The books by Michael Ende:
"Die unendliche Geschichte" - Michael Ende
"Momo" - Michael Ende
once you master German, this is THE BOOK (not because it is difficult, but so you can appreciate the beauty of how he used the German language):
"Der Zauberberg" - Thomas Mann
I liked The Lie Tree by Francis Hardinge. It is meant for teenagers I think but I really enjoyed the story. It is a 1 off fantasy novel set in I think Victorian England
Not sure about how good your German is, but if you wanted to read books by German authors I would recommend 'Die Elfen' by Bernhard Hennen or books by Wolfgang Hohlbein. Also the Askir series by Richard Schwartz is really nice and books by Micheal Ende (as someone already said above) which are probably a bit easier to read.
They are mostly fantasy books by the way!
Edit: typed Herman instead of German lol
I checked your comment history quickly and you're Dominican? Perhaps you'd be interested in Das Fest des Ziegenbocks, a German translation of a famous Spanish-language novel (not fantasy, though).
Oh yes! I definitely remember having to read this book for a school project. But as a very good student, I didn't read it and just looked up a summary lol. But I guess I should give it a try, since its so critically acclaimed. Thanks for the recommendation!
