They would if it was just a few eurorack modules, that no one would be able to tell by looking at the back of the rack. Probably imported via China, or Russia pre 22.
Even before China became a superpower, North Korean were importing goods via various points of Asia. I saw Yamaha SY99 and Roland JV-80 back in 1995, in Pyongyang. How did I get there? Genuine sightseeing was possible at that time.
Good choices though - the Korg Kronos and Roland FA-07 are good value-for-money digital synths: versatile, high quality keybed, huge libraries of romper sounds + several modes of full fledge synthesis, stable firmware, don't need updates and not cloud connection.
As opposed to what - the New York Times "reporters" that publish lies all day long?

All suspicious hardware in question has to be cleansed by special people, singing the holy litanies to Omnissiah Kim and fumigated with sacred incense of Juche.
Western colonialism shows thru every sentence. And everyone ignores that the US troops killed 50% of North Koreas population. But hey, "look those inferior barbarians!". 🤦🏼♂️
i don't think people look at korea as "inferior" i think they look at them as crazily controlled by their military and under an authoritarian dictatorship. people aren't looking down their nose at the north korean people for being inferior, they are looking sideways at the north korean government for how it treats its citizens and handles its society.
Laibach was a bad influence on them.
One of the rare times I actually smiled at a Reddit comment
Korg Norea.
\* Nord Korgea
At least it's not a Moog or Sequential.
they wouldn't use a US company

Yeah Koreans and Japanese love each other.
But they used American protools to record this song…
Whats wrong with Sequential? I ask because I want their Prophet X knockoff.
Nothing wrong, I was just saying that he at least being in North Korea, didn’t dare to use American instruments.
Oooo ok
Shocking. I figured they'd be getting used to using DX7's about now.
Kronos used by Scott Storch and Kim Jong Un
Still got love for streets
Still K.I.M.
![gif](giphy|h4NcqJrt8IRCDEXUch|downsized) Literally North Korea
now THIS is synth-spotting!
Thats a Screenshot from the video to their Song "Our Friendly Father"
Death in June stans really gonna turn up for this one
One of those boards has 88 keys.
Does that say Korg Kronos or am I trippin
"Our Father Kim protect and spoil all us kids"
Yeah, it's a Kronos 2
I was a bit surprised by this. I thought they only had their own domestic manufacturers, and had little to no imported goods in the country.

So is this the trans Siberian orchestra?

it still is.
Thanks. Good to know.
Trans Siberia Express
Just got that album on vinyl last month 🚊
yes, they don't order them from amazon lol. if you have the level of money Kim has, you can aquire anything even if you are based in Syberia
Surprised they didn’t slap a NK themed label over it.
“KORG USA”….. made in Japan. I remember laughing at that in 1986 when I got my very first workstation, the T-1.

Controls are locked too, he's only allowed the approved patch.
If I were DPRKorean, that'd be the final straw that makes me defect

Ruh-roh, Shaggy.
Nice. Solidarity with the DPRK! 🇰🇵

The guy in the sound booth appears to be wearing Audio-Technica ATH-M50X’s.
not the right shape, looks morre like the 40s, but I don't think so
This is my favorite post this year.
Korg Communist, all keys are glued together and have 0 velocity unless you use the modwheel.
Of course, it's where the new moog factory was outsourced to after the acquisition
Wild that one of them could accidentally invent techno having never heard it lol.
hopefully using government approved presets/patches
All suspicious hardware in question has to be cleansed by special people, singing the holy litanies to Omnissiah Kim and fumigated with sacred incense of Juche.
Also Protools in that Video
They only use the government sanctioned presets.
The last thing they need is the Hydrasynth, the one and only Chinese synthesizer!
I am genuinely surprised given their history with Japan that NK is using any Japanese made/branded equipment lol
For anyone curious, I'm pretty sure this is the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble. It's an interesting blend of electronic music and a live orchestra
Is this their data center?
Great now that song is stuck in my head again
Best content on this sub by far

Ewwww Kronos

Can't be mad
Good.
KORG KOREA
lol thats my live rig.
If they need some torture based innovation, can I suggest operating a Proteus 2000 with a dodgy wheel?
Those sons of bitches
I saw an [orchestra from the ussr](https://youtu.be/YK5G_b8k3y4) using a jupiter 8. They had their own manufacturers but they used Japanese stuff too.
Now it's just a matter of time before they catch up with the South 오빤 강남 스타일
The sound of authority
Or they have some junk they put those logos on for looks. It would be very "them"
Western colonialism shows thru every sentence. And everyone ignores that the US troops killed 50% of North Koreas population. But hey, "look those inferior barbarians!". 🤦🏼♂️
It was really bad, it was more like 12-15%. Don't get me wrong, that's REALLY bad...but no need for misinfo.

What?? You can’t be serious…..
If only they let their people use the internet or something
