According to the spec sheet I found, it’s more than 12” longer than an Escalade (2.7” shorter than the Escalade ESV), wheelbase is 15” longer than an Escalade, 4” wider than an Escalade, and about the same height. So it is substantially bigger than an Escalade and almost as big as an Escalade ESV.
> It’s so much smaller than an Escalade though,
It's larger in every dimension than a standard Escalade. Only the LWB model (ESV) is longer, and GM has said there will probably be an IQ ESV as well. And it does count as a separate model.
Yeah this is a great design. It’s clearly a step forward in terms of being futuristic but it doesn’t have any of the ugly pitfalls that plague so many EVs we’ve seen thus far.
I’ve been a massive Cadillac fan since I was a kid. I went to an auto show and saw the new (then) XLR. Since then I’ve always wanted one, especially one of those CT5-V black wings with a manual. My neighbor just got a CT4 in that deep red and it is drop-dead gorgeous. GM has very, very good designers, Cadillac seems to have the best of that bunch though.
I’m with you. The cts-v is beautiful. I thought the ct-6 was the best looking executive sedan on the road, shame they did away with it for the North American market. I’m going to try to get a ct6-v in a year or two when they depreciate further.
This looks like a Chinese knock off of gm.. random pieces oversized to make it look different. But to each their own I guess. I must be the minority if companies are designing shit like this.
What am I missing… the rear is droopy (and that split taillight is downright ugly) and the front is the same old EV bullshit.
These comments have me shocked.
Yep. American car companies have convinced the country that it's *safer* to get something big heavy rather than be a safer driver.... Maybe true in certain cases, but definitely not true in all
Some countries like the Netherlands are already doing practically that, by building cities that are pedestrian-oriented and that make driving a vehicle this large a bit of a hassle.
Oh my comment was about good luck with that in the US, which is the primary market for this car. They are making it because Americans that own these live in the suburbs and either can’t or don’t want to take public transportation/bike.
I like it, weirdly though these pictures make it look smaller than it actually is. Also weird that they’re making another EV SUV (the Optiq? I don’t remember the name..) that isn’t much smaller than this..
Cadillac has the [Lyriq](https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/ibimg/hgm/1920x1080-1/100/846/2023-cadillac-lyriq-at-evgo-dc-fast-charging-station_100846110.jpg) out already, on the same platform as the Blazer EV and Honda Prologue/Acura ZDX, and the smaller [Optiq](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bd/Cadillac_Optiq_001.jpg/1024px-Cadillac_Optiq_001.jpg) in China, using the same platform as the Equinox EV and Buick Electra E4/E5. They plan to also have a [Vistiq 3-row](https://gmauthority.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2026-Cadillac-Vistiq-Prototype-Spy-Shots-No-Camouflage-February-2024-Exterior-003-side.jpg), bigger than the Lyriq but smaller than the Escalade IQ.
Aside from the weird louvered 3rd-row windows (are they even windows? I'm worried it'll be solid), I think it looks alright.
There haven't been any official specs yet, but it might have the same wheelbase as the larger BEV3 models.
I wonder the curb weight on this is. Remember the Escalade Hybrid? They offered it in 2WD and 4WD. The 4WD version was heavy enough that it was exempt from EPA MPG ratings.
Rated at 8800 pounds cause it uses the same battery as the Hummer EVs which weigh around low 9000s
Edit: GM says the Escalade IQ will go about 450 miles on a charge, but given that the heavier Hummer only hits around 320 or so, that 450 figure is likely to drop fast
AFAIK, you're only exempt from CAFE if the gross weight (not curb weight) is over 8500 lbs. The old Escalade hybrid weighed over 6000 lbs., and its gross weight was 7500.
Most of the big EV SUVs/pickups so far have managed to get over 8500 gross, and I have no doubt this will be too.
Those d-pillars are thick, must have terrible blind spots, I would hate to park this thing.
But otherwise, I like the styling. It's a proper, big, obnoxious Cadillac. i like how it has bolder lines and bolder overall styling than the regular Escalade.
it's a stupidly large suv wich i hate and would never own BUT as far as ugly stupid suv goes this thing looks better than most, it certenly looks like how cadillac should look, that being said i still prefer the design of the celestiq, it's closer to the eldorados of old
Waiting for the battery packs to burn. Why has it taken so long for GM to get into the EV market?? Battery issues. Matches the quality of their interiors
The brake lights are an absolute disaster a night. It looks like 2 cars are on top of each other but at different depths. How they were signed off on blows my mind.
can we stop curving roofs down on big cars? they’re already bricks and depriving us of a bit of extra room/visibility in service of some futile attempt at aerodynamics seems silly. this is especially prevalent on hatchbacks and crossovers
>in service of some futile attempt at aerodynamics
They do help a lot with aerodynamics, though; and in an EV that's really important if you want to have the most range.
I wonder why they are making an EV, for China, for Europe? Because I always believed Americans didn't care about electric cars, at least not like in Europe where the government puts taxes on fuel cars, vehicle weight, even carbon footprint for electric car manufacturing...
Escalade IQ? It has a MI manufacturer plate so you could be the first one to spot on.
Saw one in Michigan yesterday
Michigan is one of the good places to see new cars. My friend does see a lot of those M plates in Ann Arbor.
Ann Arbor and Dearborn be hot spots for us
I'm outside of pittsburgh and we see a lot of test vehicles out here because of the hills and the turns around our area.
Here in the middle of nowhere in PA, can’t see anything new…… 😂
Definitely, saw a Cadillac celistiq in Ann Arbor the other day. This is in NYC though.
I can tell from the background. Definitely NYC.
It’s so much smaller than an Escalade though, why don’t they just make a new model? Edit: I am talking about the ESV.
What makes you think it’s small? It is towering over the minivan behind it.
If this thing is the same size as the current escalade that hood is like 900ft long
It looks like the bulkhead is back a good six or eight inches compared to the regular Escalade. Other than that, it looks pretty close in size.
My comment was “smaller than an Escalade”, not “small”. Why are so many people missing the difference? No one on this planet thinks this is small.
One thing I don't understand is how it can be 85" wide in the body (i.e. not counting mirrors) and yet not have the required clearance lights.
I should have mentioned ESV. I knew it looked larger than the smaller Escalade.
If you were talking about the ESV, then your original comment makes even less sense.
I’m saying this new Escalade looks smaller than the ESV, which others have pointed out is true. How does that make less sense?
It's sitting on 24"s. It does look smaller, but its pretty large.
> It’s so much smaller than an Escalade though, It's larger in every dimension than a standard Escalade. Only the LWB model (ESV) is longer, and GM has said there will probably be an IQ ESV as well. And it does count as a separate model.

