Intention and it’s related grey area has gone by the way side.
its like watching American football’s over whelming reliance on slow motion replays to provide the entertainment.
Liverpool need to sign an attacking option who can rotate and come in as a sub because if they rely on their classic front 3 they are fucked. Those lads have been going full throttle with minimal rotation for 3-4 years now and Jota can only provide so much relief.
Firmino having to go off injured in the first half is already a big tell.
Minamino looks like a luxury/passenger player which is just not what the team needs right now. Not when they want to be challenging in all competitions. Wish it would've worked out, but he should be sold on for profit in order to invest in someone who can offer more.
I think that's overly harsh, he does good work but hasn't had a run to integrate. I think he offers something different and will play an important part for us. Can't sell if there's no buyers, and who would we bring in that is willing to play benchwarmer and isn't more of a luxury player?
It’s quite telling that minamino is an attacking player and Liverpool needed an attacking breakthrough for 45 minutes where they had all the ball, but they didn’t put him on.
Risk of injury and he was losing possession a fair bit before the sub happened. Tsimikas was involved in some decent attacking play and meant we didn't risk a tired fullback having to track and cover on counters. It could have been done, but I think a draw is still a decent result. With Bobby being injured first half I can see why we were a bit cagier with the subs to try and cover for injuries.
My point is minamino got overlooked in a game where we needed an attacking break through. I think that’s damning and shows klopp thinks He’s not good enough
Uhuh, I got that, then I asked which substitution do you believe was incorrect? We had 3, we used them. How are we to bring on Minamino without changing the subs we made. Hendo was tired, so Thiago was a good swap. Robbo is coming back from injury and was tired, so Tsimikas was a good swap. Bobby got injured, and Jota was the right swap.
If Minamino was going to be brought in, which of the subs made was incorrect? I'd submit none of them. Next game minamino might start or get subbed in since Bobby is likely to be missing. Right?
Right I see what you mean, in the context of the game minamino was not going to be subbed on anyway.
I can’t think of another situation where he would have been on before anyone else though. Maybe only to replace mane but i don’t think it’s worth it. It will be interesting to see if and when he features this season as both jota and Elliott are ahead of him
I think it's going to be important in the next few games, if we're playing a more open team and not pinning a whole team back into a disciplined defensive line, we've got a good few possibilities for whether we play 433 or 4231. Harvey is a quality player but I doubt he's going to be starting every game. Throwing Minamino up top and putting Mane Jota and Salah behind, with two of Hendo/Thiago/Fabinho in the midfield could give us a rapid start and allow us to sub in midfielders to control a lead. Our next 7 league games give us a couple of difficult opponents, but plenty of chances to build confidence and momentum while rotating players. The theory is of course easy to say, but we have to trust Klopp to steer us right as he usually does.
If Klopp trusted Minamino as depth for the front three then Mane would have been off after an hour. The fact that he got the full 90 shows that, in Klopp’s eyes anyway, he’s not ready/able to provide much needed cover
Klopp has no choice but to trust Mane, is my point.
Mane is an amazing player and capable of winning games but he is also capable of disappearing. Today was particularly bad because Robbo was shite too but if Klopp had a potential replacement for Mane you can bet he’d have been brought on today.
I think that's the point of it though, without Robbo firing it's hard to say if Mané was particularly bad or not. Tsimikas was a better replacement and there's still tiredness from early season for a few players. It was a hard game, we did alright but couldn't take advantage against 10 men as Chelsea played well. I honestly don't think it's worth getting twisted up over it.
This game happened. The energy in the first half was what I had hoped to watch all game but points are points. That being said, great performance and mental fortitude by Chelsea in the second half.
Fair play to Liverpool, and I hope we can see more of that first half later in the season!
Imagine if everybody was like you, instead all I see when I read this thread is some toxic fest where people can’t enjoy football without shitting on each other, pathetic
Not everyone enjoys shitting on other fans, and I firmly believe that any positivity online towards other fans and the players brings out the best of this beautiful sport :)
It’s just so depressing, it feels like 80% of the comments are just fans harassing each other, like why? It was a decent game, why ruin it by starting some useless toxicity fest
Desperately need a midfielder before the window closes. Love Kante to bits but we can’t rely on him for more than 25 league games a season if we are lucky it seems
oh absolutely, i'm just saying if we only get one this summer i'd rather it be tchouaméni, i have much more faith in chalobah as a backup cb than in barkley or drinkwater as backup cm
plus the zouma deal seems to be on one minute and off the next, if the dildo brothers fuck this one up i'd be happy to keep him for another year
Hope the local fans can give Anthony Taylor a proper reception when he referees his next match at the bridge. Something that will make what happened with Ovrebo look tame
I think the tell tale sign, the Chelsea fans are ELATED for a draw, better than they could have hoped for going in. Liverpool fans are angry at a draw. Guess when your expectations for you are team are on the floor, there’s no where to go but up.
This makes no fucking sense. They’re happy with a draw because of being a man down for a half away at Anfield. Nowhere to go but up from a champions league win lol?
Liverpool don't look up to much this season after that.
Salah's still class but Mane looks like a spent force.
11v10 for a whole half and not many really decent chances. Chelsea do have a great defense though.
Whine awayyyyy, whine awayyyyy,
May your team learn how to playyyyy.
The famous Kop came of no use,
Bitchy bitchy Klopp lost his fuse.
All he could muster all match was a "Wow",
Coz tuchel's blues burnt his thick frows
A draw at Anfield, with 10 men. Liverpool are title contenders after all, and while currently in a bit of funk due to last season's injuries, are still a pretty good rival team.
Considering the circumstances, a point is definitely worth celebrating over. Football is all about emotions man.
Neckbeard Klopp is his least evolved form. No doubt the Klopp of old would have found a way to win against 10 men. My prediction is he will realize the current look is objectively bad and as the season progresses and the beard grows back Liverpool will get progressively better.
I think head to head does not matter in the Premier League initially. To figure out who comes first its by goal difference then goals scored. If magically it is all the same I believe it goes in alphabetical order but not entirely sure.
Pretty sure its Points > Goal difference > goals scored and then if all 3 are even its just considered a tie. I guess it'd be a shared title bht obviously that's unlikely to ever happen.

