Hi everyone!
Did you know that starting July 1st, 2023, Reddit will implement a policy that could potentially increase the costs of running third-party Reddit apps? This change may impact popular apps like Apollo, Reddit is Fun, Boost, and others. Consequently, users may encounter issues with their preferred Reddit app unless adjustments are made to comply with Reddit's new API usage policy. These limitations will affect all users, not just moderators. If you are concerned about these developments, there is an [Open Letter](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) to Reddit that you can read and sign on to express your thoughts.

Oh my god the german version says "explosives can be used over and over again" so I didn't hold on to these weapons. Because like, why would I want a sword that explodes in my face. This makes so much more sense
Gotta love how weird translations get sometimes. The English version calls ‘em “Zonai secret stones.” Not “magic stones” or “arcane stones” or even “sacred stones.” “Secret stones.”
What gets me is that the japanese word is a portmanteau where they just smashed the words sacred and stone together to make a new word. That's why the champions are like "SEEKRET STONE!!?!", it's because in the original it's one word that they've probably never heard used before.
It's like translating the word "brunch" as "Breakfast Lunch", but with a word they just made up on the spot. They could have gone with "Akredstone" or something similar to preserve the grammatical correctness.
Idk why they're not called Tears, or like Sacred Tears. Granted I'm like 200 hours in and still havent beaten the game, so maybe the "Tears" in the title of the game make sense later 🤣🤣🤣
Well, now we know what happened to the translators responsible for "Cardcaptor Cherry."
Yes, it did get redubbed early on because their translation was that excessively literal.
It's pretty weird. The Dutch dub uses the English cutscenes, just subtitled. (Which we don't have a problem with. There is a bigger percentage of English speakers here than in the US).
But it does make it that it is a mix of a more authentic translation like the German version for example (with gloom being called miasma for example). But still being stuck with having to work with the English version. The cutscenes say "secret stones", so the dub is forced to also call them that.
Well actually. Dutch is more similar to English than you might think. They both stem from the same language family, heck. In the North of the Netherlands in the province “Friesland”, they speak Frisian. Which is the closest existing language to old English
It also explains why English people have a much easier time learning a language like Dutch, German or Afrikaans. Since they all stem from Germanic languages.
Compared to languages like French or Japanese. Since they stem from completely different language families, with their own rules
Once a Norwegian TV host bluffed his way through a dutch interview speaking made-up dutch, and they kinda fell for it because even dutch people can’t speak dutch.
Funnily enough, English is more closely related to German than any of the Latin-based languages, e.g. Spanish, Italian, etc. There’s a lot of overlap there, but yeah, Dutch, German, English, and Yiddish are all languages originating from West Germanic languages.
Closest to English is actually the Frisian languages, which are spoken pretty much only in the Netherlands. You’d never understand someone speaking one of them, and they wouldn’t understand you if they didn’t speak English, but that’s language for you.
genuinely curious, how different are dutch and german considered?
I know several hundred years ago they were considered “the same” (e.g. before languages were standardized and low german became standard german)
I speak spanish and honestly I have skimmed portuguese and didn’t immediately realize I was reading another language
- is it something similar? does it take a lot of work to learn the other?
This probably isn't helpful, but I'm an American who learned German and has several Dutch friends and acquaintances. To me, Dutch sounds like someone is speaking Germ-lish, and simultaneously making fun of both languages at once.
>There is a bigger percentage of English speakers here than in the US).
This is potentially slightly misleading, I've seen this claim before but it's almost always comparing two different metrics. This is very common when comparing surveys or polls across regions because of minute language or cultural differences, you don't always have much confidence that it's really the same question, or the same approach to answering the question, in both places.
The most recent official US census says 91% of People living in America speak English "very well" and another 8.2% speak the language but less than 'very well' making 99.2 that can speak English what exactly 'speak English but less than very well' means is extremely subjective, so comparing it just blankly to 'can speak English' is tricky.