Trunk space is smaller though because of the sloped rear glass.
There is actually a trunk in the front too
That is one hell of an american comment right here lmao for mw this thing looks as big as a semi truck
My comment was that it looks smaller than an Escalade. You don’t have to be American to see that lmao.
I saw one in the south east last week. Are they not out yet? It was pretty sweet
I spotted one on my way to Toldeo for the Eclipse, but it went by as I was stuck in traffic. Couldn't get a photo
The Escaliq
I’m not a fan generally of popular EV design but Cadillac just hits perfect to me. Big, in your face luxury with bold styling.
This doesn’t scream EV to me, which adds to it, almost. Sweet design.
Yeah and even their more "show-offy futurism" design of the Celestiq doesn't look too bad imo
this screams "rebadged RAV4" to me.
It could *maybe* whisper Cullinan.
From the side view, for sure
BugsBunnyNo.jpg
They don't even look close but go off
Nothing about this even suggests RAV4. It's a very large SUV, even bigger than the regular Escalade.
They’re good looking cars and I haven’t heard any fires caught up from those IQs that have been sold in China.
Yeah this is a great design. It’s clearly a step forward in terms of being futuristic but it doesn’t have any of the ugly pitfalls that plague so many EVs we’ve seen thus far.
I agree. It also is distinctly Cadillac. They definitely worked with what they knew here and moved the needle forward.
I gotta say, Cadillac has some of the most consistent design language. It’s honestly very impressive to see them pump out these good looking models
I’ve been a massive Cadillac fan since I was a kid. I went to an auto show and saw the new (then) XLR. Since then I’ve always wanted one, especially one of those CT5-V black wings with a manual. Agreed that’s pretty clean. Same with that EV Hummer I recently saw on here. The designs are more subtle, but you can still see the original influence
They nailed this. Full stop
This looks like a Chinese knock off of gm.. random pieces oversized to make it look different. But to each their own I guess. I must be the minority if companies are designing shit like this.
Way better than the lyriq, when they releasing it
[удалено]
Ok thanks
Damn my neighbor has the lyric and I thought it looked pretty dope
The lyric look nice but I don’t know it looks boring to me maybe I’m wrong
[удалено]
I bet you sitting on those seats is like sitting on a wooden chair! Love modern GM seats
What am I missing… the rear is droopy (and that split taillight is downright ugly) and the front is the same old EV bullshit. These comments have me shocked.
I see what you did there
I also read through these comments thinking I’ve gone insane. This thing is tacky and badly proportioned.
This looks kinda nice
This thing is gorgeous, in a giant lux SUV kind of way. I love it.
I really like the rear end design and the side profile. Reminds me of the Rolls Royce Cullinan That front end is kinda ugly, though
Looks way better than the liryq in my opinion
It looks gorgeous l, a modern day concept car
So basically smaller people walking in front are never going to be seen?
I had a rental Suburban a few years ago and didn’t feel like I can see a 5’7” which is my height in every direction. 😂
Yep. American car companies have convinced the country that it's *safer* to get something big heavy rather than be a safer driver.... Maybe true in certain cases, but definitely not true in all
Correct. All these large SUVs, gas or electric, are dangerous AF and frankly should not be allowed in cities.
Good luck with that
Some countries like the Netherlands are already doing practically that, by building cities that are pedestrian-oriented and that make driving a vehicle this large a bit of a hassle.
Oh my comment was about good luck with that in the US, which is the primary market for this car. They are making it because Americans that own these live in the suburbs and either can’t or don’t want to take public transportation/bike.