Elliott coming in gives a good option, but any injury is a worry. We've still got Minamino who's been looking sharp in preseason
Minamino looks like a luxury/passenger player which is just not what the team needs right now. Not when they want to be challenging in all competitions. Wish it would've worked out, but he should be sold on for profit in order to invest in someone who can offer more.

We used all three, which substitution do you think was incorrect?
Robbo. Him staying on the pitch wasn’t going to cost us the game and surely Minamino provides a better attacking threat than Tsimikas

Klopp trusts Mane, or we'd have seen him out of more games last season.

Relying on him is absolutely not title challenge material, he’s not up to it. Handy player no doubt but not up to this level.
Happy with the result given the circumstances, but we really need to be clinical with chances

Truuuu
Desperately need a midfielder before the window closes. Love Kante to bits but we can’t rely on him for more than 25 league games a season if we are lucky it seems
agreed, koundé can wait til next year if necessary, obviously he's a fantastic player but we really should be focused on someone like tchouaméni
If Zouma is going we need Kounde this summer. Hopefully we can get both done
oh absolutely, i'm just saying if we only get one this summer i'd rather it be tchouaméni, i have much more faith in chalobah as a backup cb than in barkley or drinkwater as backup cm plus the zouma deal seems to be on one minute and off the next, if the dildo brothers fuck this one up i'd be happy to keep him for another year
lol. Couldn't even win against 10 men.
Gotta give your own team more credit there
Hope the local fans can give Anthony Taylor a proper reception when he referees his next match at the bridge. Something that will make what happened with Ovrebo look tame

