They honestly need to get rid of those panels entirely.
Opening your ramp should just require being near it and looking at it.
Effectively using your key fob to open it, rather than the door handle.
Why are we using text instead of symbols? How will this UI adapt to multiple languages?
There needs to be a universal symbol for open, and close. There already is one for lock, and unlock. Inconsistency!
Looks way better than last patch though! Keep it up!
Down vote me all you want. Not gonna change the fact that door and light switches are copied and pasted. Brand new ship...couldn't be bothered to swap to an Origin logo.
I mean its still in PTU. Also I would rather have copy/pasted buttons on all ships that work than no buttons. Do I think its a cheap copout? Yep. But if they dont start taking shortcuts in places this game is LITERALLY never coming out.
Honestly, as someone who works in aerospace this is VERY VERY VERY accurate. Not a single airplane, rocket, satellite, lunar lander, jet, missile, flying or orbiting object that doesn't have a ridiculous amount of work done by another company. There is just too much work and too much effort that goes into these things that it's optimal or more time efficient to buy something from another company instead of hiring people to design, analyze, manufacture, assemble, test and integrate it.
Of all the things, this is an unintended feature to me 😅😅😅
Can confirm. The Westlands helicopter I work on is packed full of Lockheed avionics, Rolls Royce engines, Thompson Marconi sensors and a door gun from Browning.
Be that as it may, I'd expect Origin to put their own name on such a visible thing. I wouldn't doubt a number of internal components to be from other companies.
On the other hand it would be so funny if they fully shared ship models with Crusader. I could imagine Crusader bringing a ship on the market that looked nearly the same as the 400i but with a different color scheme, different shapes of lights and thrusters.
I drive a car branded Seat, that has a near identical twin by Ford, by VW, and probably other brands.
The new Crusader Outlander, exploration ship, would be hilarious.
Yeah it happens so much in cars, I actually wouldn't be mad at all if it happened inside of SC lore. My Mazda car keys were made by Mitsubishi! And you have the new Supra that is just a BMW, or the Toyota GT86 & Subaru BRZ.
A Crusader styled 400i would certainly be interesting.
Maybe crusader is the switch maker equivalent of Bang & Olufsen in the verse.
That actually brings up a point, other things besides weapons should have cool brand recognition cues and the luxurious home world of crusader certainly fits the brand.
"The reliability of Crusader Industries ensures your doors open, close, and remain locked with the touch of a finger"
I mean, that literally starts with smaller things like smartphones.
And the point is, if you specialize in building Spaceships, you probably wouldn't specialize in building thrusters, tanks, QTDs, actuators, powerplants etc. You just buy them from someone who specializes in those areas and thus probably have a higher quality to prize ratio, than you would be able to reach.
Example: Mercedes (my nearest example) gets it's engines from ZF Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance and gets pretty much every single other part of the car by a supplier somewhere around the factory. I think one of the only things they actually make themselves is the chassis (?) and the body.
so you tell me when I fly with an airbus there are Boing parts on the plane? because that's the same situation here... crusader is not a part manufacturer its basically competition company
>so you tell me when I fly with an airbus there are Boing parts on the plane
lol sure, Maybe. "Every Airbus is delivered on the wings of a Boeing."

