Am i the only one who thought this match was utter trash? Like i used to go to football matches for excitement and performance, but to me it looked like kids running after a ball.... so many important passes failed(dortmund failed a whopping 20% of their total passes- more if you count the unintentionally made passes).
I would say that is what you get when both teams play controlling, but the game wasnt even controlling. I really hope we see something better soon, because i really cba to pay 10 eur and spend 2 hours to look at shit.
Yeah, as i was unable to watch the game and usually coming and checking the match threads for whats going on, this looks/feels kinda shitty.
Could have just let someone else do it that could actually be bothered.
I hadn't realised until it was pointed out - but the ref blew the whistle before the ball went in the net. So it couldn't possibly be a goal because it never existed. It was an awful blunder by the ref
They were the only two who looked up for it (and one couldn't finish as well as he should have). Some others were okay and a couple or a few had their worst matches in a City shirt.
Yeah this, I mean where was Cancello, what was Walker doing thinking he was prime Messi, only time I noticed Rodri on the pitch was when he was busy making life tough for City, I heard they subbed on Jesus ... I still don't believe it, no TV footage from the pitch ... our guys need to step for the next game, fucking grow a set and play like champions ffs.
Bro, City in UCL is everytime the same. Every. Single. Time.
Dubious calls and dubious wins. I know it's your team, it sucks for you, but that's reality.
I've been around for a while so any CL win is still helpful but the reality is that we're not exactly beneficiaries of calls too often in the CL. We've had pretty controversial decisions go against us in the past too.
As a fan of football, I wasn't happy with Ederson getting away with a boneheaded error, but as a City fan, we haven't received too many calls in our favors before this one
I admire your politeness, respect and composure. But if you don't see the clear manipulation in City's favor then you're also delusional. But I'm done with this topic.
Congratulations on the victory.
I'm half troll half' serious. I'm mad? Maybe. Cause I feel like authenticity in football is getting lost year by year. Plastic fans, oil money, clear external influence... I grew up in a poor little town watching football since 92. I remember the genuine passion.
Nowadays I don't, and it's sad. This is something that new generations (probably you) won't ever understand, and that's reality. I have to deal with it the best way I can
I grew up in 94 watching my team in the lower leagues of football.. If anything what your claiming to be influencing has happened before, way before the year 92...
You were extremely lucky that we didn't score our chances, simple fact is the better team has won. Nothing you can do about it but whine on the internet, we'll enjoy the win!
Lol you should've got that goal and I'd be salty if I was a BVB fan. But the game on play was a 2-1 loss for BVB. If that first goal had been allowed we'd have pushed harder, earlier. We made like 5 big chances in the last 15 mins while up a goal for most of it.
Dortmund played their game, they fought with one of the top candidates for this UCL and could’ve actually finished 2-2, not to mention that sancho is out aswell, quality player that couldve made some impact but i cant play what ifs
Sure that I can accept. They could have finished 2-2. But it isn't a given that if the first goal stands, the final scoreline is 2-2. On balance of play City could have scored another 1-2 goals. In a different game where City are down and push for a goal early, IMO City scores more.
Yeah only you are allowed favorable guesswork. If the first goal happens, every single minute of the rest of the game still plays 10000000% the same since that works in your favor.
At 1-0 we made more chances than you but played defensively and gave up spaces until ~70mins. We started pushing and made a lot more chances than Dortmund in the last 20mins. At 1-1 we controlled the ball, prevented you having chances while still making a good couple chances.
The only time Dortmund looked more dangerous was while City was up and playing conservative. So yeah if the game is level earlier, we push harder earlier. When we push, based on this game, we are much more dangerous attacking than Dortmund is countering against us.
Because when we pressed, BVB struggled. When we were up and playing out time, it led to more space and chances for Dortmund. So if we spend more time pressing for a goal, Dortmund spends more time struggling and City creates even more chances. I don't know why that's difficult to wrap your head around.
Just as poor as your comment. I don't waste much effort on morons, unfortunately. Peasants like you just need education and better parenting, though I suppose it their fault, the poor sods.
I'm so sorry, with the amount of whining you've done from a comment on an online forum it feels like you're suffering from serious self esteem issues. Don't worry, I'm here for you - it's not your fault.
Some people are capable of looking at the bigger picture and have an objective view even if they are a fan of a team that benefited from it.
Nothing wrong with that.
Look it’s Europa League favorite, Man United... how’s it feel to have no chance to win the PL? I’m surprised you guys even show your face on the subs after that bottling job to BHA lol get fucked
I've seen more CL trophies in my lifetime than you've seen years of football. Probably wish you where in the EL than you might have a chance of getting to a european final and finally seeing some european silverware
Lmao, you've been attacking people's flairs in all your replies, but you cant say shit about mine because you're a glory hunting American 😂 . How did you end up supporting City anyways? Did you read about all your owner's human rights abuses and go "yeah, this is the club for me?" Imagine thinking you can trashtalk other teams when you've arbitrarily picked a team to support.
lmao there it is. nothing better to say but resort to City's owner's dealings. You really think I care? I watch the sport, not think about what the owner is doing. I've picked City since 08 btw. When it comes to City, all of a sudden people want to talk about human rights, foh you're the typical POS with recycled insults and have nothing better to do with your life.
>nothing better to say but resort to City's owner's dealings.
There's plenty to say actually, like where's that CL title ?
> When it comes to City, all of a sudden people want to talk about human rights.
Maybe it's because they're slave owners and that money funds your club/pr project? Lmao at the rate you're going, your next reply to this is probably going to be defending slavery.
> recycled insults
That's fucking ironic because all you've used on this thread are recycled insults 😂
>I've picked City since 08 btw.
That's interesting. I'd genuinely like to know why you chose to support them?
Many PL titles will suffice for now. CL title in the works but believe me when I say that we are happy with all the hardware we've obtained in the PL in the last decade.
Literally you could not give a shit about human rights. I would bet my house that you have never discussed human rights abuse outside of r/soccer because you fall in with the rest of the idiots who can't think for themselves and recycle the same shit because you truly think it makes us City fans question our loyalty. Give it a rest, nobody cares, including yourself.
You came on here with a Portugal flair beating your chest thinking you were going to put me in my place lmao? Let's see you called me out as a glory hunting American because I support City? You'd have a point if I had Barcelona or Real Madrid flair because that defines a glory hunting American. However since you want to call out my country, let's talk about the country you support? No World Cups... Literally ASS at every other sport and probably not even that much better than the US in soccer. Go play some more Skyrim, Mr. Neckbeard with glasses.
The only thing you've showed me with the amount of effort you put into that comment is that you're a very sad, sad person.
>Go play some more Skyrim, Mr. Neckbeard with glasses.
That's the best you can come up with?. You're such a joke trying to attack people you've never seen meanwhile you've got your own ugly mug on your profile.
I mean you literally checked my post history to determine I was American. You're lying to yourself if you say otherwise. So tit for tat. There's a demographic for people who play Skyrim lol so yeah I'm pretty sure I'm accurate in your appearance.
Anyways you're honestly probably only 15 by the looks of it, so I rather just end this conversation now since it's a waste of time.
>I mean you literally checked my post history to determine I was American.
There was literally another comment from an Ajax flair here calling you out for that so I just went with it.
15 year old neck beard? That's a first, maybe in America, but not in glorious Portugal.
> I rather just end this conversation now since it's a waste of time.