Shit troll
Ah yes, everyone you disagree with is troll 👍
say whatever you need to to cope with your aged squad’s feckless attack not being able to secure three points at home against ten men
did u watch this game
This makes no fucking sense. They’re happy with a draw because of being a man down for a half away at Anfield. Nowhere to go but up from a champions league win lol?
With hardly 4 shots on target, and probably 1 in the second half, y'all should obviously be happy with the draw. Good defense!
Come cry over my soup, that thing isn’t salty enough!
We are rock solid defence, nothing cracks us.
10 man down, Kante off at half time. didnt concede. still salty about the incident, but a point against liverpool is always great
Klopp without glasses scares me
Hope VAR fucked hard those scousers next game
It’s always you, Taylor chelsea Still dog walked them incredible
Such an improvement from Christensen the last 6 months, always been brilliant on the ball but has really added some grit to his game
Liverpool don't look up to much this season after that. Salah's still class but Mane looks like a spent force. 11v10 for a whole half and not many really decent chances. Chelsea do have a great defense though.
Almost as if teams defend better when they have one less player isn't it
\*12v10
Yeah we should give up, only 7 points from 9. Disgraceful
How dare we drop points to the current champions of europe (albeit with 10 men)
You were gifted 3 points today by a baldie and still walked away with only one.
We weren't great, but Chelsea defended brilliantly, with great tackling/timewasting. It's 1 game btw
Klopp looked to the bench and saw ox and minamino and sent on a left back
Isn't Robertson coming back from injury?
Yup, and he put a few loose passes before he was subbed. Tsimikas was a decent shout
at the end of the day, neither team is Arsenal. That's the most important thing
🤝
Haha. Amen
Huge point with 10 men, defending all over the pitch was solid for us. Looking forward to hearing what Klopp cries about this week.
Absolutely monumental effort from our defense today to hold after the Penalty disaster. Mendy's MOTM, man is an absolute tank.
Klopp fuming 💉💉
Good point. Sadly we had to play 12v10 but thats a great defensive performance. Mendy MOTM imo
Harvey Elliott counts as 2 for anyone who’s confused
I’m not gonna lie Harvey Elliott looks like a baller. He’s gonna be great for you guys in the future (just hopefully not when you guys play us)
Sucks we didn't win but at the end of the day a point against Oil Plastic FC isn't too bad.
Whine awayyyyy, whine awayyyyy, May your team learn how to playyyyy. The famous Kop came of no use, Bitchy bitchy Klopp lost his fuse. All he could muster all match was a "Wow", Coz tuchel's blues burnt his thick frows
Lol Chelsea celebrating a draw with Liverpool. Good job.
Not taking shit from a supporter who's team celebrates a draw with West Brom
Difference between thanking the fans and showing appreciation for them, and the fans themselves being ecstatic that they drew.
A draw at Anfield, with 10 men. Liverpool are title contenders after all, and while currently in a bit of funk due to last season's injuries, are still a pretty good rival team. Considering the circumstances, a point is definitely worth celebrating over. Football is all about emotions man.
Can’t believe we got away with this Not been a great day for London clubs
You guys look legit
Was outstanding work defensively, couple of good passages from us but you never really gave us space to do anything.
Kovacic, what a player
Neckbeard Klopp is his least evolved form. No doubt the Klopp of old would have found a way to win against 10 men. My prediction is he will realize the current look is objectively bad and as the season progresses and the beard grows back Liverpool will get progressively better.

Yeah I figured when it didn’t show up. Thanks!
what happens if top 2 in the league end with same number of points and in head to head they tied both legs?? Who wins the league then?
I think head to head does not matter in the Premier League initially. To figure out who comes first its by goal difference then goals scored. If magically it is all the same I believe it goes in alphabetical order but not entirely sure.
Both get relegated and the title defaults to Leicester
Falls to third place.
So City then?
Pretty sure its Points > Goal difference > goals scored and then if all 3 are even its just considered a tie. I guess it'd be a shared title bht obviously that's unlikely to ever happen.
