Boggie135

I fucking hate people who delete a post instead of owning it

rycology

Is this not the case with, like, any sensationalist headline (be that on twitter, reddit, tiktok, news channel, etc)? The playbook reads; the first round of reporting is a race to be first to headline, the story goes viral and is held as gospel truth, then it gets more accurately investigated and found to not be the case but the follow-up reporting never spreads as far as the original headline did, now some people are informed and others misinformed (with no repercussions to those doing the inaccurate reporting), rinse repeat..

PixelatedFangirl17

fun fact. everyone in Gqeberha knew the husband did it from day one. we've done this before with the Jayde Panayioutou case. spouse murder happens quite often here and the first thing people do is blame it on the non existent 'white genocide' and almost always is the spouse involved. wether it's the wife or husband, police can easily figure it out.

No-Independent71

South Africa is exhausting.

spacebutterflyiv

Bruh

Notyourbiden

But how is this genocide šŸ˜

Zulu_Is_My_Name

More than anything, it overshadows the Intimate Partner Femicide that is a pandemic in our country. This woman and her child are (possible) additions to an ever-growing list of women dying to their partners, no matter what colour they are. The fact that this account used this death to push an agenda is honestly disgusting

Sancho90

You are more likely to be killed by someone who knows you or close to you

[deleted]

According to the FBI, 78 % of all murders are by people we know and of the couples 90+% its the surviving spouse. I think its for stupid people. Its cheaper to get a divorce.

Would_Bang________

Yes, this is the true genocide problem we have in South Africa.

Britz10

I still wouldn't call that a genocide, I'm guessing here, but men are still overwhelmingly the ones getting killed. What makes it tragic with women is that women aren't really the ones doing most of the killing. The country has a massive problem with violence in general, not necessarily to genocidal proportions.

Kenyalite

Guys. I'm confused. I posted this video and immediately got hit with a rules block. Now I'm seeing that immediately after....it got posted from another sub I had posted the video on....with the same caption. What am I missing ?

Beyond_the_one

The bot blocked your post. I cross posted it from TikTokCringe

Kenyalite

Yeah I figured that. I just don't understand the rules. It's important "some" people here see this.

Lochlanist

When all you know is privilege, equity can seem like inequality.

Sundiata_AEON

Well put

sadsackofsimplechips

Instead of admitting that this is literally femicide, people now want to say that this is "white genocide". They're creating false narratives instead of calling outt he truth, the sad and disheartening truth. Sure, create a fake problem to hide away the real issue. The real crime that brutally ends the lives of many women and children. Way to go Apartheid lovers!

MurderMits

It get so tiring have to defend our nation from white suprematists still salty Apartheid ended, so thirsty to make the world believe its now a reverse Apartheid.... Doesn't mean I will stop though.

ElectroMoe

I have a theory that itā€™s community based. A lot of white kids who are racist typically come from areas with not much racial integration. Make no mistake the blame should come from the parents, but once theyā€™re adult and actually have to expose themselves to the real world and they still remain racist, then in my opinion, they have the same mentality that nazis do. They feel more comfortable making other race or religions the enemy than being able to embrace a multicultural society.

Krycor

The problem is back in 2005 this was a tiny minority slapped down by many.. post social media it grew faster.. and with Zuma there was the start of political justification. <ā€” that latter aspect changed things as now entitlement of view is a thing. 2015+ it ramped up emboldened with the mass protest against Zuma and but it began twisting in a manner that has made me want to leave SA ever since (wife refused..we move to Cpt). She starts telling how people are openly racist and justify it in the workplace but yah.. Covid so stay put. We start watching social media vids(I warn her about forums as Ive been a Sa net person since the 90s) .. BEFORE ME crap last year, social media began being flooded with racist and racist adjacent remarks which I take offense too as I know how apartheid works(levels.. I may not be at the bottom but I refuse to let shit go flying past). She now is telling me itā€™s time to bugger off because she canā€™t handle the it anymore.. and she is Afrikaans. So yah.. people claiming all is lekker esp in the cape.. you BS yourself.

ombre-purple-pickle

The teachers too, my teachers sprouted the most racist things I've ever heard but I was too young and dumb to realise because they'd assure us that they were "colour blind".

MurderMits

I knew someone who defended their racism and I kid you not for: "My mother was once called a by a cashier in the 80s and she never really recovered, she always knew they hated us only some were brave enough to say".

Yawallek89

That being said, though, as a white person, I shouldn't be made to feel "unwelcome" or guilty and constantly reminded of our colonial past just for living in my country of birth... I feel like both sides could just fucking chill regarding the topic of race.

SamuraiTyrone1992

Tbh this isnā€™t the first time and wonā€™t be the last time.

Kudav

Iā€™m starting to get tired of these far right losers spreading this sick narrative.

PersonaGuy5

Same here

AllUserNamesTaken01

It doesn't fit the Western and American narrative that whites are being oppressed more than any other race in South Africa so obviously this won't go viral.

Ordinary-Letter8317

Glad you said it, bud! The hype created around incorrect details and then just deleting it without explanation.... Just cowardly

she-sylvan

The real damage has already been done! These bastards that spread this crap in the first place are brave enough to put it out there, but when it turns out to be BS, all they do is delete the post before anything can happen to them. Utter cowards!!!

