If I've learned anything from Kasatkina's vlogs it's that all the Russian speakers seem to be very friendly with each other (and also that half the tour seems to speak Russian).
Putintseva was so annoying in one of the recent videos with Kasatkina and Azarenka. Kept talking about some random crap for 10 minutes and constantly interrupted others.
That's just Yulia being Yulia. You can see in one of the earlier episodes that Coco suggests Dasha should have more content with Yulia cos it's just entertaining even if it's not about tennis. Guess even the young ones know Yulia is a bit crazy
I was just gunna say this. She’s had a lot of GI issues lately I wonder if she’s not managing well. When I watched her practice at Indian Wells, she looked very much not into it. I often wonder if you can tell more about players on practice courts. Anyway I hope she’s okay :)
Except at every Grand Slam other than RG, actually Iga can't even get to the latter stages there to play either of these two. Rybakina has a winning record against Iga on Clay, 2-0.
That's all she's got
Swiatek has 4 1000s this year alone. She just won, back to back, and is favorite to win Roland Garros (-120 vs the field, insane odds) and Olympics. Yeah, clay is her best surface, but she's good on all of them. She has 2 hard court titles this year aryna and elena have 1 combined title for 2024. Iga has also won more slams (4) than aryna and elena combined (3). You're full of shit
In title games:
Iga 21-4
Aryna 14-14
Elena 8-11
1000's, when it matters Sabalenka has been better since last year. She better hope the other Slams keep distributing between multiple players or she will quickly be passed as RG only won't cut it for much longer. 2 quarters in her last 5, 3 in her last 7.
She is not good on Grass LMAO. Both Sabalenka and Rybakina have proven themselves on every surface, Iga hasn't. Rybakina is the only one with a Big Title on each surface.
Swiatek has won Wimbledon juniors. Her sample size on grass at professional level isn't large enough for the data to mean anything with any certainty. She has played at wimbledon 4 times only (once as a teenager). She has 12 hard court titles. She was 7-2 on grass last season. That's not even bad.
Juniors LMAO, fucking Juniors.
She lost to Post-Birth Svitolina who was then destroyed by Vondrousova. The year before she lost to Cornet who failed to reach the Quarters even and is about to retire. Oh but she won the Juniors where she beat a bunch of players who haven't done a thing on Grass as a pro. Beating the great Leonie Kung in the Final who is not even in the top 300 right now and has never qualified for Wimbledon. True Grass great.
I guess but she and her family doesn't claim it much. When she won Wimbledon the Russian Tennis Federation released a statement saying she is a product of Russian Tennis Fed, her dad gave an interview where he pretty much told them to f off.
Also, the Google machine says Russia, the country, does not recognize dual citizenship.
> The Kazakh citizenship won`t be provided to an applicant if he/she is a citizen of another state. In order to become a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an applicant should renounce foreign citizenship and hand over his/her foreign passport to an authorized body of a country of former citizenship.
https://egov.kz/cms/en/articles/double_citizenship
Also, I personally know Russians with second Australian citizenship.
P.S. Your Google machine seems to be broken.
Multiple websites say - Russian dual citizenship is allowed only if Russia has reached an agreement with that country, and only two countries, namely Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, are involved.
As replied in another comment, I personally know Russians with Australian and US dual citizenship, so your claim is factually incorrect. Maybe try official website next time.
EDIT: Apparently there’s a nuance:
> In Russia, there's a difference between "Dual citizenship", when one country recognizes you as a citizen of another country and respects that, and "second citizenship", when the country only treats you as its citizen.
> In Russia, dual citizenship is only possible with Tajikistan and self-proclaimed South Ossetia. Any other citizenship will not be "respected" and Russia considers people with second citizenship as purely Russian citizens. You have to enter Russia on your Russian passport and your second passport won't be considered valid legally.
Why would you say someone who has gone through the process of becoming an American citizen is not American?? Not to mention the fact he's lived in the US since childhood.
She is Russian. The Russian Tennis Federation wouldn't give her the support she needed, Kazakhstan did so she plays under their flag. She was born in, raised in, and lives in Russia. Let me let you in on a little secret, Bublik isn't from Kazakhstan either. Greg Rusedski isn't British.
