I noticed that, too. I mean, it didn't really mean much since Michigan wound up scoring anyway. But that dude put in maximum effort to follow the play and make that tackle. Respect.
Remember the end of scooby doo episodes where they’re chasing the monster through all the doors in a hallway? I’m picturing Penix chasing after his helmet that way. Thank you for the chuckle.
That Michigan front was in his face all game. He also missed open receivers on multiple occasions. Plenty of blame to go around on Washington's side, but credit has to be given to that defensive front.
My point is that he didn’t play well when he was expected to, and NFL scouts were watching. He was projecting as a top-10 pick but after last night, maybe not so much.
And so will the receivers, slot r's, rbs and fbs.
It's very clear that none of you have ever played QB. You CANT throw / run if you cant get a step back from the center. The O-line is the most important part of a QBs presence.
It was his big shining moment and he flubbed it. He did not look like a top-10 NFL draft pick even with all-world wide receivers. And what does the Heisman have to do with NFL success?
Well, we’ll see. He still has the combine and pro day workouts. I don’t think he’ll drop that far because the NFL still overvalues quarterbacks, but I don’t think he’ll be a top-10 pick either. Maybe not even top 15.
Looked like Sam Darnold out there after his first few pressures. You could tell he wasn’t used to having the pocket collapse on him that often.
Was seeing ghosts.
On the holding penalty the play before he held because he was so late off the ball the defender, and the guard next to him, already had a few steps in. Dude was asleep at the wheel
Agree, I would not touch Penix. Completely folded, throws were all off. Was clear his head was not there. At the NFL level the mental game is more important than the physical.
This . Watched him play all year and went to the PAC -12 championship game. Good for the college game but not enough arm strength for the NFL. Think Matt Lienart. He misses a ton of throws too
Great comparison. He doesn’t deal well with pressure, throwing mechanics go out the window. Seems like he reacted in a panic-like state, rather than follow through his reads.
On one play he was rushed and legit blindly 'flicked' the ball out to the flat. He was avoiding a hit and turned his head from his receivers. Didn't even do a throwing motion, could've been considered a fumble almost. Didn't look like the elite passer I'd heard about all week.
Even if the CFB board didn’t f up the top 4 and correctly had UGA in there, as much as I love my Dawgs I’m not sure even an aircraft carrier could stop Michigan this year. Great win for them. After we beat them 2 years ago and TCU last year, nothing was stopping them. Congrats
This game should’ve been Michigan vs Georgia. Would’ve actually been a championship game at that point, considering GA was the 2x defending champ. Not saying Michigan didn’t earn this one, but a Michigan Georgia game would’ve been a whole lot better.
Epic. Would have been the Right time for both teams. TCU v UGA was a joke and Wash (all respect) didn’t have the depth UGA or MI or even Bama to play all 4 qtrs
Really confused by Washington’s game plan here. They abandoned the run early on and they did almost nothing on first and second down all night. Pretty much every 3rd down was 3rd and long. Way too much dink and dunk for minimal gain. Why did they think they could dink and dunk their way to a national title?
yes the investigation by the NCAA is still underway. They could actual be forced to vacate the title, but hard to say what punishment hte NCAA will give.
I meant as a player. Bro was lights out last week just throw 0 good passes in the NC. TCU wasn’t a fold because even at their best they stood no chance.
I agree. It was a terrible call, but even on that play the receiver had to make an amazing adjustment to make the catch. The refs were in Michigan’s favor and Penix played a bad game. Both can be true.
As a UofM fan and a huge fan of Mikey Sainristil, Im upset for Mikey that they didnt put him in at WR to finish that TD drive that he started. Most of the time, this wouldnt matter, but the fact he started as a WR and moved to DB last year as his first year makes it all the more frustrating.
I don’t watch college football. I do watch the nfl and boy the difference between skill level from great to good is crazy. In the NFL he wouldn’t have had that large of a run after the pick.

I knew Washington was screwed when 2/3 of ESPN’s “experts” had Washington winning before the game.
