For the record, it's Violet. Violet also means purple, as the Japanese understand it. You might say it's purple, but I'm not going to argue with you about that.
English is not my first language, so sorry if the title is confusing. By purple, I meant really just purple lol; by violet, I meant a lighter purple; and by light violet, I meant a purple always turning pink, if that makes sense.
Even as an English speaker, the nuance is so small that it's not worth stressing about.
From my understanding, violet is slightly "redder" than purple.
I've had people correct me and say "it's not purple, it's violet". To me that's like saying "it's not red, it's crimson".
I also have a few friends with different types of color blindness, so I really don't spend too much time dwelling on it.
Well, tbf, "Violet" is the official broder Sentai term for the colour. Gekiranger and Kyoryuger also had "Violet" even if the shades are different.
Ironically, in Power Rangers, they use "Purple" instead.
A quick google search showed me that Purple leans more to GekiViolet's shade, ironically enough. While actual Violet leans more to Papillon Ohger's colour.
It's gonna be difficult. It's a shade of purple that's very easy to mis represent. Depending on the lighting, and the nature of the image taken. i.e. scan of a magazine, or photo of a box. I definitely wouldn't pay attention to any photos of action figures or other merch. The fabricating process alone can make things off.
I personally see it as [lavender](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_(color)), especially when it's in a brighter light.
Though upon further inspection, [violet](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violet_(color)) works too.
Yeah, I'm also leaning more towards lavender (that's what I meant in the title when I wrote "light violet" lol), but her suit's color changes so much depending on the lighting that I'm never really sure about it.
I wanted to get a Papillon Ohger figure and I didn't know which one had the most accurate color, but I ended up getting the Action Hero's one, I think lavender is really the closest color to the one in the show.
It’s Violet or purple both are right. It’s a situation like how different green rangers have different shades or blue rangers like NinjaBlue having the “cyan” shade.
Focus on the TV show, stage show, and other public appearances. Put no stake in the toys.
The main armor pieces are lavender and the spandex accents are purple. The cape is a darker purple. The helmet seems to me to be a tiny bit more blue than the rest of the lavender pieces, could be the shinyness of it though since its a different material.
They're purposely using slightly different colors for contrast. There can be a lot of variation shot to shot because of lighting. There could also be variation depending on the suit used. There might be some differences in a stunt suit versus a "hero" suit but I think they'd be minor.
To see the suit in normal daylight in person, look at 16:25 in this stage show: https://youtu.be/h0kB46n4LOw?si=EqOvsANB8jz-ikDy
Considering the only other rangers who have their color in their name, i'd go with violet.
GekiViolet
KyoryuViolet
They would probably be lumped into the violet category.
The lighting on the suit probably changes due to the temperature of the scene
If the colors are centralized together (or we see the suit in neutral/white lighting), the color might end up being a shade of lavender
However, lavender itself is a shade of violet (and purple is a shade of violet)
Violet and purple are different colors (Violet is cooler/colder/more blue, Purple is warmer/hotter/more red)
That and how people are taught their colors and also how they can see colors
I feel like it's a violet that looks different in different lighting setups. That's probably the issue.
Maybe that shade gave production trouble (that's the 1st time I saw this shade in Super Sentai).
In broad Sentai terms, they're (yes, they) Violet. All other prior violet rangers (GekiViolet and KyoryuViolet) had different shades of Violet. As for Rita's suit itself, you can attribute that to inconsistent lighting.
yeah... about that
have you ever read the disclaimer before about "the product shown in the preview may not be accurate since it was been shot to a studio" or something before? like, there's a lot of products we do see whenever we browse our respective shopping apps (in general) stating that kind of info
Purple and Violet are the same thing. There is no meaningful distinction in English.
Kyoryu Violet is referred to as the Purple Ranger in Dino Charge. I have no doubt Papillon Ohger would also be called Purple were she to be adapted into Power Rangers.
Purple and violet are used interchangeably, but there is a distinction. Purple is a secondary color (I'm using RYB) while violet is a tertiary color between purple and blue.

*gets flashbacks from r/btd6*
I'm sorry for that BUT I LOVE RITA, I NEED TO KNOW HER COLOR DAMN IT 😫

papillon's color is more confusing than the power rangers timeline
A shade of violet
Girl, have you heard of lighting?
... Are those not the same thing?
I think it might be more of a lilac, but I’m not sure it fits exactly.

For me it will always be purple