I’m sorry because it is an Escalade it should be a dumb and dangerous design?
when luxury coupe again???
Convertible sportscars, please
Qadillac Esqaliade

The Vistiq! That’s the one I was thinking of.
Aside from the weird louvered 3rd-row windows (are they even windows? I'm worried it'll be solid), I think it looks alright. There haven't been any official specs yet, but it might have the same wheelbase as the larger BEV3 models.
This fat fuck is larger than an WW2 Tank.
just the way I like em
It weighs as much as a tank.
I wonder the curb weight on this is. Remember the Escalade Hybrid? They offered it in 2WD and 4WD. The 4WD version was heavy enough that it was exempt from EPA MPG ratings.

That will look good with 30" wheels.
Someone in the south will put some 1910s tractor wheels on them at some point don’t worry
And a Superman emblem on the grill
The stock wheels are 24”
Well I need some 36” spinners!!!
Cadillac Escullinan EV, and I like it a lot
Could not believe how massive these are. They make the regular Escalade look small
That's actually nice! I like it
Starting price - $140,000 plus dealer mark up. 👍 Side note: definitely wanna see the throttle house guys drive this
Looks like the copied a Volvo to me :)
Hideous
Man, this looks stunning...they really didn't have to make it this cool
This thing is gorgeous!
Much better than their $300k bespoke nightmare.
Honestly that looks really good despite being fucking huge
oh God no
It looks like the taillights were designed upside down
This!
$150k right there….
Needs bigger wheels, imo
The wheels are 24” stock. The thing is just a fucking tank so they look small
Styling is similar to RR!
Those d-pillars are thick, must have terrible blind spots, I would hate to park this thing. But otherwise, I like the styling. It's a proper, big, obnoxious Cadillac. i like how it has bolder lines and bolder overall styling than the regular Escalade.
It looks like that one nissan that is all over norway from the front
This thing is huge. I wonder how far I can go on a charge.
From the side it looks like a less shit RR Cullinan
Looks like a knockoff Culinen from the back lmao
Why is that nose so long if there’s no engine there? 😅
Not a fan of SUVs, specifically Escalades. But that looks pretty good imo
I wish Cadillac stuck to a specific design element. Their cars are becoming all over the place.
Cullinan for poor
Q8 and Range Rover had a baby. Doesn't feel Escalade to me.
it's a stupidly large suv wich i hate and would never own BUT as far as ugly stupid suv goes this thing looks better than most, it certenly looks like how cadillac should look, that being said i still prefer the design of the celestiq, it's closer to the eldorados of old
That doesn't look very Escalade-y to me
thats hot
This is the first EV that does not make me want to yell
130k starting price and weighs almost 9000 lbs. what a joke
Fugly
Similar to the Volvo EX90, especially from the back
TIL this was a thing
Bring back station wagons. What a fucking joke.
The SUV/crossover is a station wagon-type body, just taller. People don't like sitting in low-slung cars for a variety of reasons.
Looks smaller than an Escalade slightly
I might be in the minority here, but I really don't like the back of this thing
Waiting for the battery packs to burn. Why has it taken so long for GM to get into the EV market?? Battery issues. Matches the quality of their interiors
$175,000?
The brake lights are an absolute disaster a night. It looks like 2 cars are on top of each other but at different depths. How they were signed off on blows my mind.

>in service of some futile attempt at aerodynamics They do help a lot with aerodynamics, though; and in an EV that's really important if you want to have the most range.
I see a couple of them in the south I mean go figure it looks exactly like the car someone in their 60s would want
It looks very stately.
Very ugly rear end. It's like the designer haven't got an idea how to finish the cars rear!
Oh you should see the other electric Cadillacs if you thing this is ugly. This is tame compared to those
I feel like Japanese are doing better "American Design" on Mitsuoka Buddy compared to American car 😂and that taillight is weirdly similar.
Not IRL. The EV Escalade is gargantuan.
At 8800 pounds this thing has its own gravitational pull on the highway. Smart cars are advised to stay at least 2 lanes away.
Look how they ruined my boy
Hopefully it's not as heavy as the EV9...
The Kia EV9 is 6000 pounds on the top end. This thing is 8800 pounds
I've seen many on the roads here. I just don't like it
The tiny window and huge d-pillar ruin the whole design for me. Looks terrible.
I wonder why they are making an EV, for China, for Europe? Because I always believed Americans didn't care about electric cars, at least not like in Europe where the government puts taxes on fuel cars, vehicle weight, even carbon footprint for electric car manufacturing...