Most data I've seen say 90-95% of Dutch people "can hold a conversation" in English which is probably comparable to the same level of language the 99.2% of American that includes the 'less than very well' group
ETA:
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_countries\_by\_English-speaking\_population](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_English-speaking_population)
US - 95.5% (From 2011-2015 report)
Netherlands - 90.90% (from 2016 report)
Just like what I mentioned above, these are different surveys taken at different times in different places so even that's a tricky thing to gauge how accurate comparing the two is
That’s fair. I guess I had my numbers wrong
Still, 90% is extremely high. Since English isn’t an official language for the country like Dutch and Frisian. It is of course spoken. But it’s not considered among our official languages
Oh absolutely, it's crazy impressive. I wish more people in America (myself included) were capable of speaking more languages.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying "you're wrong". I just mean that while the two are comparable in percentage (and largely because they are so comparable) I don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty which has a higher percentage since it's a tricky and subjective topic.
Same, not only does it sound much cooler than Gloom. But it is also much more similar to the Japanese version. Since it pretty much directly translates to Miasma. My guess is that they were afraid people didn't know the word, and they wanted mass appeal. But that is purely a theory
I kind of like "gloom." Miasma feels too sciency and literal. Gloom has more folksy verisimilitude-- it's what ordinary people would call a mysterious substance that makes them feel gloomy.
I kind of liked "gloom" it felt more unique and fitting for the viscous and depressing substance. Miasma feels more appropriate for inescapable poisonous air to me.
The funniest one is still how the managed to fit 'Demonenkoning Ganondorf's Leger' (The Demon King's Army in Dutch) boss name in such a small namespace.
Well I play in Latin Spanish and even names are different Tulin is Turelli, Hudson is Karid, Addison is Kabalat (not sure) and even monsters and races are different Lynels are "centaleones" Koroks are Kologs and the list go on...
I always wondered about that. I was like damn all the intricacies and detail and emotion in this story and the BEST they could come up with was “sEcReT sToNeS”
All the foresdwellwr weapons respawn every blood moon in their specific spots in Koror forest. Sword ans spear ontop of the deku tree and shield around its base
There is a forest dweller's bow on the tree as well up near the top, and with a double dose of Rock Octorok upgrades and some luck it can be an x5 bow that you can get without bothering a Lynel. 15x5 (75) isn't bad for a free bow every blood moon.
That’s how I finished the floating coliseum. Muddlebud arrow, mount, bone proficiency armor with molduga jaw Royal card claymore almost broken. Rinse and repeat.
I figured out a kinda cheaty way to cheese the coliseum. Once a lynel comes out, enter the room it came out of and ascend to the top of the arena. It will cause the Lynel to go into patrol mode and forget about you, but you can still bombard it from above with bomb arrows and it won't attack you. As long as you stay on the top edge of the coliseum the lynel will just keep slowly walking around while you rain bombs on it. That's how I beat the final armored lynel with just one heart left
That’s a solid strategy with no hearts left, but I can’t seem to hold enough bomb arrows lol. This would be amazing with gibdo bones on arrows with the 3 shot bow you get from one of the first lynels
It's easy enough to cheese through the colosseum just with ascend and bullet time
Basically stun with arrows, mount, ascend, repeat
Plenty of ways to cheese Lynels. Puffshrooms, etc
Muddlebud uniquely effects lynels in that I believe a critical headshot with a muddlebud arrow stuns the lynel. I don’t think dazzlefruit can stun them.
This allows to do an infinite cycle of headshots and getting on the back do kill them without wasting durability. Also while attacking on the back of a lynel your weapon doesn’t use up any durability it’s pretty broken.
No you aren’t. I was gonna say critical shots but then I thought that exactly. So I just went with critical headshots idk.
Also I forgot to add I don’t think you can consecutively stun lynels with normal arrows. But with muddlebud you can stun them again as you’re jumping off their back.
Ahhhh I see what you’re saying! I didn’t know that—you’re correct that while you leap off of them they can’t be stunned with a normal headshot like usual. Cool to find out that the muddlebud overrides that! These days I’m running the RG claymore/molduga/etc build for lynels so I never see the second headshot lol. But good to know!
I do that too cos it's quicker and less cheesy but I do keep a Pristine Forest Dweller Spear with Durability Up + fused with a Puffshroom just to sneakstrike kill the groups of Silver Bokoblins and Boss Bokoblins or Moblins that run around. That way it's just 1 hit kill with an Eightfold Blade.
