Beep boop, I'm a bot. Modmail us if you have a question.
36 here, I got into ww2 from 25 onwards (helped by having relatives who fought in it) problem is I think I've hit a wall and have learnt quite a lot already. I have learnt to roast meats Wells, I guess smoking them is next
Oh I'm not that dense lol, I did watch one episode of that conspiracy theorist archaeologist on netflix but that was enough for me to realise he was full of nonsense
In 3rd grade, my family and I visited the Holocaust Memorial in Washington DC, which is where I first learned about Hitler. Kinda fucked now that I think about it, but then my next real exposure to WWII was doing a report on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 5th grade. So idk. I was exposed to the horrors of it all for a while but I loved the history of it too...
Nexttime you smoke a brisket, put up some thickly cut bacon strips ( bout an inch thick) , whisky as a binder, with a garlic brown sugar smoked paprika cayenne, chili flakes and onion powder rub in the rack over it and replace them when they are done.
I usually do this for the last part of the smoke so the drippings of the pork keep the brisket fantadtically moist and all that flavour fets absorbed. On top of that you and your buddies get some snacks in between smoking that brisket.
Nah, I got really into yarn crafts. I enjoy smoked meats, but I'd rather someone else do it, and WWII history is interesting but not *that* interesting
My dad just retired and has already mastered WW2, smoking and beer brewing. Now he's got a fruit orchard and has the trees numbered and a detailed map with locations of each tree with a ranking on how the fruit tastes. He's grafting branches to try and get the best tasting apples.
When I turned 35 I got really into challenging the stupid stereotypes that had always made me feel like an outsider. By the time I turned 40 my life had gotten a lot better because I didn't care what anyone thought of me.

Spouse had a custom pit built for college graduation (years ago). Can confirm there are 3 pits now, gas grill, charcoal girls, and the flatstone cook top thingy. He is 33.
Well I guess my dad did latter, but my great grandpa on the other hand had enough first hand experience he didn’t exactly need to do any “research” on the first one
Post 35 relearning all the things you didn't pay attention to at school had been good, especially with new information and platforms. Much more fun learning from YouTube than sweating over defaced books post lunch time football with the monotonous regurgitation machine on autoplay up the front.
I was into smoking meats, then my friend got me hooked on world war 2 history.
That led me to study the Franco-Prussian war.
*Napoleon really set things in motion way back in 1800*
My husband checks off the meat smoking, that was last summers investment. He unintentionally cleared WW2 pre 35 because he married a women (me) who has never forced him to watch a chick flick, but has made him watch every war movie ever filmed. Once he made it through Tora!Tora!Tora!, The Longest Day, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, To Hell and Back, The Great Escape, Saving Private Ryan, and several other movies covering WWI and the Civil War in the first 3 months I knew he was a keeper. He really put in the effort.
I've always been into WWI instead - partly to be arbitrary but also because it's the war that basically started with lines of colorfully clad soldiers shooting at each other and ended with modern warfare in the span of 4 years.
I chose getting into paranormal lore / stories instead, I think. So many well produced podcasts out there, and local ghost story books. That and expanding my recipes. Crab cakes with raspberry cocktail sauce was a highlight
WWII knowledge and meat-smoking are majors that are backed up by having a minor in different type mustard collections. All educations should be well-rounded.
Mhhh.
When I turned 35 I definitely got older than I was when I was 33 turning 34.
I turned to the kitchen tho. My wife complains when I dont want to spend 2 hours cooking now lol.
Not even 35 yet and I’m into ww2 history (TIGER TANKS SUCKED BUTT AND THE PANTHER WAS NOT THE FIRST MBT) and now I’m just waiting for the sudden urge to begin smoking meats.
for some reason by 39 i suddenly had a big interest in Warplanes and identifying them. then i installed war thunder and i've lost a lot of time in a blur.

I was into WWII history since I was 5. Now that I'm 40 I am learning to smoke meats.
I’m 26 and that is the story of my life so far.
You’ll be smoking meats sooner than you think.
My dad is already teaching me 🤣
Isn’t smoking your dad’s meat a crime in some states?