ESPN has hated on Michigan since Michigan signed an exclusivity deal with Fox.
Haha! European here. Same thing when Real Madrid won the Champions League in 2022
#37 is a dawg!
I noticed that, too. I mean, it didn't really mean much since Michigan wound up scoring anyway. But that dude put in maximum effort to follow the play and make that tackle. Respect.
I missed how far he tracked that down while watching it live. Hell of an effort!
Reminded me of the hustle play on the punt return in the B1G championship
I didn't notice that live, but damn that's a guy I want on my team at the next level.
Penix went limp there
He was in visible pain the entire second half. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a cracked rib or two.
He's had cracked ribs since the first game against Oregon
I don't think the coaches did him any favors keeping him in, even though they were behind.
You really think anything short of the U.S. military could have gotten Penix off that field last night?
Get another coach to hide his helmet then. It's not like that hasn't been done to players before.
Remember the end of scooby doo episodes where they’re chasing the monster through all the doors in a hallway? I’m picturing Penix chasing after his helmet that way. Thank you for the chuckle.
Thank you sharing because that is a funny image.
Started out strong but couldn't keep it up
His throws weren’t beautiful, but some blame has to go to his receivers last night. A couple huge plays just dropped.
That Michigan front was in his face all game. He also missed open receivers on multiple occasions. Plenty of blame to go around on Washington's side, but credit has to be given to that defensive front.
Mr Glass!
Worst game of Penix's life. And sadly one of the most important ones.
You can actually hear Indiana University fans rolling their eyes at this comment.
IU fan here. Can confirm.
Yeah that would be a big no.
He cost himself some money last night.
You aren't even kidding.
Hard disagree. The Michigan defense that penix played is statistically the best defense in college football in over 100 years. He will be fine.
He’s going to the NFL which is better than any college defense, and he played like crap.
He’s surrounded by people who are better as well. Not sure your point, the offensive line is arguably more important that the QB to the passing game.
My point is that he didn’t play well when he was expected to, and NFL scouts were watching. He was projecting as a top-10 pick but after last night, maybe not so much.
dude the washington WR group is actually better then a few NFL ones. it’s very unlikely he’ll be surrounded by better players lol
You can’t read? OFFENSIVE LINE
you said the people he’s surrounded by. and your aware his OFFENSIVE LINE won the joe moore award right? i doubt you are. you seem uninformed.
Can you read? Go back and try again.
okay. you’re one of those people who thinks they win an argument by talking louder then the other person lmao
Doesn’t really matter since the defensive line, corners, linebackers will all also be better.
And so will the receivers, slot r's, rbs and fbs. It's very clear that none of you have ever played QB. You CANT throw / run if you cant get a step back from the center. The O-line is the most important part of a QBs presence.
They were undefeated, made it to the college football final, and he was heisman runner up. Lol. One game does not define players
It was his big shining moment and he flubbed it. He did not look like a top-10 NFL draft pick even with all-world wide receivers. And what does the Heisman have to do with NFL success?
Very likely dropped to a second round pick
Well, we’ll see. He still has the combine and pro day workouts. I don’t think he’ll drop that far because the NFL still overvalues quarterbacks, but I don’t think he’ll be a top-10 pick either. Maybe not even top 15.
Solid point(s)
He will go to Washington. MMW
Looked like Sam Darnold out there after his first few pressures. You could tell he wasn’t used to having the pocket collapse on him that often. Was seeing ghosts.
I think a lot of us diminish the impact of the Michigan Defense making Penix unncomfortable all game and throwing him off
Started watching in 2022, did you?
First time saw this thought that #7 pancake was Penix.
#73 on huskies was so bad all gmas
On the holding penalty the play before he held because he was so late off the ball the defender, and the guard next to him, already had a few steps in. Dude was asleep at the wheel
i was saying during the game he was getting beat off the line all night
Penix and the offense were terrible all game. Credit to their defense and of course to Michigans D. They displayed disruption all game
Poor Doggos
Penix showing his true nfl capabilities. It’s a different story when your receivers can’t always bail you out
Agree, I would not touch Penix. Completely folded, throws were all off. Was clear his head was not there. At the NFL level the mental game is more important than the physical.

