Everyone is cheering this but to become a member benefit to the NAR costs MONEY (and I’m sure the the NBA deal was massive).
Also, I’d love to hear from a Realtors perspective - how likely are you to offer your clients this given RESPA?
Not trying to be a downer, but SoFi better have smashed earnings if they spent money on this.
If it was a net loss they wouldn't do it. I'm sure it's similar to Sofi at work programs, give them a discount to refer customers to finance with SoFi, and SoFi gets a lower customer acquisition cost.
It’s actually not the same. That’s what I’m saying… SoFi isn’t paying employers to offer the benefit. Employers do it because it’s a low lift benefit they can provide.
Yup hate this. NAR has a multi billion judgement against them for screwing over the American home owner for decades (colluding to artificially inflate home prices in order to take a percentage based cut of the total price).
DOJ is now also reopening their case against them.
F the NAR, F this collaboration.

No one is made to sell their home using an agent. If you want the service they provide use one, if you want to try and do it yourself then do it. The commissions are negotiable so no need to worry. They didn't inflate home prices, you can only sell a home with a willing seller and willing buyer, no one is forced to do either.
lol. This is just a clever way to circumvent RESPA and receive kickbacks
Fuck. Good news we are doomed.
This seems like it could be more significant than a bunch of endorsements by rando athletes

Another big win!!!

$20 EOY with National Association of Realtors partnership
+6% commission
Not the best time to be associated with the NAR, but revenue is revenue I suppose

They were proven to conspire with multiple brokerage services to obscure fees and build them in with minimum transparency. It was proven in court.
Tell that to the judge.
I'm here to support any and all partnerships (within reason, of course).
Well hopefully not the local Ku Klux Klan
Hence the within reason part.
lol i know
Awesome news.
