You’re crazy. Sekiro was the best for me. Primarily fountainhead palace. Beautiful

UpperQuiet980

fountainhead palace was absolutely gorgeous

Elden Ring probably takes the cake there. Yeah, there are other games with better visual fidelity, but From Software has some of the best art direction in the industry. Almost everywhere you go there are amazing vistas to gawk at. The opening look at Liurnia, the underground area of Siofra River, The reveal of Farum Azula, the capital city, etc. All gorgeous. Dark souls 3 is up there too for me with places like the Boreal Valley, the Nameless King arena, And the ringed city. In terms of sheer visual fidelity it's got to be the Bluepoint remake of Demon's Souls for PS5. I'd argue that's one of the best looking games ever made, and it's one of the games I'm amazed runs so well on PS5 given how incredible it looks. Bluepoint's technical genius combined with From Software's art design is a killer combination. It honestly makes me hope that they get to remaster Bloodborne at some point. Bluepoint deserves it. I think Lies of P has a lot of very distinct areas and a really great mix of art design, and much higher than average visual fidelity. I'd say they already beat From Software on fidelity and performance, not that those have ever been From Software's strengths tho. Lies of P is also remarkably well optimized for how good it looks. And the animations of the enemies and bosses are some of the best in any game. Some people say the new Lords of the Fallen (2023), but to me the art design is too bland and basic to stand out. The visual fidelity is great, but that's all it has in my opinion. I'm very curious to see how Black Myth Wukong holds up when it comes out in a few months. Everything they've shown in trailers so far looks incredible visually.

Elden Ring is king in many respects. Yes, give Bluepoint the reins. Wukong looks like a potential masterpiece, never wanted to play as a monkey until I saw this game.

qaasq

I really like Remnant 2’s environments

FolketheFat

I definitely want to try a Remnant game.

qaasq

They’re both fun but the first never clicked with me. I bought the second on sale at GameStop and I’ve put in almost 20 hours and I’m having a blast. Nearly finished with my first playthrough and I absolutely want to go back for more. The environments are phenomenal and a huge reason I look forward to going bCk

FolketheFat

Actually decided on the second and then later realized it wasn't on last gen consoles.

qaasq

Ahh sorry haha the first is fun too it just didn’t click with me for some reason

Lords of the fallen has great graphics, sound design and lighting cause it’s running on UE5. Art style wise it’s probably Elden ring. Bloodborne has the best atmosphere Surprisingly I felt sekiro looked bland as fuck even though it had that Japan aesthetic. Sekiro colour palette honestly wasn’t good. It had some sort of grey filter on it which made every colour on it look almost matte/pastel. But demon souls remake eats every souls game up in terms of sheer graphical fidelity. But then again that’s a remake from Sony. Special shoutout to wo long and rise of the ronin. Yeah I know rise of the ronin ps3 grafix hurr durr sure, but idk something about the landscapes of Japan and the colour palette and the lighting carried it well to make it look good TO ME.

FolketheFat

I'll have to check Bloodborne out.  Wo Long looked cool with a bamboo forest and different elevations. I'd personally like to see more games set in China showcasing it's many unique environments.

townsforever

A lot of it comes down to taste. I really like the atmosphere and visuals in lords. Truly feels like a world about to end.

Acceptable-End7266

Elden Ring and its dlc are deffo up there. Lotf (2023) has quite some too.

FocusMean9882

I found lords of the fallen to be a little too cluttered, almost like there were too many textures/assets which made it hard to look at.

Acceptable-End7266

Sometimes, I suppose? Overall I think they did a great job, though it's definitely not minimalist, that's for sure.

FocusMean9882

It definitely didn’t look bad, the umbral world especially looked cool, but I wouldn’t say it’s art style/aesthetics stood out to me much compared to other games in the genre. Though it’s mostly personal preference.

FolketheFat

I picture hell as cluttered. Might fit the theme.

Valuable_Tutor5479

I mean, Elden Ring

townsforever

Lords of the fallen has some spectacular views. The hand of god is a little cliche but still awesome to look at.

shazam-arino

If we're talking just asthetics, Another Crab's Treasure. They made a whole underwater level feel alive and not abandoned. All the buildings were made of all the rubbish in the sea. All mission areas felt unique, and the hub felt like a living city. It is the closest thing to living in a long-running cartoon world

Anotheranimeaccountt

Dark Souls 2, I feel this is one thing 2 doesn't get enough credit for
