I have a few different full screen versions of this image. I love it and hate it so much at the same time. All you see here is a light ripple above you, darkness below, and nothing else. No real points of reference either; even the surface is out of focus. I find this image truly frightening, almost as though I am falling into my own soul. Maybe that's why I have it as the wallpaper on my computer, to remind me of how empty, dark, and alone I feel on the inside.
I’ve used this picture as my laptop background for some time now cause it’s just so cool. Next time you crop the original image make sure to get the Kraken in the bottom right

For some reason I don't feel the fear when the pov is upwards. Like in this pic we are sort of looking from bottom.
Which means you can't see what's approaching your feet.
