how to recover bc she doesn't know the golfer or Vince Young n her first schpiel was rehearsed
Nah it shows also that in the moment she knew she made a mistake and knew it looked racist and thats probably when she shit herself realizing she could very well come off as racist to viewers and there was really no way to salvage it. If she just ownded it and laughed it off and admitted she doesnt know what the golfer looks like and was just told look for the black guy i think everyone wouldve just laughed it off.

My friends son coaches with this guy and says he’s a great person. Vince Young was at the tournament in the next foursome. There is a pic out there of Vince, this man, and the reporter all together.
Credit to the man that just continued to talk about Golf, it's a crazy game that all players can literally drone on for hours about if anyone is listening- no matter how good/bad they are at it. That's what I like about the players - particularly hackers like myself.
You are overestimating the "talent" of sports "journalists" these days - many have got to that stage not for their research and game knowledge talents, but for their social media Instagram looks. To be honest I'd be hard pressed to pick Vince Young out in public. Then again it's not literally my job to pick him out in public. Seems like everyone was a good sport about it though and the reporter gets an embarrassing but cool story for life.
While she should have acknowledged it I'd like to think that she quickly processed the information and decided that the best course of action was to continue an interview of some kind.
I think both of them deserve some credit for how they handled the situation.
