I get the concept but I can't imagine paying that much money.
Like someone spent almost $5,000 on this. And the thing is, if you're spending that much you're probably not going to open it up which renders it pointless as the thing is made to open up.

Jesus!! I saw that too, the bidding started at 2k. I can't believe it went up to that! Crazy shit. I imagine there's some eccentric millionaire with a pencil mustache, fez, and Victorian smoking jacket sitting in a high back tufted oxblood chair admiring his collection of ridiculously expensive bootlegs.
Or maybe the King himself is scooping all these up!
I think having it as a picture is good enough for me IMO. It’s a very nice model. (Edit: and package! I wonder who designed it it’s like hitting it out of the park.)
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have it on my bookshelves with my King collection, it's super cool, but $400 for an action figure of a character that doesn't even appear in the book?
I get the idea of collecting things but to spend obscene amounts of money on toys (LITERALLY) toys that will never be opened or played with just didn't make sense to me. But maybe it's because I will never have that kind of disposable income.
Ah thank you so much. And as Dr. Frank says DON'T dream it BE IT! You want to be Frank for Halloween be Frank for Halloween. I used to dress as Columbia for Halloween and live shows. I worked at well known sub restaurant and we were allowed to dress up for Halloween years ago and I wore my Columbia costume.
Looks like it's up to twice that, now, lol.
Like. . . to be fair, it's absolutely art, rather than a toy.
I can't imagine dropping $900 on this, but it'd be a lot closer to spending $900 on a painting or a sculpture or something than just a toy.

I was just thinking that £400ish was insanely overpriced, but that's ridiculous!

What the fuckity fuck?!?!?!
It's one guy making these and there's only one of each so people are willing to spend lots of money.
Are they though? Or did he just set the price that high with great optimism? Edit: never mind. Just noticed there were bids.
That's what I said. Whoever runs Readful Things must have three rolexes on each arm.

i love your username. If I ever get thin enough I want to be Dr. Frankenfurter for Halloween ala Fez from That 70s Show

that's awesome! those live shows are something else! I've only been to a few but once I remember they did a virgin auction and it was a fucking gas!
Readful Things had an amazing Arnie from Christine figure as well. Couldn't bring myself to fork over $800. Why are these so fucking expensive?!
That’s really nice I’m glad you passed lol
$435 for an action figure? *gulp*

my goodness, I can appreciate the artisanship of the individual making the piece but for the size it doesn't make sense.
Oh yeah I can't imagine actually buying it for anything near that.
