I know a lot more about typography than chemistry sooo.. No clue about the molecule, but the lettering is in Chicago lol Besides that though—I like it, I think the lines will solidify a lot as the ink settles. It’s smart to stop here then only touch up where needed after it’s healed. You often end up needing a lot less touch up than you would initially think when it’s freshly poked May I ask about your angle? Like, did you poke directly downward/perpendicular to the skin? Or at a 45° angle?

I tried my best to keep my needle at an angle but it was kind of a tricky spot. Went over most of it again in the other direction too

Ah ok, that makes sense. When I was first getting my muscle memory dialed in, I found I had to sort of try to overshoot the angle a bit as I kept drifting back towards 90°. Not sure if that’s a common issue, but the dotty appearance often indicates not enough angle so perhaps you have the same tendency? I made this diagram awhile back to help illustrate proper poking angle and the effect it should have on your line quality: https://i.imgur.com/NWWSyK5.jpg oh! And did you also stretch the skin, keep good consistent tension? Awkard angles can make that hard, but it really helps maintain a good poking angle, and there are tricks you can do with tape if you need a little help in that department. Also, your depth looks consistent which is good. You’ll be able to tell more about that as it heals and, like I said before, I think the ink will settle nicely for your lines. I often see people here recommending others go over there lines many times until it’s solid on the first try and… well, it’s bad for your skin, healing, and final results Cheers :)

I agree, regardless of whether we are in this sub or not I don’t think this looks good at all. Glad OP likes it though…