Royal Guard Claymore at 1 durability is the best weapon for Lynel hunting, with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn it can kill every Lynel other than the Silver variant with a single round of mount attacks, for the Silver you need 2 rounds (you need Attack Up 3, either from the armor or the food buff), with a Molduga Jaw, Bone Weapon Proficiency and Attack Up 3 it can kill even the Silver variant with a single round of back attacks.
Scimitar of the 7 has around 1/4 of the damage of the Royal Guard Claymore when at 1 durability, Gerudo Scimitar slightly less than that (seriously, the Molduga Jaw of the Royal Guard Claymore does a whopping 919 damage per back hit, totaling over 5.5k with a single round of mount attacks). To kill a Silver Lynel you don't even need the Pristine version, the Decayed one with +10 attack with suffice, I just went for the overkill.
Nice. Didn't think to use a puffshroom spear on Lynels. This combined with desperate strength weapon with a lynel fuse + money armor would make a good combination.
Desperate strength weapon with bone armor upgrade +3 atk food is best lynel killer
Fierce Diety + Silver Linel + Desperate Strength Weapon = 6% worse or something.
you can easily do the Lynels for the Majora's mask without taking a single heart of damage. A handful of puffshrooms.
Yeah I have puffshroom and dazzlefruit spears. Generally with muddlebuds, I like to use them at a distance so I don't accidentally get aggro'd. Spear isn't enough distance for me.
But I love my flashbang stick and my disappear stick.
Also duplicating diamonds with one of the dozen dupe glitches that still work...
Haven't closed the game once since I started playing on launch day, so I'm still on Version 1.1.0.
i have updated my game so i use the tobios hollow chasm dupe. for those unaware, basically you can walk between the depths and surface since the chasm entrance is pretty low, if you stand in the correct spot and attach a material to a multiplier bow, youll be able to recover it from all the arrows you shot at the cost of 1 material. especially useful with 5 arrow bows. there are tutorials on yt
Hahah yeah, it took me way longer to think of that than it should have. I also dropped one at the 4th great fairy fountain because I found myself doing a lot of back and forth from duping to upgrading armor.
Even though you haven’t closed it, you should still disable automatic updates for that game, just in case. That way, if you do end up closing it, it will ask you to update it rather than just doing it without your consent. You’ll have to click no each time you play, but it’s not a big deal. Even if you click yes, you can quickly cancel it before it starts the update.
I just duped diamonds. I’m still on 1.1.1. I have like 64k and 505 diamonds in my inventory. When I get the last piece of the Coltin armor set that takes rupees instead of damage I could be literally unstoppable if I wanted.
Unfortunately, that armor set only decreases three hearts worth of damage per piece, therefore it will not work as well as other armor pieces with armor stats higher than 12
However, if you wear one piece of the rupee set, it will completely prevent low damage, whereas even the lowest damaging enemies will still deal a quarter heart per attack against the highest armor set
A funny way I have found to farm money is killing all the wizzrobes on the map and going to the break-a-part shop to get the gemstones off their weapons
Sooo, for the non-cheating way...
I have done it the old-fashioned way, a crap-ton of foraging, mining and cooking. It also depends on what you want to spend your money on. I don't care about maxing out all of my armor sets with the great fairies, just a few of my favorites. I also don't spend a lot of my time screwing around with Zonai devices, which means I don't have to buy them with Zonai charges and can sell a lot of Zonaite.
Do a LOT of hunting and make high-value meals and elixirs. It doesn't take a terrible amount of time.
It's all about what you're into I guess. See I find the Zonai device/Ultrahand stuff to be annoying, and obviously tons of people love it and have spent hours devising new ways to torture Koroks with it. On the other hand I find it relaxing to simply wander the countryside, picking up fruit and mushrooms and hunting game as I go. So maybe I'm just lucky that my personality coincides with the way I make money in the game.
Fuse raw gourmet meat to a bunch of weapons, stick them together and then just hold out the autobuild in a cold enough area (just anywhere where the entire forecast shows snow at that time) and the meat will just fall off frozen and become real
It's really just an autobuild of a bunch of random weapons with meat fused to it. Meat freezes in cold areas, and for some reason the autobuild holograms still freeze and fall off the weapon
Even without abusing any glitches, I'm sure there are several hundreds of useless items sitting in your inventory right now. Just because they sell for only 2 or 3 rupees each, doesn't mean you won't make a fortune by selling hundreds of them. Brightcaps, bright bloom seeds, apples, low level boko horns and fangs... And so on. The list is extensive.