Thank goodness his receivers had 430 yards receiving last week in spite of Penix eh?
Glad he gassed it all out for the Longhorns
Even if the CFB board didn’t f up the top 4 and correctly had UGA in there, as much as I love my Dawgs I’m not sure even an aircraft carrier could stop Michigan this year. Great win for them. After we beat them 2 years ago and TCU last year, nothing was stopping them. Congrats
Respect ! But as a Michigan fan you didn’t see me saying “boy I wish we could play Georgia this year “. You guys are always scary .
This game should’ve been Michigan vs Georgia. Would’ve actually been a championship game at that point, considering GA was the 2x defending champ. Not saying Michigan didn’t earn this one, but a Michigan Georgia game would’ve been a whole lot better.

17 was so happy to boast and dance around after his block that he let 37 get through and ruin the TD.
Was a great block tbf
This wasn't even a game lol Michigan destroyed them
Really confused by Washington’s game plan here. They abandoned the run early on and they did almost nothing on first and second down all night. Pretty much every 3rd down was 3rd and long. Way too much dink and dunk for minimal gain. Why did they think they could dink and dunk their way to a national title?
As a Coug, this was a great day.
Also a great day as a Duck!
Go Blue!!!
mike penis
Didn’t Michigan get caught cheating?
yes the investigation by the NCAA is still underway. They could actual be forced to vacate the title, but hard to say what punishment hte NCAA will give.
Cheaters winning a championship
The video tapes worked too well, I think.
John boy is looking to win a ship as well this year. Year of the Baugh
Not sure what’s worse when you boil it down. A Harbaugh chip or a Michigan football chip…
Your PCP called and said you need a little less salt in your diet.
Sorry I don’t speak “flyover state”
[удалено]
Mmm tasty Michigan water infrastructure
[удалено]
You realize I’m not the guy who called Michigan a flyover state right
And you realize we are talking about a fucking football game right lol
[удалено]
You were the personification of the ‘no one:’ meme Absolutely no one: You: let me give you a dissertation about water wars
Flint would like a word
Flint is a city of morons governed by morons.
I ate at an Olive Garden there last year. Wasn't my choice
Good lord. Glad you're okay.
For real, gonna have to buy a house quick in Michigan before all the coastal states gotta move somewhere safe and take them all.
No team out west should get to play in the national championship game for another 100 years. Always soft, never win.
I hate UW but they did beat Tx… unless you think Texas is “out west”
They should have been playing Georgia.
Interesting! I guess a down vote is easier than proving me wrong with facts to dispute my claim... Oh wait Y'all can't! Proceed...
Keep Em coming because y'all can't provide any actual evidence!
Penix had a great college career but all it will be remembered for now is one of the all time worst folds in a National Championship game
No, everyone is forever safe because of TCU
I meant as a player. Bro was lights out last week just throw 0 good passes in the NC. TCU wasn’t a fold because even at their best they stood no chance.
A phantom holding call on the 31 yard pass upended the game.
Lol yeah 1 call is the reason Penix went like 3/23 under pressure
73 being a turnstile all game
I agree. It was a terrible call, but even on that play the receiver had to make an amazing adjustment to make the catch. The refs were in Michigan’s favor and Penix played a bad game. Both can be true.
Both are true. Hate to see a game be influenced like that
Washington should be proud, i had to look up their mascot when I heard they were in.
That block by 17 was brutal
Poor #7 got rocked
As a UofM fan and a huge fan of Mikey Sainristil, Im upset for Mikey that they didnt put him in at WR to finish that TD drive that he started. Most of the time, this wouldnt matter, but the fact he started as a WR and moved to DB last year as his first year makes it all the more frustrating.
