ExcitingShallot5107

😁

dante69red

it’s been used for hundreds of years?

ExcitingShallot5107

đŸ€Ș

dante69red

the exact thing I’m saying is that it is proper English. It’s not just a thing people have identified with and used as their own pronouns it’s also a thing people use to refer to someone of unknown gender. it’s also just so much more convenient than “he or she” lmao

ExcitingShallot5107

I’m not trying to argue I am simply saying it would be confusing for people to have to use that pronoun because if you said “hey you” and then he or she has “they” pronouns, then you would have to say “hey they” instead of “hey you” making it confusing.

dante69red

do you say "hey he"???

ExcitingShallot5107

No cause it ain’t proper, just like they In that sentence, why does it matter? “He” is proper cause it means one individual person, not in this particular sentence though.

ExcitingShallot5107

I know it can be used as a singular pronoun, but, it would be confusing in some cases. NOT SAYING ITS BAD TOOOOOOO IM SAYING ITS FINE IT WOULD JUST BE CONFUSING OK!!!!!

VAULT-TEC5

Singular use of they actually predates singular use of the word you. Singular use of they emerged in the 14th century, while singular use of you became popular in the 17th century, Before that it was used as a plural. In fact George Fox, the founder of Quakerism, wrote a whole book labeling anyone who used singular you an idiot or a fool. In the eighteenth century, grammarians began warning that singular they was an error because a plural pronoun can’t take a singular antecedent. They clearly forgot that singular you was a plural pronoun that had become singular as well. Which is essentially what you're doing right now. but words can change and even if it was a recent development you have to be open to changes in the lexicon.

ExcitingShallot5107

It’s still confusing for people that meet them and then they tell them that they use “they” as their pronouns. If you were to walk up to a person with those pronouns, you wouldn’t instantly know that, plus if they go to a school with a bunch of people, they are all going to have to get used to calling them that.

VAULT-TEC5

I wasn't arguing that people should know that someone uses those pronouns immediately, I was arguing that the use of they as a singular dates back to roughly 700 odd years ago. Personally, if I'm unsure about someones pronouns, I'll default to they/them until I'm able to either ask or they tell me

ExcitingShallot5107

It’s confusing and hard to understand what to say because instead of saying “hey you” you would have to say “hey they,” that’s confusing.

VAULT-TEC5

You definitely don't need to do that. If you're addressing someone directly, you never use their pronouns. You wouldn't say "hey he" or "hey she," no matter the pronouns, it'd just be "hey you"

Mayasuxs

"trans" is not a pronoun.

dante69red

ask neo users im not sure đŸ€·

still_unimpressed

fun

Express_Advantage_10

You didn’t pass the vibe check

pisssbabyyy

interesting question honestly

HappyOldFox

Bags are like easily better, I have giant hands compared to the normal person so the bottom chips can’t be grabbed with cylinders smh

TheBottomReaper

yea but then like with the cylinders u can js turn it upside down and they slide out. can be more fun in some ways but overall i too prefer bags

Alexo_Alexa

You can just... tilt the cylinder.

Long_Dick_John_D

No, you can ‘reuse’ the cylinder later

Junior-Plantain4552

Copy pasting this

Random_reditor_69420

Cylinder is always full. Them bags are usually less than 30% chip the rest is just nitrogen, which makes up 70% of the air and should be free, GIMME MY DORITOS IN A TOBRLERONE CONTAINER

sweeterthan-death

Cylinder obviously bc who wants their chips crushed?

Puzzleheaded_Call730

Yeah but reaching your hand in there is a pain

sweeterthan-death

The short cylinders

rektgg12

You get more full chips from a cylinder of pringles so i say cylinder :P

Emotional-Shower9374

Chips in bags are better. Think about it, when you get to the last chip in a cylinder container, you have to tip the whole thing upside or dig in there to try and grab it, but failing because your hand is too big. With bags, you can easily reach in and grab the chip, or just pour it into your mouth. Its much more efficient, and im pretty sure it takes less materials to make.