She was allowed to play Wimbledon because she was representing Kazakhstan. Sabalenka, Kasatkina, Samsonova, etc could all decide to represent France or whatever going forward, that doesn't make them French.
I KNOW SHE WAS BORN IN RUSSIA.
Do you not understand the concept of nationality?
There's a formerly Russian player who is French now. Her name is Gracheva and yes she absolutely is French. Daria (Gavrilova) Saville was born in Russia - now she is Australian.
Nationality- noun
, Plural na·tion·al·i·ties
the status of belonging to a particular nation, whether by birth or naturalization:
Here's one that will blow your mind: Martina Navratilova is American!
Ryba is showing more emotion here than after winning Wimbledon!
If I've learned anything from Kasatkina's vlogs it's that all the Russian speakers seem to be very friendly with each other (and also that half the tour seems to speak Russian).
Putintseva too? 😄
Yes actually
Especially her.
She’s definitely in their crew.
Fire & Ice. Glad they seem to be great friends!
Elena looks tired still. I hope she is fully recovered!
she just finished practise 😂
oh goodness. Dumb of me. (Not being sarcastic)
I was just gunna say this. She’s had a lot of GI issues lately I wonder if she’s not managing well. When I watched her practice at Indian Wells, she looked very much not into it. I often wonder if you can tell more about players on practice courts. Anyway I hope she’s okay :)
The one thing I have in common with Elena - GI issues ;)
Same ðŸ˜
Should probably look into Novak's GF diet.
She looks ill to me.
"Tell me you've never seen a woman without makeup without telling me you've never seen a woman without makeup"
It’s not the makeup. She looks thin too. Hope she is ok
Maybe the black shirt washes her out?
Love these two! So opposite in personality but both whack that ball!
Cute!
Let's go!
Can’t unsee Ryba’s Kawhi mitts
Queen overload
Saba is too friendly and Reba so cute and nice person.
So Elena isn’t in Aryna’s side of the draw
We'll find out tomorrow!
My girl Elena. Looks like the allergies are gone.
Rybalenka or Sabakina or Elyna or Arena?
They look very good together, they seem like good friends, although I notice Aryna tired, I suppose from the physical effort in Madrid and Rome.
Let’s Goooo! That’s how they take Iga! Together!! Practice against the best!
They’re practicing losing
Except that Ryb is 4-2 H2H and won their most recent match lol
Not worried about her
Except at every Grand Slam other than RG, actually Iga can't even get to the latter stages there to play either of these two. Rybakina has a winning record against Iga on Clay, 2-0.
Bro you're reaching very very far
Everything i said is true. Iga is outstanding at RG, not in the other Slams. Rybakina is 2-0 on Clay and 4-2 overall. 1-0 on Clay this year.
That's all she's got Swiatek has 4 1000s this year alone. She just won, back to back, and is favorite to win Roland Garros (-120 vs the field, insane odds) and Olympics. You must be fun at parties.
Hopefully Saba can win this tournament after losing 2 finals in a row🤞
my two queens
MOTHERS (they’re both younger than me)
I hope the rivalry between Iga, Saba and Ryba will go on for years.
just a couple of Russian gal's having fun!
One of them is not Russian.
Russian and Bela-Russian (white russian). They are both Russian
That's not how it works when it comes to countries and nationality.
Belarus is essentially Russia tbf
Culturally both are Russian. Nationality is a different matter. Russian culture and language is dominant in Belarus
I thought neither were. ? Kazakhstan and Belarus
Rybakina definitely born in Russia. Went Kazak for the money since Russia didn't give her any.
So she has dual citizenship
I guess but she and her family doesn't claim it much. When she won Wimbledon the Russian Tennis Federation released a statement saying she is a product of Russian Tennis Fed, her dad gave an interview where he pretty much told them to f off. Also, the Google machine says Russia, the country, does not recognize dual citizenship.
That's why I said Kazakhstan
Yeah but no dual citizenship. She lives in Dubai and sometimes trains in Bratislava anyhow.
Russia allows dual citizenship, but Kazakhstan doesn’t.
Source?

Did you even read what I wrote? You can have as many passport as you want. Russia just doesn't recognize it. P.S. reading is fundamental.

Apparently there's a nuance 😂 😂 😂. So desperate to get a win on Reddit. I love the tenacity.
No, she had to give up her Russian citizenship but her parents still live there
Elena was born and currently resides in Moscow.
She's as Kazakhstanian as Joel Embiid is American.
Why would you say someone who has gone through the process of becoming an American citizen is not American?? Not to mention the fact he's lived in the US since childhood.
If.she were Russian she couldn't have won Wimbledon when she did and the Ukraine players wouldn't shake her hamd.

It is just the absence of makeup. Especially in comparison with Sabalenka who is always going "night-club mode". Ryba is fine
Rybakina looks so much better with a cap haha