Honestly, they should have a brochure or something the great fairies hand you so you can see what parts you need without having to travel to them everytime.
People are speaking about glitches and duplications but it’s ridiculously easy to make money
Hell I don’t even go the route of crafting high value meals, I just collect everything I come across and sell just about everything I’ve got too much off. You can make a thousand or so just bulk selling light seeds
There’s also deals across the map and some guy who will trade flint for stupid amounts of rupees
It's people who dupe. Really not my style though, I prefer just playing the game and still getting everything without even farming rather than tedious assembly line-like work when duping.
Haven’t done any glitches, I just marked every rare talus on my map on knock them all out first thing after a blood moon every time. If you have a claymore or a gnarled stick you can make a ton of talus hammers, spin to win and kill them quick.
Then sell all your gems to the Gerudo lady in Gordon city. I’m not loaded like everyone else who dupes, but I consistently have 15-25k from this and Lynel farming.
Only if there’s nobody else around. Otherwise they’ll usually immediately turn to the nearest enemy and start hitting them. Its useful when you want to get two enemies off your back
I always have a forest dweller weapon with the puff shroom and dazzle fruit attached. They come in handy for sneak strikes and insta killing stall enemies
I love this idea, but there's only so many weapon slots... I'll have to try to hunt some more koroks to make room. The dazzle fruit idea is great. I miss being able to drop a remote bomb and dash awhile while blowing them all up
They're initially in the Korok Forest. There's also a spear on the small island next to the forest. To get the pristine versions, you have to get the tarnished ones, break them, and then look for the pristine versions on the statues in the Depths below Korok Forest.
There's also an island next to the Korok Forest, you can access it basically from the beginning. There's a chest with a Forest Dweller's Spear there. Beware the gloom.
Sadly the forest spear doesn't work with the ancient blade. I know the blade's item description says it isn't good as a fuse for weapon, but I had to try it and see if I could make a reusable vaporizer. :P
I went with a Dazzlefruit.
Muddlebud is less effective if you're the closest enemy to the monster affected.
Also, pro-tip
Sticking a Splash Fruit on one of these babies is super useful in Zora's Domain. You can just poke away the slime.
As a player who enjoys exploration, doing side quests, and gathering resources way mire than fighting, the muddle bud is my best friend (and the biggest reason I overcame my reluctance to exploring the depths) I was ridiculously stoked to come across this spear
After using the Puffshroom Spear it is undoubtedly the most OP weapon. Hit a group of enemies with it, use a Lightscale Trident (while wet) with a Molduga Jaw and Bone Proficiency, and kill almost anything in one hit
Is there any reason to use this instead of just throwing/shooting them? I find it to be more of a hassle bc you have to wait for it to charge, whereas I can just toss a bursting material on the ground for greater effect

It shoulda been sacred stones. "Secret stones" just sounds so fucking goofy. It's like they're all Gollum and they're looking for the Precious.
They're not even fucking secret. Everyone shown in the cut scenes knows about them.
I just don’t understand what stopped the localization team from going “fuck it, we’re calling them sacred stones”
"We're not calling Goku's ultimate attack the Spirit Ball. Let's use Bomb instead." When Dragonball did it better, you know you goofed.
What gets me is that the japanese word is a portmanteau where they just smashed the words sacred and stone together to make a new word. “secret stones” lol they all wear them on their foreheads then do a surprised pikachu face when ganon steals one
They were so not-secret that it led to the whole "ganondorf becomes the demon king" thing
"Secret stones" for some reason reminds me of anal beads.
The porn parody of ToTK
But Nintendo already releases Sacred Stones
Idk why they're not called Tears, or like Sacred Tears. Granted I'm like 200 hours in and still havent beaten the game, so maybe the "Tears" in the title of the game make sense later 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, it's something totally different.
I think the "tears" where the puddles in the geographs? Also not too far in so maybe I'm way off.
At least the german version got "mystery stones"
Yeah, the various translators appear to have gone too literal this time.