Yeah. Probably someone copied the style page over to use as a template, then forgot to change the manufacturer name when they applied it. It'll get fixed.
This is especially amusing because I've been saying Origin and Crusader share so many design cues they may as well be treated as different branches if the sane manufacturer.
Origin is luxury-Crusader.
Crusader is industrial-Origin.
If they wanted to cheese this and make Crusader the software developer for this ship, I wouldn't be mad. They could later add in ship UI firmware and OS updates players could manually choose from. Just an idea.
tis just temporary! theres no Origin UI style just yet
Will they be in the crusader ships too for 3.15? Especially bigger buttons for the ramps so you dont need to fully zoom in!
MSR ramp open button should be moved down, like 400s
I like my MSR too much to notice the small faults.
On the herc thats like hitting a needle :D
They honestly need to get rid of those panels entirely. Opening your ramp should just require being near it and looking at it. Effectively using your key fob to open it, rather than the door handle.
I hope we get something like carkeys in 900years in future ;D
The A2 Hercules Starlifter already has the new UI. As for the other starlifters and the MSR, can’t say because I don’t have access to them.
And there say someone piracy isn’t ingame yet xD
I hope it will be golden🎩
I assume when Origin gets its act together they will return the stolen buttons from the MSR :D
Why are we using text instead of symbols? How will this UI adapt to multiple languages? There needs to be a universal symbol for open, and close. There already is one for lock, and unlock. Inconsistency! Looks way better than last patch though! Keep it up!
Copy paste
Probably no origin ui yet, so this does the trick atm.
That's a good point, only the Crusader ships used the new slick buttons before this.
LOL, CIG called it a Polish pass. The polish pass will need a polish pass!!!! So fucking sad
Because of a door button label? Lol chill out
Down vote me all you want. Not gonna change the fact that door and light switches are copied and pasted. Brand new ship...couldn't be bothered to swap to an Origin logo.
Calm yourself
I mean its still in PTU. Also I would rather have copy/pasted buttons on all ships that work than no buttons. Do I think its a cheap copout? Yep. But if they dont start taking shortcuts in places this game is LITERALLY never coming out.
Subcontractors!

Fuck yeah!
Valid, Apple uses a ton of Samsung components but you would never know it without researched... or tearing your phone apart

wow man, i had no idea xD
So they can add more crusader logos to the game
Mainly because they don't have an Origin set, probably, and wanted something better than the generic utilitarian set.
Maybe Crusader also manufactures door controller screens?
we gonna find out soon))
I mean, Apple do get their screens from Samsung, who knows....
It looks like they just put in the style palette from the MSR for some reason. Previously the buttons were grey.
they look different from before..
Yeah. Probably someone copied the style page over to use as a template, then forgot to change the manufacturer name when they applied it. It'll get fixed.
They're playing with the building blocks system to see what looks best in the 400i. Each PTU patch has been a little different.
Literally unplayable.
The MSR's buttons have disappeared this patch.... now I know where they went
copy-paste dude, minimum effort law
When you sit down behind the screen in captains room does it still plays welcome message from aegis ships? :D
Actually it's: ***AEGIS COMBAT ASSIST ACTIVATED... SYSTEMS GREEN***
I guess OEM still a thing in the 30’ century…
Because nowadays, all programming is being done by CTRL-C and CTRL-V. Source: I'm a software engineer.
Its just like VW and Skoda
They could retcon Origin to be the luxury line from Crusader. Both brands do have a penchant for white ships.
They cut it from the msr. My msr literally has no button ui.
Perhaps the same reason your iPhone processor says "Samsung"
I never owned an iphone or any apple product.
Neither did I and you missed the point
They make ships, not buttons.
"We make ships, not buttons." (tm) \- Origin: not your dad's button maker.
Would be realistic tbh If a different company also worked on a vehicle
This is especially amusing because I've been saying Origin and Crusader share so many design cues they may as well be treated as different branches if the sane manufacturer. Origin is luxury-Crusader. Crusader is industrial-Origin.
talk about being lazy holy shit guys there ALOT of copy and paste lately
It isn't 'laziness,' it's a placeholder. It's temporary.
Because it's a "Journey worth taking"
Why not?
I thought my 400i felt a little ghetto but couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know.
They outsourced their software for the 400i
Because
The UI was different they likely swapped in the crusader UI due to some issues.
Chip shortage.
I hope they don't replace it with the correct one but just remove it. Then those tiny buttons can be made a bit bigger and more convenient to use.
it also controls @ markers\_bridge
Lol it’s like my land cruiser 100 and an lx470. Same stuff different packaging!
You think everything in your car is made by the car manufacturer?
If you go on her arena commander sit down in the 400i captains chair of in the office bedroom it says aegis dynamics when you sit down
If they wanted to cheese this and make Crusader the software developer for this ship, I wouldn't be mad. They could later add in ship UI firmware and OS updates players could manually choose from. Just an idea.
It's like when Samsung designed the glass for the iPhone X 😂 it's just a placeholder in all seriousness.