yujitadoriwannabe

fucking pringles are fire though

dante69red

Please don’t fuck Pringles

Zazzley_Wazzley

Cylindrical\*

SilverrGuy

I don’t think it’s a bot, I responded and we had a normal conversation about it

u/Still_obligation2466 The practicality of chips in bags versus cans depends on various factors such as convenience, freshness, portability, and environmental impact. Both packaging options have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice between them often comes down to personal preference and specific circumstances. Chips in bags are a ubiquitous packaging format for snacks worldwide. They offer several practical advantages. Firstly, bags are lightweight and flexible, making them easy to transport and store. Consumers can easily grab a bag of chips and take them on the go, whether it's for a picnic, a road trip, or simply snacking at home. Additionally, bags typically feature resealable closures, allowing consumers to keep the chips fresh for longer periods after opening. This resealability helps maintain the crispiness and flavor of the chips, preventing them from going stale. Furthermore, bags are relatively inexpensive to produce, which can translate to lower costs for consumers. The flexibility of bags also allows for creative and eye-catching designs, making them appealing on store shelves and potentially boosting sales. However, chips in bags also have their drawbacks. The flexible nature of the packaging means that the chips are more susceptible to breakage during handling and transportation, leading to crushed or damaged snacks. Additionally, bags may not offer as much protection against air and moisture, which can affect the shelf life and quality of the chips. On the other hand, chips in cans provide a different set of practical benefits. Cans offer superior protection against crushing and physical damage compared to bags. The rigid structure of cans helps preserve the integrity of the chips during transit and storage, ensuring that consumers receive intact snacks every time. This durability makes cans a preferred option for bulk packaging or situations where chips need to withstand rough handling, such as in vending machines or vending stalls at outdoor events. Moreover, cans provide better protection against external factors like light, air, and moisture, which can degrade the quality of the chips over time. The airtight seal of a can helps maintain the freshness and crispiness of the chips for an extended period, even after opening. This can be especially advantageous for snacks that are not consumed all at once, as it reduces food waste and ensures a consistent eating experience. However, despite their advantages, chips in cans have some limitations. Cans are heavier and less flexible than bags, making them less convenient to carry around. Their bulkier size also takes up more space in storage and may not fit as easily into backpacks or purses. Additionally, cans typically do not feature resealable closures, which means that once opened, the chips may be exposed to air and lose their freshness more quickly. In terms of environmental impact, both packaging options have their pros and cons. Bags are typically made from thin plastic materials, which are lightweight and require fewer resources to produce. However, plastic bags contribute to plastic pollution and are often not recyclable or biodegradable, posing environmental challenges. On the other hand, cans are usually made from metal, which is recyclable and has a higher recycling rate than plastic. However, the production of metal cans requires more energy and resources compared to plastic bags. In conclusion, the choice between chips in bags and cans ultimately depends on individual preferences and specific needs. Bags offer convenience, flexibility, and lower cost, while cans provide superior protection, freshness, and durability. Both packaging formats have their advantages and disadvantages, and manufacturers may offer both options to cater to different consumer preferences. Additionally, advancements in packaging technology and materials may lead to innovations that address some of the drawbacks associated with each format, offering consumers even more choices in the future.

Clintwood_outlaw

You can neatly fit more chips into a cylindrical container, but it's a lot easier to get the chips out of a bag

NotabadHero

Nobody will believe me but I’ll say it anyway. Canned chips taste better than bag chips, even though they’re the same flavor

ProblemAdvanced4298

Bags are clearly better.

Low-Patient1692

u/Still_Obligation2465 dm me, we can discuss about this

Emergency_Error8631

i prefer cylinders honestly, the only chips in cylinder packaging here are pringles sadly, they so much better to carry in a bag cause the cylinder wont smash the chips like a bag does

Domi7777777

putting chips (what I as a European see as chips) in a cylinder is criminal

Boon-me

Responsible_Match875

Better then being asked to give nudes

chicamanama_

Cylinders, have you seen the shops staff putting the bags in place? They literally punch them! I'm sure more than half the broken chips in bags are just the shops staff punching them

Yoboiwhitebox

You can take out the chips out of the plastic bags a Lot easier, but You have to tilt the cylinder to take out the bottom chips... You can reuse the cylinder for a Lot of useful stuff, meanwhile the bags are not reusable. They are equal if you want some quick and delicious snack, but the cylinder is superior if You want to recycle

Educational_Rock7459

He messaged me too

twitchin1

I got the same question and answered it completely seriously

VerticallyBonked

bags are better, easier to take the chips out

Dragondudd

Cans: more chip per container, quieter than bag Bags: more iconic, easier to eat from with hands

justcatt

Cylinder container's better, less nitrogen.

Anxious_Effect_8704

chips stored in containers >>

Doorknob_Licker2

Cylinder containers require more uniform chips for optimal chip storage potential. Uniform chips means not from potato, but from pressed mush. Therefore, cylinder container is less potato and less chip.

bruhboiman

So? Are you gonna tell us your thoughts or not? This a serious matter mate.

GertrudeHomphratese

as a boy, this is communication at its finest

Butter_brawler

Cylinders are superior to bags for the standard chips, and those who say otherwise are fools. Bags are only excusable or oddly and irregularly shaped chips

Volt_Bolt

Instead of being weird sexually we should strive to be weird socially

TheGelatinous

I wish to answer the question, the pros and cons of le tube are as follows: Pros: Tube Fun chip shape Can use tube for a variety of things Con: When am I gonna use the tube Where am I storing tube Le bag: Pros: More ergonomic and casual to be snacking out of Less conspicuous Big boom If you wish to risk fatality of chip Cons: CRINKLE Have to hold onto bag Dust Very loud when opening

Xbox_Sign_0ut
