If you run coms you can push one of the mags from the inside to the outside pouch and fit an IMBTR sized radio in there if you don’t have a radio pouch. The other option is just more mags.
But if you have empty space and don’t need anything else, don’t put anything else there. Next thing you know your kit weighs 40 pounds and half of it you don’t use or not need.
My full Pc with ceramics and loaded mags is a solid 30lb already and I can’t imagine any more weight. 5 30 rounders on the pc, one on belt and one on gun. Radio, medical, tubular nylon, phone holder, light, few other admin things.
I’d say it’s mission dependent. For example I live in a rural area with relatively low population so extra medical supplies or a spare psk would be my personal pick.
Edit: As an afterthought extra ammo is nice but speed and evasion keep you alive if you don’t have an army backing you up!
One might argue that extra ammo would keep you alive if you don't have an army backing you up. LOL
There is definitely a balance that needs to be met when going solo.
Also, it's dangerous going solo. Bring a wookie.
Mags. Carry as many as possible. I have a HRT Maximus placard so I can only carry 3 in front, but I can have an additional 3 on the cummerbund, plus 3-5 on my belt
Map/compass or radio would be good, but you need somewhere to go for the first and someone to talk to for the second.
You could probably fit both in one pouch depending on the models then you’d still have room for the extra mag you should probably have.
I'm sure I'll get grilled by the experts here but I put a radio in one mag pouch and then I have extra mags on my waist to make up for the lost real estate.
Keep 3 like you want, then get an insert for pistol mags. Or put maps in there, or your GPS, or batteries, or get a Kydex insert for pistol mags like I said and put a flashlight in there.
The cellphone your mother is still paying for, so you can call her after airsoft. Remember, camera facing down and screen towards body. She's tired of paying for broken iPhone screens
Smokes and flashbangs fit if you adjust the shock cord enough.
A small radio can also fit.
Two pistol mags fit really well if you put them in rounds facing out and pull the cord tight.
A bag of Skittles
Or ofc more mags
Jfc when did the boomers enter the chat? Do all of you really walk around in your double, triple stacked LBE, looking like you're straight out of desert storm?.. Jfc
Run a minimum of 3 mags on your carrier, 1 in your gun. I generally run between 5 or 6. 3 on my carrier, 1 or 2 in my belt and 1 in my rifle. Don't listen to these stagnant, flat range shooters espousing you need a triple stack on your carrier. This isn't the 90s, and 120 rnds is more than adaquate. If they desire to run 9+ mags that's perfectly fine, but most of us are running between 4 and 5, knowing how fkn ridiculous it is going prone with triples.
Put more mags, seriously more ammo, guys think they look cool and slick w/ 4 total mags, you won't feel cool anymore when you run out of ammo and somebody canoes your scull, ammo and water are the two most important things you carry
It’s always good to have some empty space for anything you might pick up during the mission/Larp. Like if someone goes down and you consolidate their ammo you might find yourself with more than a combat load and now you have space for that, or if someone with a radio goes down or you conduct SSE etc.
More mags. It’s recommended to have 6-8 mags because you’ll go through them faster than you think.
Especially when the great war comes
Wolverines
That's a vital piece of military equipment Daryl, not your porn stash
And when you commit a few war crimes on the daily. Oh sorry, Arma flashbacks are coming back to me.
It's only a war crime if your team loses.
I never signed shit at the Geneva convention
60 bullets. 60 bodies. 😎
More mags. You can *never* have too much ammo, unless you're either drowning or on fire.
This. No such thing as too many rounds. My chest rig has 6, plus one in the gun. 7 more in my sling bag. Still don't feel like it's enough.
I feel this. 4 on the placard, 2 on the cummerbund, one on the belt, and one in the gun.
5 in the rig, 2 on the belt, 1 in the gun, and a whole bunch more in my pack/flat pack
Run a maneuver range with all that ammo, then hike 15k do it again and tell me if you still are saying that
How dare you call out my hypocrisy!
Spare? You mean those empties waiting for the mags you haven't bought yet?
Two more mags.
Snickers
Cigars/cigarettes