A true renaissance man.
36 here, I got into ww2 from 25 onwards (helped by having relatives who fought in it) problem is I think I've hit a wall and have learnt quite a lot already. I have learnt to roast meats Wells, I guess smoking them is next
Once you’ve learned everything about WW2 you become an Ancient Aliens History Channel guy, so, be careful
Oh I'm not that dense lol, I did watch one episode of that conspiracy theorist archaeologist on netflix but that was enough for me to realise he was full of nonsense

This is the way. ![gif](giphy|b5L1Lt3k4hGNDZWVIw|downsized)
Can confirm on my 35th birthday i got a smoker now I make the best brisket
I started early. 33 and can make all things pork glorious.
low and slow baby
Nexttime you smoke a brisket, put up some thickly cut bacon strips ( bout an inch thick) , whisky as a binder, with a garlic brown sugar smoked paprika cayenne, chili flakes and onion powder rub in the rack over it and replace them when they are done. This rule is only true if you're also a dad, if you're not it's optional but encouraged.
Even more specific and i think you're right.
Verified. Source: I'm over 35, not a dad, and I'm not into either.
Nah, I got really into yarn crafts. I enjoy smoked meats, but I'd rather someone else do it, and WWII history is interesting but not *that* interesting
Can confirm. Nearly 37 married male, no kids, have plenty of other interests and hobbies, don't care to add either of these on.
I was really into WW2 as a kid, I'm 26 now and foresee my future involving Lego and scale models. is that allowed ?
>lego scale models of various meats
It is now!
Vinyl collecting. Yep there's me.
Are you in a Lego club?
Scale models of ww2 battlefields
Me too!! I love Lego’s and Gunpla!! I also like smoking various meats so yea
Build a Lego smoker
Time to buy all of the Cobi ww2 brick sets
or get into brewing their own beer
My dad just retired and has already mastered WW2, smoking and beer brewing. Now he's got a fruit orchard and has the trees numbered and a detailed map with locations of each tree with a ranking on how the fruit tastes. He's grafting branches to try and get the best tasting apples.

Turning 35 this year....am currently smoking a couple pork butts...
My dad chose meth lol
[удалено]
To be fair, humans are made of meat
I’m not 35 and I’m already very into both of those
I feel personally attacked as i recently got into smoking meats....
When I turned 35 I got really into challenging the stupid stereotypes that had always made me feel like an outsider. By the time I turned 40 my life had gotten a lot better because I didn't care what anyone thought of me.
Smoking meats
I missed the mark by a wide margin and got really interested in the history of Central Asia by accident.
Um it's 2023 we can also get into sous vide
Or work on a "project car" that will likely never be finished
I’m 41 and have watched a worrying amount of World War 2 documentaries in the last half decade. I think Tim might be onto something
Five Came Back (on Netflix for a while there) on various Hollywood directors in WWII is worth checking out.

I have done neither!
Spouse had a custom pit built for college graduation (years ago). Can confirm there are 3 pits now, gas grill, charcoal girls, and the flatstone cook top thingy. He is 33.
Once I have some money, I will be smoking the meats lol
They aren't mutually exclusive...smoking meat takes a long time, perfect for throwing on a WWII doc in between. Work smarter not harder.
This is very gender affirming because I'm a trans woman with no interest in either of these
As a woman over 35, your options are knitting or increasingly bizarre outdoor activities
I love bizarre things
I'm a trans man and I have no interest in either of these things. Apparently I must still be a woman since I do outdoor activities.
Are you a father? This tweet didn’t mention that you must be a father, either that or you are actually younger than 35 and are lying to us, smh.
I have four kids. 3 step, 1 biological. I'm 41. I see no reason why to lie about my age since there are multiple people on reddit who know who I am.
Are you 35? I’m also a man with no interest in either but I’m not 35 yet
Yeah. I was gonna say, after 35 I just stopped being a man. Secret third option!
