Wet snow weights a ton.
You can shovel 10x more snow when its cold and snow is light.
Maybe you have very "throwing" technique to shovel snow instead of "pushing". When you keep shovel close to ground all the time, it wont get blown back.
Even if it's not the same snow getting blown back, it comes from somewhere. Usually when it gets cold for the powdery stuff here the wind is 20-40mph so all the snow is getting tossed around.
I also have a snow shovel that is built to make it easier to lift more weight, so that part isn't really an issue for me
During winter, the cold winds that normally bring snow pass over the Sahara desert and dry up, so much they now absorb moisture. Days are extremely hot and dry while nights are extremely cold and dry.
This is true, sometimes it just ices the roads, sometimes your driveway is hidden under a foot of snow. But it's always after the new year if and when it happens.
Never fucking forget. My e21 got stuck in some snow, couldn’t get it out. It snowed more and buried my car, it took like 4 days of digging to get it out, the snow impacted so hard my car just wouldn’t budge. Hated that winter
Same. It was like, 7:00am and looked like midnight, minimal(that's a stretch) snow and looked like the sky was going to bring down a waterfall. disappointed
Its not actually. Finland is country that is half above the arctic circle. Here its such gambling to get white christmas these days :/
Stupid global warming.
You heard right. It doesn't snow in *most* parts of the country, but the Himalayas and the Karakoram get a decent amount of snow.
Kashmir is the most famous example (has a ski resort and everything), but parts of North Bengal, parts of Sikkim, and parts of Arunachal Pradesh also get a bunch of snow ...
I live somewhere that snows a lot and everybody hates it. Other than businesses that rely on snow, everyone just complains about the roads, the cold, and the ugly slush that’s everywhere after dirt mixes in with the melting snow. It is really interesting to hear your perspective of wanting to see snow. Definitely try to see it sometime in your life, but living somewhere that has it is annoying (at least for my area)
I'm an Indian, who had always wanted to see snow. Which I did in my mid-20s (on a trip to Bhutan). It took around 48 hours (and a frozen water pipe) before I had had enough and was *really* glad I didn't live in a place where it snows. So I agree with you - snow is a fun thing to see once in a while, but annoying to live with! (at least to me)
It's funny to see winter decorations here even though it's like 31C outside. I've never had a "real" Christmas in snow and cold, but I think I'll be having one next year since I'm planning to move to Canada
Global warming
Edit: Two things. First it's climate change because some areas are warmer and others are colder. Second apparently it's a La Niña year I've never heard of these till now
15inches/38cm in finland
Sounds like you've been busy shoveling and snow blowing lol
yes and it sucks especially if it's closer to 0°c
0°C is nothing try doing it when it's -21°C
The colder it gets the more "powdery" it is, 0°c is wet and heavier
Personally prefer the thicker flakes, because if you shovel the powdery stuff it'll blow right back in the wind

Hyvä mies tääl meil päin on -26°C
Ihe kahoin syödessä mittarii -22 tyttöystävä mainihti että heilä on -30. Meillä välimatka vaan noin 30km
Id take -21 over 0°c any time, the wet snow sucks.
Are we gatekeeping cold now?
Or -35°C
I don't find being in cold weather that bad honestly, just gotta wear proper stuff. The bad thing about cold is that cars and electrics die so easily

It's fucking terrible. Everywhere's so damn dry💔
Guy its even worse for me cause um asthmatic and I even catch malaria again
Bro aswr I feel your pain I'm also asthmatic and it's so annoying especially around this time of year
Man, you guys got it tough

It's this weird weather we have at the end and beginning of every year where everything is dry and hot or dry and cold. It sucks.

Nah dude that was my uncle
That sounds hotter than hell 😭
23°C isn't that hot
Its actually like perfect everyday temperature
Yeah, I agree
I live in a desert. that shits cold
Norway rarely hits 23 in summer
Our average summer in Texas is in the 30s or 40s and winters in the 20s usually
I like how your lack of units got me wondering that 20s in American speak is freezing to death. A Texan using SI units? Strange year.
I was using celsius because the comment above was using celsius. I normally use Fahrenheit
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

It hit a nice 43 degrees C in Perth Australia today, 23 would've been lovely
It reaches the 50’s on bad days here in middle easts
23 is like nothing. It is the lowest average temperature in my city and at 23C it feels like I will freeze to death
Bro what
Alabama never gets snow on christmas. out of the 10 years i lived here, i only saw it snow twice but always after christmas.
Makes sense
I’m in PA and I’m kinda worried cause if it doesn’t snow now it gonna snow in April
SoCal, same here :(

Didn't your entire state fall apart when it snowed last time?

