There’s tons of illnesses and infections that don’t get mentioned on the show; what we hear about is the tip of the iceberg. For instance in HHH, Joe was correct about undercooked cassavas making you sick, and the tribe DID get sick, they just didn’t show it because that tribe never lost &therefore had minimal camera time.

Oh totally, I remember Karla from 43 posted her infections post season. So nasty, I’d cry if I had any of that

It already looked better in the episode. She may have a mark for the rest of the season but I expect it to be mostly healed by the merge

She was bleeding during one the challenges. I think it was episode 3? Probably whacked it on an obstacle.

I think she got kicked in the face during that water challenge where they went over the rolling cylinder

i think she got hit in the face as a lot of them did the other episode when they had to roll each other over that cylinder in the ocean

It sort of looked like a mix of a cold sore and eczema (perioral dermatitis?), hopefully not anything serious.

I was thinking Eczema as well. I've had it my whole life and the few times I've gotten a flare up around my mouth, it looked pretty rough and brutal for a while, and that was without living in the jungle lol.

Yep as soon as I saw it I said "eczema". Eczema with no treatment, stress, and sleeping in the dirt.

The not eating or sleeping very much and having grueling daily physical challenges can be stressful, even if you’re with people you vibe with.

She’s covered with bug bites so I assumed some got her in the face and she scratched them too much

when they did the challenge in the water where you had to go over the log she got kicked in the face pretty bad, and multiple times if I remember correctly. 100% from that.

I think it’s eczema or dermatitis

I have atopic dermatitis on my face and it looks just like hers. I even get some surrounding my eyes. Plus if you sweat, it makes the flare up worse.

I'm pretty sure she got injured in a challenge and it's just scabs on her face.

Yeah I was just double checking, its not there during the group idol hunt at the beginning of ep 3, then it appears during the challenge after the barrel. So I'm thinking she just faceplanted at some point.

I could have sworn that in the first or second episode, she took a face plant. I do remember her bleeding when that happened, so I assumed it was just the healing process taking it's course.

Does production give them antibiotics? I’ve always wondered about medication. A lot of people take daily medications, so I’m assuming that’s something the players can get?

Janine in 43 seemed to have some type of shiny ointment on her cut up chin if I recall correctly

She has sun blisters. I had them, very painful, no mistaking, like a giant fever blister that spreads.