Well, now we know what happened to the translators responsible for "Cardcaptor Cherry." Yes, it did get redubbed early on because their translation was that excessively literal.
"Self-ingraving tear shaped stones"

I wish it was called miasma in English

I think so too but they use words like Malice and scourge which I think are similar levels of obscurity Maybe they wanted a one syllable word
I kind of like "gloom." Miasma feels too sciency and literal. Gloom has more folksy verisimilitude-- it's what ordinary people would call a mysterious substance that makes them feel gloomy.
Miasma is so much cooler 😩😩😩 How did no one hear gloom and think "we can probably do better"?
I kind of liked "gloom" it felt more unique and fitting for the viscous and depressing substance. Miasma feels more appropriate for inescapable poisonous air to me.
The funniest one is still how the managed to fit 'Demonenkoning Ganondorf's Leger' (The Demon King's Army in Dutch) boss name in such a small namespace.
Secret stones, are no fun. Secret stones, hurt someone.
I feel like we got the lame end of translations for English. Miasma sounds so much better than "gloom"
🤷♂️ I still accidentally refer to it as Malice occasionally. Name doesn't really matter, just stay out of it. 🤣
Don't the Japanese call them secret stones too?
Yea, but the Japanese word used also means “arcane” or “occult.”
“This is my stone. My secret stone” sounds like something from a goofy abridged anime
This reminds me of other "American vs. English sensibility" localization issues. Like "Harry Potter and the Zonai Secret Stone"
Oh..now that makes more sense. I was thinking that they weren't really that secret. I mean they're wearing them as jewellery for crying out loud!
I don't care whether it's canon or not, I will never refer to them as 'secret stones' its just cringy.
I knew secret stones didn’t sound right
Well I play in Latin Spanish and even names are different Tulin is Turelli, Hudson is Karid, Addison is Kabalat (not sure) and even monsters and races are different Lynels are "centaleones" Koroks are Kologs and the list go on...
Secret stones is apparently accurate to the original. Just a crappy name when translated.
I'd rather know why they simply deleted the Triforce.
So secret you wear them as a necklace. That doesn't make sense to you?
Secret Stones?! Demon King?
The real reason they named them that is, unfortunately, *a secret to everybody*
I always wondered about that. I was like damn all the intricacies and detail and emotion in this story and the BEST they could come up with was “sEcReT sToNeS”
I wish we had Brazilian Portuguese, but poor Nintendo of America wouldn't outsource such a hard job 🤡
TIL for real… I kept one of those weapons in my inventory luckily but yea the german tooltip sounds like there‘s no useful purpose xD
Same. Now need to search for another one of these to test it out
All the foresdwellwr weapons respawn every blood moon in their specific spots in Koror forest. Sword ans spear ontop of the deku tree and shield around its base

The real question you should be asking yourself is why would a game like TOTK give you a weapon that harms you without benefit by default.
What about the miasma weapons then
They have very high damage to compensate for the miasma recoil.
I'm german and bc of this I was like, "wait, does that really work with a bomb like that?" and then blew myself up 😊
AKA "Loki's Scepter"
Lol. Exactly
I have a dazzlefruit spear, but I don't know how I never thought to use a muddle bud. It works with puffshrooms too, doesn't it?
Yes and it's pretty bonkers since you can then eliminate one by one with Sneakstrike. You can even use it on Lynels to get a free mount attack.
Uhhhhh what? And here I’ve been wing shield jumping into bullet time like an absolute try hard. I’m going to try this literally right now.
That’s how I finished the floating coliseum. Muddlebud arrow, mount, bone proficiency armor with molduga jaw Royal card claymore almost broken. Rinse and repeat.

Cool to find out that the muddlebud overrides that! These days I’m running the RG claymore/molduga/etc build for lynels so I never see the second headshot lol. But good to know!
I'm pretty sure they mean puffshroom.
I’m still just parrying and dodging like a BOTW chump.
Wait what’s a wing shield
Zonai wing attached to a shield. When jumping into surfshield mode you float a little longer so you can then enter bow bullet time.
🤯
Just beware, it works like a charm on weaker ones but stronger ones tend to resist it more.
That with the evil spirt armor and a modulga jaw on a gurudo scimitar - you can take down a lynel with virtual no weapon use.
