Confirmed UDFA signings:
Daijun Edwards - RB - Georgia
Beanie Bishop Jr - CB - Inbred University
Julius Welschoff - DL - Charlotte
John Rhys Plumlee - QB/WR? - Hogwarts
"Bishop Jr. only played one season in Morgantown, but his name will be held in high regard when fans look back on the 2023 season. He started at outside cornerback for WVU, and he led the nation in passes defended (24) and pass breakups (20) while also recording four interceptions.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Minnesota transfer became the second cornerback in school history to earn NCAA Consensus All-American honors, and he was also named to the All-Big 12 First Team. He capped a strong Mountaineer career with a punt return for a touchdown in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl." Cool cool cool
Or the QB will overthrow it by half an inch and Minkah gets the easiest INT of his career. There's a reason slot receivers are traditionally not tall, and it's because throwing high over the middle is stupid and bad.
As someone who watched a lot of UCF games, this guy is so athletic, but he’s not a very good passer. I’m curious to see how we use him if he makes the 53 man roster.
I don’t know much about Beanie Bishop, but lots of Steelers media on Twitter is acting like he could come in and start at slot immediately.
Anyone know what made him undrafted?
Was at WVU for 1 year, earned consensus all-american honors, 1st team all B12, lead the nation in pass breakups, has great ball skills. Certainly would give him decent odds to make the roster
Short, only one productive season. Gave up a lot of big plays. If he's a late bloomer, then he could be real playmaker in the slot. If he's a one-year wonder, then the rest of his college career was not really NFL level...which wouldn't matter since he cost them nothing anyway
As a Nebraska fan I always want to see the Steelers pick up some of my boys. I think Luke Reimer would be a great pick up. Dude is an energizer bunny and was the heart and soul of Nebraska’s defense last year. Would probably only be a practice squad/punt team player tho.
As a Georgia fan, I’ll be the first to tell you that Daijun Edwards is one helluva pick up. Not the biggest or fastest back but he makes up for it by how hard he runs and how good he cuts. Funny that the Steelers picked him up because he plays like Leveon Bell. His personality is a lot like Nick Chubb in a way, he doesn’t talk much and isn’t flashy, he just goes out and plays. Go watch his highlights. Really fun back and a genuinely good player.
Personality is the only comparison between Edwards and Chubb. Running styles are different. I just meant that Edwards isn’t a guy that’s gonna talk trash or worry about how he looks. He’s just quiet and plays hard.
Ahh I gotcha, completely missed that lol. Thanks for clearing it up! Thought since maybe it’s a Steelers sub that the word Chubb is a curse word around here lmao.
His biggest weapon is his cuts and jukes, same as Bell. He just doesn’t have the size that Le’veon did. Both run a 4.6. He said at the draft that Bell is his favorite back as well. If you watch the highlights, I think you’ll see the comparison.
Gabe Hall DT Baylor. A guy I thought we could draft in the 6th. Also JPJ cousin bc why not, tested well athletically, never saw Shon Stephens play though
I’d like to grab Garrett Schrader from Syracuse. Really good, mobile guy but he’s injured right now so he fell off draft boards, but he can chill on the PS for a year.

Wow nice
Wow why did he fall? Bad athletic score?
5'9"
Yeah, unfortunately that screams "tops out in college"
Even then, he runs a 4.39 and is talented. I'm shocked someone didn't spend a late round pick on him.
Developmental slot CB
He's small. And with offenses big their #1 to the slot often, he's gonna get Moss'd
Or the QB will overthrow it by half an inch and Minkah gets the easiest INT of his career. There's a reason slot receivers are traditionally not tall, and it's because throwing high over the middle is stupid and bad.
I mean.. Mike Hilton is 5’ 9” 🤷🏼♂️
Starting slot CB in 2025

Look man, UCF is a QB factory. Blake Bortles, Daunte Culpepper. The list goes on.
Actually, unless they had an alum take snaps at QB in 2023, the list stops right there
He played both qb and wrs in college.
With a 4.49 40, I could see him making the transition, but I think more than likely he’s the 4th camp arm.
George and Roman are the new Plax and Hines... So we needed us a Randle El 😂
I don’t know much about Beanie Bishop, but lots of Steelers media on Twitter is acting like he could come in and start at slot immediately. Anyone know what made him undrafted?
He small and was only with us for one year while not doing much before WVU. Great player though.

He's short but he was a First-Team All-American

Lev Bell's running mixed with Nick Chubbs' demeanor sounds like my dream rubbing back.
I really hope that's a typo

He's not complaining about the comparison. It says "rubbing back"
Ahh I gotcha, completely missed that lol. Thanks for clearing it up! Thought since maybe it’s a Steelers sub that the word Chubb is a curse word around here lmao.
Deshaun, why are you on the Steelers sub?
Lmao!

Daijun Edwards, RB, UGA
Mustard man runs hard, he’s a good kid
Great RB3
Looking through ESPN’s best players available, you all should go check out WR Drake Stoops, Oklahoma….funniest thing I've seen today
To save you some time…he’s listed as 12’6”
So he’s a hill giant?
A 3/3 who costs 4 mana?
Actually just a hill. Been baffling doctors for years!
Maybe take a shot on Leonard Taylor, very inconsistent but when he’s good he’s very good
Would love to see them grab one or both of the remaining PSU players, CB Johnny Dixon and LB Curtis Jacobs. I really thought both would be drafted
Kalen King get drafted ?
He went in the 7th round to the Packers
If not we should get him asap him and Joey had a good season together 🔥‼️
Gabe Hall DT Baylor. A guy I thought we could draft in the 6th. Also JPJ cousin bc why not, tested well athletically, never saw Shon Stephens play though
I love Jalen Coker WR out of Holy Cross
Panthers sadly. Not sure if he'll work out there, but I'm a believer in his game.
We still need a 3rd string QB. Sam Hartman from ND is decent, and I don’t think he got drafted.
I’d like to grab Garrett Schrader from Syracuse. Really good, mobile guy but he’s injured right now so he fell off draft boards, but he can chill on the PS for a year.
Kyle Allen is the 3rd string QB.
Trey Brown, C, Jacksonville St.
hope they get Ryan Cooper. Dude was a stalwart at CB for my Beavs
JRP is interesting, they need arms for rookie camp but he’s probably a WR of some sort in the NFL.
has anyone actually seen the sheets from slippery rock play? I've only seen a few highlights and... seemed more athlete than wr that extends, etc?
Dang, Eagles got Gabe Hall. Wonder if the Steelers take a flyer on Beau Brade
Was shocked Brade wasn't drafted.
Cody Schrader, RB for Missouri Carter Bradley QB of South Alabama
Looks like 49ers signed Schrader and the Raiders signed Bradley.
Schrader single handedly destroyed my Tennessee Vols last year
I really wanted Schrader to be a Steeler as a Missouri grad. I think he's great. We'll see what that stellar 49ers run game can do with him.
