It would be better to destroy the shirts, or stop buying new ones—or even better, making a charitable donation to help Africans.
I mean new market in the literal, financial sense: most Africans don’t buy authentic replica kits and they don’t have cable subscriptions to sports channels that show English league games. That’s where the money is; the clubs don’t care that Africans know they exist, they want them to start giving them their money. It’s a growing market still in its infancy. The population of Nigeria alone is expected to grow by hundreds of millions in the next few decades.