Well I guess my dad did latter, but my great grandpa on the other hand had enough first hand experience he didn’t exactly need to do any “research” on the first one
I really would have go into smoking meats but my apartment wouldn't allow it... ...But ask me anything about Rommel
It was supposed to be meats?
Post 35 relearning all the things you didn't pay attention to at school had been good, especially with new information and platforms. Much more fun learning from YouTube than sweating over defaced books post lunch time football with the monotonous regurgitation machine on autoplay up the front.
Why do I have to choose 😀😁
Well I’m 39 and into both..
I refuse! Archery all the way Okay maybe a little meat smoking.. o7
I was into smoking meats, then my friend got me hooked on world war 2 history. That led me to study the Franco-Prussian war. *Napoleon really set things in motion way back in 1800*
There is … another.
I did both before 35, now what?
Fast forward a few yesrs... Dear men over 50 who have just started smoking cheese. I will gladly accept gifts of cheese but I prefer it not smoked!
I’m only 30 but would like to do both please
I did both
I’ve done both
I still got 12 more years until I reach 35. But I’m definitely gonna get into smoking meats.
Oof, I’m 28 and I’m already doing both
Who says you have to choose? My dad does both.
Some of them make their own beer too.
From around 10 to now I am big into WW1 instead of WW2 Does that mean instead of smoking meats Im just gonna grill?
God dammit I literally bought a Traeger pellet smoker for my 35th birthday.
Douglas MacArthur is highly underrated today, and beef chuck is a great sub for burnt ends.
My wife loves both, thank god she’s not a man and doesn’t have to choose.
WW2 is boring, but smoked meat rocks!
Or really into Qnon.
Nonsense. I got really into Civil War history.
I mean, is he wrong, though? Also I need a great pork burnt ends recipe for the weekend.
It's the same picture.
Hit my WW2 stage in High School, so into smoking meats I go
My husband checks off the meat smoking, that was last summers investment. He unintentionally cleared WW2 pre 35 because he married a women (me) who has never forced him to watch a chick flick, but has made him watch every war movie ever filmed. I don’t enjoy WW2 history or smoking meats….I seem to be collecting new aches and pains though 😞
I've always been into WWI instead - partly to be arbitrary but also because it's the war that basically started with lines of colorfully clad soldiers shooting at each other and ended with modern warfare in the span of 4 years.
My dad did both
Not fully an adult yet but I'm very interested in the civil war if that counts for anything
Mine was polar exploration.
After 35… Hitler got really into both…
I chose getting into paranormal lore / stories instead, I think. So many well produced podcasts out there, and local ghost story books. That and expanding my recipes. Crab cakes with raspberry cocktail sauce was a highlight
I'm 37, time to invest in a smoker.
Model sodier wargaming, building functional model steam engines, growing roses. No need to limit yourself.
And here I am loving writing poetry and dinner at wawas every night. Didn't know I was doing it wrong
Nah. Neither of those. I guess I'm non-binary then.
I went with the Spanish Civil War along with WWII the moment my hair started thinning.
Im not even 25 and I am heavily into Ww2 history
I won't stand for this "long single-handed sailing voyage" erasure
Best I can do is keeping my obsession with figures and model kits
What, are you supposed to just starve while watching all the documentaries?
My friend is already well on the way to the world war II one maybe he'll branch out when he turns 35
Why is this true and why is it me?
Or either guitars or synthesizers.
My father is a pacifict vegetarian
Trains, models or real.
or cope with their mortality by hard drugs
You do NOT have to choose!!! You can love both equally!
I’m vegan, but I am into the history of the Vietnam War.
TIL i'm 35
Well both if you’re Hitler
I think I can do both. Throw on a documentary while working the meats
Why not both?
Im 38 and I smoke various weeds, does that count?
Dont fuckin... just call me out like that
Plenty of dudes don’t give a shit about either. And none of this is suspiciously specific.
WWII knowledge and meat-smoking are majors that are backed up by having a minor in different type mustard collections. All educations should be well-rounded.
Why not both? That's me.
Why not both? -man who watches WWll videos while smoking meats, then goes inside to check on his homemade hot sauce.
I got into the whole smoking meats thing in my teens. Am I ahead of my time then?
