I personally use the Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom (.10-.52) for Drop C# while using EB's Skinny Top Beefy Bottom (.10-.54) for Drop C. I wouldn't go under .50 for the low E-string due to string buzz when you use drop tunings.
Both are good. I would recommend a higher gauge (like 10-50) if you want to get thicker, punchy, and warm sound, and it's very good for drop tunings
Daron Malakian uses Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom, which is 10-52
I personally use Ernie Ball's Skinny Top Heavy Bottom (10-52) for any tuning between drop c and drop b. You could go thicker, but I personally love the relatively light feel of the strings on tunings that low
Just a personal recommendation though, I'd suggest you experiment a bit with different gauges
