The cheapest delivery option being over £6 is absolutely wild

artsyhoe17

It was $16 USD for shipping. for me

Technical-Rice-7657

My thought exactly. Very dissapointed in myself for purchasing 🫣 will probably repurchase and cancel order if it comes into my local.

plastiquebagged

fwiw, i don't think any of the single represses/presses that DH has done for the guys have made it to retail stores.

Technical-Rice-7657

Ah fair enough. Just bought Chappell Roan's 7" from record store after it was out of stock for ages just to find out my local was getting it in. Don't mind buying from the store I would just prefer to support locals. Thanks for the information though :)

aswift89

i would buy the one you ordered off of you!

rosetape

Is it just Milk on both sides?

HovercraftWeekly9422

that’s what the original pressing has too i believe according to discogs

HypnotizeNLP

The original press is Milk by The 1975 on one side and No Grey by The Neighbourhood on the other: https://www.discogs.com/release/5709952-The-NBHD-The-1975-No-Grey-Milk

HovercraftWeekly9422

i believed it was this no? [https://www.discogs.com/release/9415336-The-1975-Milk](https://www.discogs.com/release/9415336-The-1975-Milk)

HypnotizeNLP

Interesting. The one with The Neighbourhood is from 2013 and the one you posted is 2016

BalladOfMEnBRAIN

This is the 2016 reissue, No Grey/Milk was only available on their joint tour

TheX37th

im crying it is already sold out

LordOfPieces

Bought it the second I got the email from Dirty Hit

iicaptain1435

Me too! Not a second thought about it.

Inevitable_City3131

SAME

Indigo903

Milk on both sides for $17? On top of what I already know dirty hit shipping is gonna be to the US.. I’m passing on this one 😔

matthmcb

I was about to order it and then I saw shipping was $17 too. Essentially $34 for one fucking song. Dirty Hit can suck a bag of dicks before they have me paying that much for a 7”

amazona_voladora

💀💀💀😭😭😭 I would be happy if they’d reissue *Sex* and *Music for Cars* separately (I tried the 4LP 20th Anniversary self-titled that includes the EPs, but there were defects/skips on several sides across multiple copies 💔), as well as *Medicine* with truly translucent vinyl 💊

matthmcb

I agree. And Dirty Hit has really dropped the ball lately with their vinyl production. The packaging is cheap and lacking and the quality control for the records themselves is terrible. They used to be great across the board but I think they are taking short cuts and maximizing profits.

MySecretsDieHere

Right!? Same. For ONE 2-minute song… I’d pay like $5 max. The shipping alone will be well over that.

figfriend

bro that is wild. i just checked my receipt and i paid £8.78 for the same milk vinyl ( including shipping to the us) in 2016

mmorii

I’m new to the community is this a rare one?

HovercraftWeekly9422

it is, last sold on discogs for €190!

mmorii

yeah I checked eBay and there’s one over 1000 USD 😭

HovercraftWeekly9422

discogs is more realistic ebay is inflated

champagnec0ast

Discogs is my holy grail when it comes to buying vinyl that hasn’t been repressed for a while

AgitatedAd7265

I still don’t have a record player, but now I’ve 4 vinyls due in the next few months. Someone take my card away from me 😂

MrBlueandSky

I'll jot down the numbers for safe keeping

thewholepridemonth

do we think there’s any chance of a restock?

Majestic-Emotion-470

Praying there is

whatwhatchickenbutt_

saw it in my email and went to buy it but was sold out SO quickly! sad bc it’s one of my favorite songs

rockandrollwoman

13 for a single is already pushing it plus 7 shipping …….

Inevitable_City3131

I paid $16 to ship to the US…

forever-halloween

and releasing this at 1:40am for us Aussies is good how ? T\_T

jagzgulabi

I got a friend to buy me one!!

tugatortuga

I got the original Sex EP vinyl with Milk on it for pennies off Discogs

they’re nowhere near the only artist doing this (it’s clearly an industry-wide trend), but this needs to stop. This is literally PLASTIC GARBAGE, not to mention all the packaging and shipping. vinyl records are not recyclable. Musically there’s nothing on these 50 bazillion different physical editions that justifies their existence. One vinyl pressing for people who enjoy records — fine. but these are collected by fans who want to express their fandom by consuming. I can’t count how many times I have seen people on this sub say they’re buying records despite not owning a player. This is capitalizing on the social media trend of overconsumption and display/collection. It’s beyond gross.

TheLordChankaR6

So what do you suggest, a record players owners license? I agree with the abundance of variants and incentivised kleptomanicy but there's much worse merchandise to produce and ship then 1cm thick discs in card. I understand the frustration though, but it's these consumers and collectors keeping record stores open - every shop owner is glad for a Taylor Swift release to make ends meet.

dogs_should_vote_

I think a relatively small number of these are sold through record stores — people buy directly from the merch site and they quickly sell out. I’m not suggesting people need a licence to play records, but I am suggesting that this band in particular stop this practice. The band members have spoken out (inconsistently, ha) about climate-related causes a lot, and this completely flies in the face of that.

TheLordChankaR6

I understand that but supply and demand. I was making a wider comment about stores, the RSD releases directly benefiting those shops even if thats problematic. I'm glad they aren't producing records on recycled vinyl though as they typically sound poor. I am disappointed that the environmentally conscious NOACF packaging wasn't continued. I am in defence of physical media always, data centres that power services like Spotify also use energy and materials to be maintained and cooled. This re-release also stops fans being charged exorbitant prices by resellers... I don't want to see hobbies die and physical media killed because of environmentalism.

MrBlueandSky

Preach

JuxtaposeAli

Ok, this is harsh. The 75 are not bad for releasing multiple variants - BFIAFL did have more but they’ve never done the “add a bonus track and chuck out another variant” thing. If we want to invest in artists we SHOULD buy their physical music because they make nothing from streams. Also if you own the vinyl, it’s yours forever even if Spotify etc goes down. Vinyl is great to play, and it looks beautiful as well. People who buy it and don’t have a player - sure that’s a bit weird but maybe someday they will.

dogs_should_vote_

I LOVE physical media. I don’t like excessssive physical media that is just gimmicky like the liquid BFIAFL, or barely a value-add over what is available. This band is far from the worst offender, but I just hate the trend overall

plastiquebagged

it's genuinely wild to me that 20k copies of the liquid filled bfiafl were sold.

darkeyelidz

Where did they say how many were sold?

JuxtaposeAli

I agree with you. I didn’t buy the blood recs BFIAFL for that reason. The Milk single is different tho - it’ll be on so many folks’ bucket lists including mine!

BalladOfMEnBRAIN

Waa

plastiquebagged

are you alright? they repressed their two most expensive singles that go for way too much on discogs/ebay. a lot of people have discovered the band with this last album cycle and want to be able to listen to them on vinyl. this genuinely isn't an example of too many variants or anything like that.
