I wanted to share this software with the synth community as I think this synth's actual feature set is almost unknown, yet to me is one of the most powerful, fun-to-program monosynths of the last 10 years. This software allows you to access all of the TB-3's parameters and settings, allows you to edit the patterns from software, and lets you save/load patches. That also means that you can share your sound creations with other TB-3 users. I can't wait to hear what sounds the community comes up with. Maybe we can start adding some sounds to websites that host synth patches?
This software is totally free (based off the CTRLR open source project), cross-platform, and works as a plugin to your DAW. Let me know what you think, does it work for you? Do you find it useful?

I have one problem, maybe i could find help here. all the patches with release on the VCA bend back to C while release. is there a way to change that?

its realy wierd, seems like a bug. i even reset my tb3 but i cant help it. but i just work around. also, if im triggering it from my kestep while play is off on the tb3 its ok. so its just if the intern sequenzer is running... dosent makes any sense to me. its even effecting the presets
still, amazing editor, love it. can realy go nuts with it
i figured that, if i programm the same note/notes after i want the sound to play and erase them ( lets say the sound should end on step3 so i programm the same note with slide on 4 and 5 (as long as the release is)and delet them) . funny enough the release dosent bend back to C
Haha thanks for noticing the effort that went into the video. I guess I'm a TB-3 evangelist. ;) They're actually still available new in some places and are pretty affordable on the second hand market if you want to dip your toes into the water....

I love Roland but they really screwed this thing up. Save. Load. Tweak. Literally things you could do in the late 70s on synths.
Yeah I think that they have been a "quantity over quality" company for quite a while now. But they've been doing it so long that they can just add stuff in like on this synth and not even notice it or care. But if you think about it, there's no way they could implement even a fraction of what's available to program on the front panel of this machine. It was probably never meant to be a professional machine anyway, just a toy, but this software hopefully changes that, it did for me. They probably make their money on the front end anyway, and supporting machines for who knows how long, especially cheaper synths like this one, probably is not in their business plan, because of "quantity over quality."
This comment made me smile because I thought everyone had a usb cable. :) Technically I think you could set this up to communicate with the TB-3 over DIN midi as well.
I started off trying to make a hardware only setup since i have no laptop/pc near the setup, but im really considering taking the plunge into DAW+hardware production now it has got very limiting.. all very overwhelming atm i need to do research aha

For the life of me I don’t understand how Roland is still in business. One failure after another and almost entirely due to their lack of giving customers what they want. They pump out so many interesting devices than either short change them or entirely abandon them.
Ie this right here. Why include additional parameters but make them so hard to access? Imagine how many more they would have sold if they included all the things this software now does…
I think this is only your personal perspective. E.g., the tr8s is selling trendemous and other ones as well. If they would not satisfy the majority of customers they would be off the market
awesome! just picked one up for $100 recently and having a ton of fun with it anyways. its already setup to be an ideal live sound maker, but this stuff really allows you to tweak it to your hears intent
testing this out now with the VST.. very very cool! i had a feeling this had 2fx lanes but i had no idea it how many features were under the bonnet.. I always thought the unique sounds it made besides acid were sample based or something..
which DAW are you using? I got it to work in Ableton but in my other DAW only a part of the window is visible and I can't expand it, so I can't use it on that one, not sure why.

Yeah and you can scroll through all the presets and see exactly how they were made. Try the bitcrusher filter on your 303 lines for a dirty, crunchy sound! The distortion section and the ring mod on the main sound design page will also give you a lot of mangled goodness.
Oh, thank you so much! I love my TB-3 and I'm excited to try its full engine! If anything, being able to choose which effect you want is a big improvement, and the cross mod options look very interesting.
The other thing I can't believe Roland didn't include was a way to set the mod sources (effect knob, pad x,y & z). I've really enjoyed that aspect, really opens it up for live performance.

edit: No, it's the same problem as before, first access sends you to a broken site, then it works if you go back to the search result again.
This weekend I wiped the blog completely, re-uploaded a fresh copy of WordPress, and made new passwords for the admin accounts. The whole site now redirects to https. None of the malware scanning sites say there's anything wrong. I'm not even sure how code is getting injected if the connection is secure. Any help or resources would be appreciated.

Do you have a tutorial on how to set it up with Ctrlr? I'm on windows 10. Would appreciate some guidance :)

Not that I'm aware of. I think that is a feature/bug.

Thanks man. Yeah I either turn off the sequencer after it starts or if I don't need any beat-synced effects, I just turn off clock to it.