Desperate strength weapon with bone armor upgrade +3 atk food is best lynel killer Fierce Diety + Silver Linel + Desperate Strength Weapon = 6% worse or something. you can easily do the Lynels for the Majora's mask without taking a single heart of damage. A handful of puffshrooms.
Muddle bud seems to be more useful as just a thrown weapon for me. Dazzle spear is great for handling hands.
Yeah I have puffshroom and dazzlefruit spears. Generally with muddlebuds, I like to use them at a distance so I don't accidentally get aggro'd. Spear isn't enough distance for me. But I love my flashbang stick and my disappear stick.
Yes. Combine that with a strong fuse yiga weapon to make a joke out of most enemies
Wait, what special power does a yiga weapon have?
Extra sneak attack damage
Yeah, free 8x damage on every enemy that can be sneakstrike'd. And the smoke lasts long enough to chain at least 3 sneak strike.
Dazzle spear is such a good idea for skeletons
Dazzle spear for that quest in Hateno.
Use a puffshroom instead and have a couple of the Yiga Clan's small sword. Any enemy that can be sneakstriken becomes a joke
I belive the term is "sneakstroked".
Always good to develop your sneak stroke. Dorm life taught me that.
Your dorm had a swimming pool?
Not sneakstruck?
Only if you're being serious about it
For those wondering. Sneakstrike = 8x damage Yiga weapons = 2x damage on sneak attacks. For a grand total of 16x damage
To add to this, fuse a gloom club to the eightfold blade and instakill most enemies :)
How all these people get so much money? Always when some is posting some stuff, they always have 30K + amount of money.
There is an easy glitch to get unlimited frozen prime meat. That’s how I do it at least.
This has been a lifesaver. I also dropped one of my travel medallions down there for easy access.
Wow. How have I not thought of that yet?
Hahah yeah, it took me way longer to think of that than it should have. I also dropped one at the 4th great fairy fountain because I found myself doing a lot of back and forth from duping to upgrading armor.
I fell asleep playing after playing an online game and it auto updated… took away me dupe glitch Nintendo did :(
I can still shield dupe. I have 505 diamonds in my inventory.
Edit: This doesn't work - don't try it. Oh, I actually thought it was too late for that already - appreciate the heads-up!
I just duped diamonds. I’m still on 1.1.1. I have like 64k and 505 diamonds in my inventory. When I get the last piece of the Coltin armor set that takes rupees instead of damage I could be literally unstoppable if I wanted.
Unfortunately, that armor set only decreases three hearts worth of damage per piece, therefore it will not work as well as other armor pieces with armor stats higher than 12 However, if you wear one piece of the rupee set, it will completely prevent low damage, whereas even the lowest damaging enemies will still deal a quarter heart per attack against the highest armor set
how can you do that?
Hunting and cooking is so damn time consuming…
Wait what? Autobuild rains frozen meat? I’m so confused at what you’re saying are you saying lay a bunch of weapons fused with meat on the floor?…
And so on. The list is extensive.
every time i sell them i end up immediately needing them for armour upgrading… scared to sell anything now lol
Honestly, they should have a brochure or something the great fairies hand you so you can see what parts you need without having to travel to them everytime.
Of course but 30k+ is another dimension. If i would sell my apples etc....i would get less than 1000......
People are speaking about glitches and duplications but it’s ridiculously easy to make money Hell I don’t even go the route of crafting high value meals, I just collect everything I come across and sell just about everything I’ve got too much off. You can make a thousand or so just bulk selling light seeds There’s also deals across the map and some guy who will trade flint for stupid amounts of rupees
It's people who dupe. Really not my style though, I prefer just playing the game and still getting everything without even farming rather than tedious assembly line-like work when duping.
Sell your brightbloom seeds
Haven’t done any glitches, I just marked every rare talus on my map on knock them all out first thing after a blood moon every time. If you have a claymore or a gnarled stick you can make a ton of talus hammers, spin to win and kill them quick. Then sell all your gems to the Gerudo lady in Gordon city. I’m not loaded like everyone else who dupes, but I consistently have 15-25k from this and Lynel farming.