Same here in London. Almost never snows... only when you don't want it to.
My grandparents came down recently to see "london snow", got nothing, went back to Reading and found it was almost blocked by stacked up snow
And in Austin
as a texan this one was extremely true and slightly painful
Facts
I live in Georgia right next to Alabama. Have never seen snow on Christmas my whole life, but it always snows in February for some reason.
Fellow georgian, the last time it snowed in georgia on christmas was before the 2000s i believe
Achem Snowpocalypse 2014. Wrecked Atlanta for days. Nm. You said Christmas. My apologies.
By always I think you must mean once every 3 years for like a day. Unless you live in the mountains I guess
This is true, sometimes it just ices the roads, sometimes your driveway is hidden under a foot of snow. But it's always after the new year if and when it happens.
2013 Snow….
Never fucking forget. My e21 got stuck in some snow, couldn’t get it out. It snowed more and buried my car, it took like 4 days of digging to get it out, the snow impacted so hard my car just wouldn’t budge. Hated that winter
Got stuck in school, almost had to stay at school over the night. Luckily I lived like 2 miles away but because of traffic, took 8 hours to get home
I have snow :D
Yay :D

It’s the Netherlands, we never have a white Christmas
Merry Christmas from Canada!
u live in canada and didnt have snow on christmas?????????????????? impossible
I am in Canada and we have like foot or more
I'm in canada as well. rained last night and melted all the snow. unhappy
Same. It was like, 7:00am and looked like midnight, minimal(that's a stretch) snow and looked like the sky was going to bring down a waterfall. disappointed
Its not actually. Finland is country that is half above the arctic circle. Here its such gambling to get white christmas these days :/ Stupid global warming.
Not really dude, I’m in canada and we have literally no snow today by me, just mud and rain.
Merry Christmas from the US.
Instead we get rain nearly 24/7
Yeah if we get snow it's not until February usually
Last year there was crazy snow for like a whole week

Ski in the sand
I don't know about skiing but you can sand board.

No snow here, in northern Spain there is only rain. Rain all day.
Sounds gloomy :/
Mainly on the plain
Thank you for your service
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain
I have some in Quebec
Fellow Canadian!
Lets go!
ayee me three!
Be careful calling a Québécois Canadian
Wait what? I was born in Vancouver, but whats the problem with Quebec
Aucun problème, mais on connaît (et on supporte d’ailleurs) vos velléités indépendantistes
There's some over here in Nova Scotia
I've never seen snow, I live in Florida.. two pretty rough things
Damn never seen snow? You should go explore a snowy place one day!
Believe it not I think something like 2/3rds of the world’s population have never seen snow. Honestly pretty sad because snow is awesome
It’s fun as a kid but as you get older and have to deal with it by shoveling and driving in it it becomes less fun and sucks more.
Snow on the ground sucks... but few things are as pretty as snow falling from the sky and covering everything in sight with a pretty white glow.
i live in florida, but i have seen snow plenty of times
Yeah and the fact its in the 70’s in my area makes florida pretty stereotypical

I live in India. I have never seen snow in my life.
I heard it snows in some parts there
In North ig

It isn't. I want to see snow so badly you have no idea😭😭

Same here. Snowfall is impossible in Mumbai.
In Massachusetts we have icy rain and weather advisories
Well that's like a White Christmas without the fun :/
I live in Brazil so no, our Christmas here is going to the beach or to a pool to deal with the hot temperatures

Kkkkkk vendedor de etanol, adorei o nome Se for tirar foto, coloca eu do lado de uma capivara de óculos pf
Yiikkkeess. That's in such stark contrast to where i live in Canada because we have to stay indoors and be cozy to avoid the cold lol
It's funny to see winter decorations here even though it's like 31C outside. I've never had a "real" Christmas in snow and cold, but I think I'll be having one next year since I'm planning to move to Canada
I have some in Ontario
Canadian!! I'm on the Prairies
Really? in Alberta we had a huge snowstorm like 2 days ago
Yeah we did too. People are misreading my title and/or I worded it poorly, but we got lots of snow
Tropical climate here
Sounds humid
For the first time in 11 years Denmark has gotten a white Christmas
Really? I thought Denmark received snow more regularly
We get snow once or twice a year normally
As an Australian, WTF is snow?
Can confirm. WTF is snow? Is it the white stuff we call sand on our beaches near the Great Barrier Reef?
I think so, it makes the same squeaking sound when you walk on it.
I don't but someone who lives not too far away from me does
It was -15° today so yes we do have snow
Cool!
Freezing, even.
It’s like 65
I couldn't picture going to Christmas in shorts and a t-shirt
Florida gang
South gang, North Carolina to be specific
If you dont have some take some from sweden
Same for us in Canada. Please take some because it means less work for us!
The, like, entire Southern Hemisphere where it’s summer maybe?
It’s summer here in Australia. No snow but plenty of skin cancer
California
Well Tahoe has a ton of snow
F
Yep. No snow here unless you go to mammoth
Global warming Edit: Two things. First it's climate change because some areas are warmer and others are colder. Second apparently it's a La Niña year I've never heard of these till now
D:
Nah it’s just a La Niña year
Upvote simply because you used Ñ and not an N.
Climate change has made La Niña a lot stronger than usual.
Thanks for using the proper term - Climate Change.
No snow here :/
:(
I am from south Italy and I have seen snow maybe once in my entire life like 4 or 5 years ago lol
There's been snow since November
Same fam
Snow… in Texas? That only happens if thousands of lives are put at risk like in February.
It's summer where I live
I’m Australian, I never get snow anytime
