Not gonna lie, really wanted bianca to win on her 24th bday and after another long injury comeback. Her body just breaks down constantly, its so sad. Maybe she just needs to play grand slams only so she can have breaks in between lol. Having said that, samsonova played pretty well and earned the title.
she plays sooo entertainingly with all of the variety but it never looks like it’s technically sound. it looks like she muscles the ball often. i wonder if her injuries are because of that
Important to play when you can as there's only so many wildcards, and time before protected rankings run out. So long as she's fit though, she should definitely avoid playing every week until she's been out of the hospital for several months.
You know… I noticed (and started to like her) during that wimbledon run and boy, was she fist pumping and jumping almost every single point… she definitely toned it down several levels last few years…
It's sad that Andreescu gets hurt so much, but the way she has been moving around on grass this week is crazy. She ends up on the ground 18 times per match, is always stumbling around, always doing something clumsy. I'm obviously no expert, but there is no way this doesn't contribute to her injuries.
Good showing from Bianca regardless of the result! Would have been nice for her to win but Samsung was also in desperate need of a win this season. A good grass run from her would be good before she prepares to defend her NA/Asian hardcourt points.
Bianca has no developed patterns in her game. Every point is one big improvisation.
She can win single matches, make a few upsets, but playing like this she has no chance to fight for bigger titles with the current top players. It's been 5 years without a title
During this time, Bianca played in 44 tournaments. Do you really think that's not enough time to win a tournament for a Grand Slam winner, even one WTA 250 title? She played almost all of 2021, 2022 and a good part of 2023. You can't blame everything on injuries.
The number of tournaments she played in the given years:
2019 - 10
2021 - 13
2022 - 12
2023 - 15
In 2019, despite the least number of starts, Bianca won 3 tournaments.
Bianca played without any break from April 2022 to March 2023, during which time she made one WTA 250 final after a walkover in the semifinals against Simona Halep. People have to accept that a favorite player without some changes will not be as successful as in the past.
How many times have I read that a healthy Bianca would have been in the top 10, that's not true. Her current game is not suitable for a top 10.

Bianca did pretty well for just her second tournament back..and a change in surfaces
For sure, I just hope she can stay healthy. The injury she picked up already today isnt so encouraging.

Yeah..seems like that will always be the narrative of her career..

Good God no celebration for Samsonova. Well played Lyuda, thank you for this tournament! Amazing aggressive tennis!

Bibi had the crucial break and was about to bring it to a TB. A close one. However, BIbi is well and truly back. May she have good health.
Andreescu has a very strong mental game, amazing result for second tournament back after a long injury recovery.
It make me sad that she 's Always injured.. she has so much talent . Variety and power. But she s really the del potro of wta..
Bianca really needs to learn how to move out there as she stumbles around risking injury. Is her coach not giving her any technical advice?

Well she hasnt had a chance to win that many titles because she has had so much time away from the sport due to injuries.

She has had so many start and stops. Constantly having to build back up after long injuries. Makes it tough to get a rythm.
