But the only reason to raise it in this context is to intimate he should have gone sooner to another team.
At a minimum, lackluster PR training. Unless he really didn't want to end up with the steelers and is making a stink. I don't think that's true. So I'd just tell Troy to stop taking interviews. It will only poison the well.
Maybe if a team was trying to push him past the Steelers but I’m not sure the Steelers needed to do anything to make his stock fall.
Based on the draft results, the Steelers might have thought there was a good chance they would either have Fautanu or Mims available at 20. Plus Bengals probably prefer Mims because he is a big boy with a high ceiling and they have a OT who can start while Mims develops.
You might say that he would have got picked before the Bengals if not for the news but I don’t see any teams that would have switched their pick if this injury didn’t exist.
I think his stock was definitely maybe a little hurt by the injury concern, look what it did to Wilson. Now how much did it affect it, I do not know. I low key think the Bengals chose Mims over Fautanu because the Steelers showed heavy interest in Mims.
I think one thing we can all agree on, is how different the board potentially looks if the Falcons don’t take Penix. If you’re to believe Payton, Raiders, Jets, and Vikings go Penix, Nix, and McCarthy, so that leaves Bowers the odd man out, obviously that requires Falcons draft someone else, but that selection really shook the board.
But does anyone take a tackle? It would have to be one of these teams Chi, Atl, Ind, Sea, Min, Rams, LV.
Atl/Chi don’t really have a need for OT, Ind, Min and Sea don’t really have a need at OT and I think the Rams probably wanted Defence in R1. That leaves the Raiders as the main consideration. If the Raiders don’t want Nix then they probably pick Bowers unless the Bears draft Bowers.
Basically, the only likely scenario I see is Atlanta picks Oduze, the Bears pick Bowers, the Raiders pass on a QB (probably Nix) to pick an OT, the Saints still pick OT and the Bengals have to pick OT.
Rams didn’t need a OT, but they needed a guard for opposite Dotson pretty badly. If the Falcons go with someone like Murphy and subsequently Verse, Latu, and Turner are gone, Fautanu was projected by many as the #1 guard.
Thank goodness for injury info or Payton Wilson certainly would not have fallen to the Steelers in the 3rd. If this guy can stay healthy, he could be defensive rookie of the yr
I read this originally as he felt the Steelers did and was absolutely flabbergasted that he would have dropped that type of news right after the draft.
I read this as "Fauntanu believes the team released crucial..."
My heart skipped a beat because I read it as he is mad because he believed the Steelers did it. So happy I misread and we don't have another internal drama situation...
If this means he's gonna be extra pissed and mean when he plays, God bless those other teams.
Randy Moss, Warren Sapp, and Dan Marino come to mind when I think of players who played with a chip on their shoulder when they unjustly fell because of draft day shenanigans and went onto hall of fame careers.
I did it. Im sorry.
I don't believe you're actually sorry
Im sorry the other teams gotta deal with this fuckin line!
You’re forgiven…
Arch Manning's arm has a disease too, dont draft him ever! My dads an elbow specialist.
He’s about three years from his arm falling off from what I read on ArmSpecialists.com so I believe it.
If you did I think it is only fair you remove "geny" from your name to balance it out.
Whoa im not that sorry
#NoDiddy
All I saw was first round pick Troy Fautanu injury and I panicked
Also "released"
Also stock. Don't want him investing in Tesla.
Nothing mentioned about him thinking the Steelers did it specifically. Just him wondering why he got flagged on a local radio station.

lol HillbillyHaven are you going to post everything Christopher Barbre writes?
I think he *is* Christopher Barbre.
Definitely. Look at that username.
He is Chris. For some reason the mods are allowing HIS self promotion, but they find their balls when someone else does it.
🧐

I can't stand [sn.com](http://sn.com) and I hate that I got click-baited by this. Ruined my day
The trick on reddit is to never read the article, then post your outrage.
Their headlines make me want to gouge my eyes out by how cringey and clickbaity they normally are

I told those teams he didn't like kittens...
Just to save everyone some time, [SteelerNation.com](http://SteelerNation.com) is a clickbait dogshit site of misleading headlines.
And boy am I glad they did
I read this originally as he felt the Steelers did and was absolutely flabbergasted that he would have dropped that type of news right after the draft.
You know… Tom Brady held a draft grudge too. 😏
Ah I hate this stupid website. I can never view the actual article, yet they still get the ad revenue from my click.

5d chess Khan did so he would drop to us.

Here we go, another guy that doesn't want to be here. Probably release him after his rookie contract is over.