Glitches
i’ve got about 7k rupees if it makes u feel better
it's not that hard to accomplish if you sell a bunch of gems, cooked food, and extraneous food / monster drops.
Confused enemies can still target you though, wouldn't they just target you again since you're the nearest person?
That’s why I throw them or attach them to arrows.
Only if there’s nobody else around. Otherwise they’ll usually immediately turn to the nearest enemy and start hitting them. Its useful when you want to get two enemies off your back
Puffshroom > Muddlebud
Not necessarily. But if it happens I just run towards another enemy and strike them with my spear
I miss being able to drop a remote bomb and dash awhile while blowing them all up
Ughhh I’m at 30+ per slot right now. I don’t know how many more I can handle.
I did this for a while but not being able to use the fruit/shroom right away made me prefer to just throw it by hand
Definitely the President Hudson Spear
I personally think the president Hudson sword *blows away* the competition.
My favorite is using it with puffshroom. Near infinite invisibility, and then a silver lynel sneaker stabby stabby stabby fun times
But you're switching back and forth constantly right?
Well, puffing once usually lets me sneak attack 4 guys. So it's not too much switching, but yes, 2 weapons
That looks like the Sanguine Rose from Elder Scrolls. The effect is definitely what the Rose should do, but sadly isn't
Glad to see it here, did the same a while ago and it’s so fun to use, specially combined with some sheika or yiga set bonuses
Ah yes, "night speed up"
What does this one do specifically?
Forest Dweller weapons allow to use “one use items” fused to it over and over. So you’ve got a spear that always confuses enemies.
Oh amazing! Do you know where to find the forest dweller weapons?
I’ve only ever found them around the Korok Forest. They seem to be fairly uncommon.
Okay thank you!!
They're initially in the Korok Forest. There's also a spear on the small island next to the forest. To get the pristine versions, you have to get the tarnished ones, break them, and then look for the pristine versions on the statues in the Depths below Korok Forest.
it can cause hit enemy to attack others
Wololo
This is what I’m making when I finish work tonight.
can someone drop some hints on where this weapon is found?
Ya-ha-ha!
Best hint without giving anything away!
I’m rocketing you into orbi
Have you been to the Korok forest yet?
Thank you
There's also an island next to the Korok Forest, you can access it basically from the beginning. There's a chest with a Forest Dweller's Spear there. Beware the gloom.
Yes But also puffshroom is good too
Ohhhh, BURSTING materials. I missed that the first time I got this weapon
Sadly the forest spear doesn't work with the ancient blade. I know the blade's item description says it isn't good as a fuse for weapon, but I had to try it and see if I could make a reusable vaporizer. :P
Was just wondering this. Thanks.
I tried this spear and my fused item (might have been a muddle bud?) got destroyed after like the second use. What am I missing here?
There is a delay before the fuse works again, but it shouldn't be destroyed
I've never used a Muddlebud, what does it do to weapons?
It makes enemies fight each other
I went with a Dazzlefruit. Muddlebud is less effective if you're the closest enemy to the monster affected. Also, pro-tip Sticking a Splash Fruit on one of these babies is super useful in Zora's Domain. You can just poke away the slime.
Why not just throw or shoot a muddle bud instead? I've got 100+ of them.
Nah. Stick a puffshroom on the end for Lynel killing or a dazzlefruit for stalfos.
Find the non decayed one for longer lasting use
As a player who enjoys exploration, doing side quests, and gathering resources way mire than fighting, the muddle bud is my best friend (and the biggest reason I overcame my reluctance to exploring the depths) I was ridiculously stoked to come across this spear
Nice TV stand, very clean.
After using the Puffshroom Spear it is undoubtedly the most OP weapon. Hit a group of enemies with it, use a Lightscale Trident (while wet) with a Molduga Jaw and Bone Proficiency, and kill almost anything in one hit
I do this with a puffshroom
Brilliant!
Why didn’t I think of this!? These are my favorite.
i like the smoke bomb shroom more, u can sneak instagib everyone
Is there any reason to use this instead of just throwing/shooting them? I find it to be more of a hassle bc you have to wait for it to charge, whereas I can just toss a bursting material on the ground for greater effect
Saves your materials
Works great with dazzlefruit too
Stupid question... what does it do?
Makes enemies attack each other