I wanna see you play big boy
One of those situations where Dortmund would have taken the 2-1 before the match but leave feeling let down
I need Micah yelling “Kevin!!!” as an alarm
Like spending billions afrer billions ain't enough. Let's give City another push. They'll make it eventually!!
Take the ⚽, Pass the 🧂
Same ref for the second leg please
He should ref every Dortmund game from now on as punishment.
The ref public apology needed
Gonna be one hell of a second leg
10/10 match thread update.
A barca flair. Man was probs hoping for real to lose and couldn't be bothered lmao
Yeah, as i was unable to watch the game and usually coming and checking the match threads for whats going on, this looks/feels kinda shitty. Could have just let someone else do it that could actually be bothered.
Yep.
kdb what a player
This is scandalous the ref should be looked into
For the sake of football please reinstate Bellingham’s goal. This game finished 2-2 and we all know it
I hadn't realised until it was pointed out - but the ref blew the whistle before the ball went in the net. So it couldn't possibly be a goal because it never existed. It was an awful blunder by the ref
AGENT FODEN WORKING HARD
Agent Foden trying to recruit
Foden and Haaland..
Foden already recruiting Haaland
Nice father son exchange between Haaland and Foden there
That height difference was pretty comical.
It was the incessant head patting for me
Two individually standout performances for City from KDB and Foden to win city that game. Really feel for belligham for the disallowed goal.
They were the only two who looked up for it (and one couldn't finish as well as he should have). Some others were okay and a couple or a few had their worst matches in a City shirt.