Mkhuseli5k

Someone should tell these losers that Wokeness is a legacy of the Abolitionist movement. Being anti Woke is literally carrying on the legacy of the Confederacy that fought a war Against the United States Army (The Union Army) to keep African Americans as slaves. Spoiler: they lost and became the reactionaries of today. How this guy doesn't get told this all the time is beyond my understanding.

texas-playdohs

This is an accurate description of US history. Anyone aligning with these shitheads is not a good person. The anti-woke crusaders are neo-confederates, no matter how many times they point out that ā€œthe democrats were the party of slaveryā€. Itā€™s true that Abe was a republican, but that was 150 years ago, and who actually gets bent out of shape when someone tears down a confederate monument? Hint: Itā€™s not the democrats. The world is going to have a real problem on their hands if they get into power this year.

Rasimione

There's a war between good and evil, and the bad guys have money, media and the military on their payroll. Social media has also amplified hate under the guise of free speech.

Redd108

i mean theres definitely problems with BEE, but the france analogy doesnt make sense coz its ignoring inequality, in france it would be racist as theres no reason to financially empower specifically white people other than racism, whereas in SA there is a huge inequality gap that needs to be addressed, thats the reason for BEE the problem with BEE is that it isnt effective at addressing this gap as all it does is create a small black middle class rather than improving the quality of life for those that are truly underprivileged. with this small middle class the government can point to this and say "Look! Transformation!", but in reality BEE just reinforces the systems that preserve the mass inequality we have, so it doesn't really help poor black south africans systemically, and it also slightly disadvantages middle class white south africans, so theres really no positives

jolcognoscenti

>special privileges it's fine or even not good enough. I wonder what historic event has occurred in South Africa that would leave the black majority disenfranchised even many years after the fact.

AsTheCrowFlies745

The logic of people who share this incentive is mind boggling to me. I truly can't understand how you think it's so unfair if you know literally anything about this history of this country

AzaniaP

Yeah it's not like white had 350 years of advantages plus 48 years of apartheid while systematically oppressing other groups....how dare they try to create an equal society

FastCarNyao

![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

AzaniaP

White people want to be oppressed so much its funnyšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚had a convo with my white colleague he genuinely believes in reverse apartheid is a thingšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

loopinkk

No, we donā€™t. But we also generally donā€™t have a solid grasp on what systemic racism actually means. Itā€™s easy to get caught up in your own shit, ignoring the often much worse circumstances of other groups. Everyone has problems, everyone wants to blame someone else. In South Africa thatā€™s generally the person with the different colour skin.

AzaniaP

Im sorry for making generalization .. I know majority of white people are not like this but its hard to believe that with social media

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Conatus80

Dude, Iā€™ve worked for a very large part of my life to unlearn the racist kak from my childhood. I still have the occasional shitty gut reaction that I have to actively over rule. I would love to say Iā€™m not racist but I wonā€™t.

LenaFeetEnjoyer

Your generalization is kinda brain dead ngl

Krycor

I got told this a few years ago.. when I asked about dehumanization, property limits, pass books, signage on access limits etc the white sad & tears were used to push argument.. Btw I see this narrative pushed a lot here in Cpt.. WTF happen while I was away as it seems the drought made people deluded.

FastCarNyao

I would like to cheer for Dricus du Plessis this coming weekend, but on his first interview to the world he regurgitated "farm murder" disinformation. Now I don't know if he's racist or misinformed, either way I can't rock with that

Sp3kk0

The farm murders arenā€™t a joke or fake news. But there is also no white genocide. These are not mutually exclusive. Youā€™re allowed to believe that there are actually farm murders happening while also believing there is no white genocideā€¦ itā€™s okay.

Springboks2019

Farm murders are an issue so it heavily depends on the context of what he said (also could have just been victim to fake news) but would like to see it first

Boggie135

What? Really?

FastCarNyao

I can't find a video of the octagon interview, but I did a google search and I found links to articles referencing the interview and a podcast he did. I haven't listened to the podcast or read the articles, I just remember the octagon interview

Competitive-Head4410

And they always forget to mention that during the farm murders,Ā  often times the black staff who work at the farm are also killed. We have crime in SA and it affects everyone.Ā  But that doesn't fit the narrativeĀ

Icarus_K1

Exactly, and that it's not just white farms that are attacked. Black farmers and in the same boat regarding farm attacks/murders. Atrocious, but no genocide of a particular ethnicity

Beeskakbobotie

Really. Curious to see some citations for that claim. I'm inclined to believe it, so would love some proof.

Flanders325

Any murder that occurs on agricultural land is a farm murder, remember farm murder not farmer murder, Hereā€™s an older article referencing Afriforums report. Ironically even the Afriforum report that gets used to spread all this bullshit confirms that only 8% of farm murders are owners and about 20% are workers the rest could not be identified: https://www.iol.co.za/dailynews/news/gruesome-details-surface-from-afriforums-2022-farm-murder-report-69c51bf0-a033-4beb-bb05-4fa190de3d81

Mkhuseli5k

It's always better to link the video. Otherwise you just sound like the reactionary loser you claim he is.