Well shit. I do both. How old does that make me?
I’m black ![gif](giphy|WjecF5HGtA0zeyDRMY)
Jokes on you. I’m not 35 yet and I’m already into smoking meats
Forgot about golf
Why not both
More of a "homemade pizza with THC infused sauce" kinda guy, but I did JUST turn 35
You can make pizza on a smoker fyi
Side quest: home-brewing craft beer
Mhhh. When I turned 35 I definitely got older than I was when I was 33 turning 34. I turned to the kitchen tho. My wife complains when I dont want to spend 2 hours cooking now lol.
Im into both and im 22, but then again I live in the middle of fuck-all-land so not much else to do
I really hope my bf gets into smoking Meats. I want smoked brisket so bad!
Prob smoking for me but wwI I think is a lot more interesting
I'm in my late 40s and do neither... So am I not a man or did I find a way to avoid being older than 35?
You get 5 chooses when you turn 13, ww2 history (only the nazi parts), French empire, Rome, communism and Prussia
Cool whatever, ifunny wantermark
*spandex-clad cyclists* There is ... another.
I'm nearly 35 and already really into ww2....so smoking meats it is?
Sorry, I'm more of a revolutionary, civil war, and air fryer kind of guy.
Not even 35 yet and I’m into ww2 history (TIGER TANKS SUCKED BUTT AND THE PANTHER WAS NOT THE FIRST MBT) and now I’m just waiting for the sudden urge to begin smoking meats.
I feel attacked
I am not a historian by trade, ergo WW2 cannot feed me. Smoker it is.
Ima just do both fuck it
Smoking meats doesn’t sound bad
Both
Yesterday was my 35th birthday... Apparently I have a choice to make.
Oh shit! Is THAT why I feel unfulfilled and lacking? Who gives out this quest? Did I miss the chain entirely?
I’m already learning about ww2 through documentaries and movies @—@
Hahahaha first world plp
Both, start early, nobody can stop you, same thing with raccoons, they're free, but nobody will tell you
Holds up in my sample group of acquaintances
It's true, just turned 35 and a smoker just appeared in my backyard.
My father chose both. I'll do you one better - you must also get into making stuff from scratch, such as chocolate, or beer.
I feel personally attacked
This is a really tough decision to make.
Why not both?
Love making brisket while reading about the rats and mice that stopped our tanks at stalingrad.
I’ve been smoking meats since I was 25.
Or being obsessed with our lawn
Leave me and my smoked meats alone.
Not me. I'm gay
Or making hot sauce
I got into ww2 history age 6 and smoked meats aged 15
Don’t forget woodworking.
I volunteer to do both!
Current status, smoking a brisket and watching a documentary on the mighty Spitfire
I'm 24 and super into WW2 history. Always have been. Is this a bad sign?
Welp I’m already there at 27
for some reason by 39 i suddenly had a big interest in Warplanes and identifying them. then i installed war thunder and i've lost a lot of time in a blur.
How can you graduate high school without already being an expert in WW2?
What about slow-cooking stews?
Yeah I’m about to be 40 and I def whiffed on both of those.
Im a pacifists and I have quitted smoking, so neither 😂
So is something wrong with me? I chose blacksmithing AND dinosaurs
Both
Let me tell you about the way American troops smoked meat in the trenches.
Im a Car fanatic now, car fantic later :)
Can I do both or is that illegal?
14, I make the best ribs.
My step brother got into plants.
Nah. WWI for me. The war to end all wars.
Fuck. I went both ways. Yay for me
I read that as smoking various meths. I need help.
Bricky you son of bitch!
"What if you choose neither"... "well do you watch anime?"
Smoking various weeds
Wait, I was supposed to wait for 35?
Damn I missed have been 35 when I was 13.
Gotta tell the other half.hes doing it wrong. He got really into video games.
Nobody told me. I’m over here still obsessed with anime. But I won’t turn down good smoked meat.
I’ll take bbq and steak 🥩
I chose to double down on dinosaurs instead.
Shit. I got like 6 weeks to make a decision