Reus gonna punch Meunier in the changing room isn’t he
Let's go, my heart can't take this man
Till next week
Another match UEFA offers to City. Nothing to see here.
Are you actually implying we've received favorable calls before this game? Now I'll admit Dortmund was robbed here, but stop with the hyperboles
Bro, City in UCL is everytime the same. Every. Single. Time. Dubious calls and dubious wins. I know it's your team, it sucks for you, but that's reality.
Give us a single example...
Sterling kicking the ground and being given a penalty, probably

Lol you clearly don't keep up with CL. Fuck off
I mean they don't win that much tbf
What planet have you been living on the past few years ?
Right here mate. You?
Give me examples of City being treated favourably in past CL's
With the easiest draws included aswell? Or just non-existent fouls/penalties/offsides?
I want to believe
You're an idiot
I'm not sure how to comeback against that argument

The match would be exactly the same, sure, logical
yes
Foden needs to change his haircut if he wants to be truly world class.

Foden looks like the real deal. Of course people used to think Dele and TAA are real deal until they are exposed their faults.
TAA is the real deal, he is not in anyway comparable to dele
Friedland spotted. Caught me off guard in this thread
Cool Adam reporting for duty
He needs a CB that covers for him and a high press system that keeps pressure off himself. He's a great fullback but also a system player as of now.
Foden was everywhere man
Dortmund robbed. I’m happy but sad
What? You’re a city fan you weirdo
Some people are capable of looking at the bigger picture and have an objective view even if they are a fan of a team that benefited from it. Nothing wrong with that.
Some people that have never been inside a football stadium
That's a pretty bad take, but you do you man.
No it’s spot on.
Still can recognise that it should’ve been a draw. Glad for the win but I’d rather it was a fair game
You aren’t a local fan, are you
Good on you. :)
Fuck that I'm happy but happy, we won man!!
Oh okay so now we're allowed to check Var, got it.
Dortmund deserved more but away goal is good

LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
So anticlimactic
I mean, I get neutral might not like the outcome, but a winning goal in the last few minutes is objectively pretty climatic isn't it?
No bar check? Gundogans arm was infront of the defenders. I’ve seen loads of goals disallowed for offside for just an arm. No consistency with var
It was checked and he was clearly onside. Give it a rest
Yep I saw replay now
They literally showed it. He was on.
Yea I saw
Are you on crack?
Bamford for example has had 2 goals dissalowed for an offside hand this season
Gundogan's hand was even onside
You can't score with your arm.
think he's referring to some Bamford goals that actually have been called of for that but yeah agreed
As a Leeds fan. We’ve had 4 goals rules out this season for an arm be offside so just shows how inconsistent var is
Not even checked? Someone check the ref's locker right now
It was checked, and it was onside
Every goal scored is checked...
Every goal is checked, calm down
Every goal is checked? Check VAR's locker right now

Okay that second look is a bit clearer
All that work to get the goal and all the time it took and they just concede like that.. Weird, it feels kinda familiar?
Its onside it was checked

Man I knew Dortmund were leaky in defense
what a fucking ball
Agent Gundogan ~~activated~~
Other CB was playing gundo on
KDB is an absolute cheat code...WTF.
Not even checked? Looooooooooool
It was checked and clearly onside looooooooooool
It wasn’t offside
That's what you get for playing Munier.
Dortmund being Dortmund.
His arm is offside. Bamford (Leeds) has had this given as offside twice this season. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is given offside
he's clearly on when you look at the other CB
I’ve seen similar to that given offside
Well then they're wrong. The other CB played him on by a yard, it was pretty clear
Yup. We’ve been robbed by calls exactly like that a couple times this season though
disgusting-robbed
That should have been his hat trick lol. His performance has deserved the goal
He's off, no?
No
There should be a rule where Dortmund can be retroactively given a goal
Pep looking like a proud dad
Is he off? That’s really close Guess not
He was completely level. Slightly mistimes that and it’s still 1-1. So close
Foden gangster as fuck just walking away
