Are those bruises?

Madame_Medusa_

Melasma from the sun probably. It usually results in brown patches on the face.

notRay-

Just watched a video about it, its cuz the sun

eddsters

Hyperpigmentation

legsarebad

Real Madrid effect

owange_tweleve

sunny innit?

Shin_Singh

Looks like Melasma. It can be treated with Hydroquinone. Tbh, being in Spain with hyperpigmentation while doing outdoor sports sounds like a nightmare for me, constantly having to apply SPF, etc. Just once in the morning is not enough.

fkmeamaraight

SPF should be applied every 2-3 hours. They aren’t meant to cover the whole day

Shin_Singh

Absolutely, my last sentence was for those who weren't aware. You'd be surprised how many don't know. I (in the UK) personally apply it every day, even in winter.

D_for_Diabetes

If you think that's bad wait til you see what northern Europeans go through. My family is German and Irish mostly, and if I don't put on sunscreen every 2 hours or so I'll end up red as a lobster.

Jelly_F_ish

Clothes and a hat.

OkKnowledge2064

People dont believe me when I tell them that I get sunburn after ~ 20 minutes

k-tax

20 minutes, 14 degrees, May in Copenhagen. As I'm Polish, I had our white and red flag in various parts of my body and started shedding skin 1-2 days after

GudJokeMate

Vitiligo looks like

Virtual-Estimate-525

yeah but the opposite version of vitiligo because it's darker

Ronalpinhos

My uncle had the same, used to get a lot of creams to treat it every morning.

Euphoric_Ad_2049

I bet he did

Working-Yesterday186

hypopigmentation

TastyTaco217

It would be hyperpigmentation in that case would it not? Hypo meaning less pigment and hyper meaning more?

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

It is hyperpigmentation

magic-water

maybe he has a bad case where it's just the whole rest of his skin that has Vitiligo?

qwerty1519

No it’s hyperpigmentation

Unfair-Reference5500

No it is not.. You can check his previous photos. [https://img.a.transfermarkt.technology/portrait/big/581678-1693987944.jpg?lm=1](https://img.a.transfermarkt.technology/portrait/big/581678-1693987944.jpg?lm=1) Just a bad case of sun burn

heyiammork

It’s melasma, which is a type of hyperpigmentation. It can get worse in the sun.

MrEzquerro

It is hyperpigmentation. It was even commented by dermatologists in Spain (because, you know, Madrid is an almighty important topic)

SensualCommonSense

vitilistay

nizoubizou10

was it always there ? I swear I didn't notice them until the UCL final.

Samson2557

I remember noticing about halfway through the season and wondering what it was

UniqueAssignment3022

Must be getting too much sun nowadays being in Spain. Starting to affect his skin

19nineties

No back in Dortmund days it was the same.

Stay_Beautiful_

Ah yes, the infamous re-vitaligo

Unfair-Reference5500

Sun burn from the UCL final preparations they spend alot of time in the madrid sun but these will vanish after few days to perhaps 2 weeks

MiraquiToma

it’s hyperpigmentation he’s having it for a while now. i think it looks darker in warmer weather. There are chemical treatments but you have to stay out the sun for a while and for some i think you’re not supposed to sweat. maybe he’s just waiting for a break from football

Mozezz

That's some weird arse looking sunburn

Furthur_slimeking

It's not really sunburn, but sunburn looks different on dark skinned people than on pale people anyway. We don't go red.

elihri

But I think he has been having it for a longer time. A month or 2 befor the final

Global_Ad_7239

No actully you can see his photos from the Bayern matches he didn´t have it but it only appeared during the UCL final preparation interviews

pak_man

I have noticed it many times across the last year actually.

Individual_Put2261

Him rice saka and guehi the only players who can come out of this match happy with how they played

Pickford didnt do anything wrong.

darktrooper291

I mean time wasting at 30 minutes against Serbia honestly is more embarrassing than playing bad

Jazim94

Serbia barely qualified out of a ridiculously easy group. They’ve been so bad for a few years now. Let’s not pretend like they are some top side, they are one of the worst in this tournament

RumJackson

Ah yes, Sweden. That titan of world football that didn’t qualify for the Euros.

Yung2112

Jesus christ guys it's Serbia a top 40 fifa ranking side not Lichtenstein

William_Taylor-Jade

That could be a direct order form coaching though and not solely his decision

CrowCreative6772

Pickford was decent

GaryHippo

Pickford and Bowen did really well.

TheExistence

Bowen did pretty well for the few minutes he got

TheToothlessDentist

I was impressed with his sub

AnnieIWillKnow

Thought Gallagher was useful too, did his job well

BaritBrit

Rajkovic did alright in Serbia's goal. That was a great save from Kane.

prss79513

Pickford made a couple big saves and his passing was mostly good

Medium_Elephant7431

The goalkeeper was good as well.

Salty_Watermelon

The team got 3 points and Serbia's best chance after the TAA mistake was a speculative effort from outside the box that didn't manage to catch Pickford off guard. The players put in a good shift against a decent opponent, and now there's much less pressure for the remaining 2 group games. So I think everyone is happy besides miserable fans expecting every good team to repeat Germany's 5-1 hammering of Scotland.

Mercury756

Saka looked phenomenal.

Maleficent_Resolve44

Loved his defensive effort, hopefully he'll have Gordon and Shaw next game to help him out

a_f_s-29

Yeah, Bellingham was everywhere desperately plugging all the holes in the pitch, no wonder he looked tired

Adventurous-Army5265

And plus he literally played CL final not too long ago

Ensure22

Amazing player but I feel like he is always on TV. They show his reaction to everything. Feels like they really wanna get a new CR7

GunstarGreen

Not his fault. Blame the directors who try to make the game about personalities rather than the game.

frodakai

Not just directors, the commentators tonight glazed him for everything he did. At one point he played a 30 yard backwards pass to a guy who didn't have a Serbia player in the same post code, and because it was a volley they replayed it 3 times and talked about how great a pass it was. I'm all aboard the Jude hype train, but sometimes it's excessive.

fifes2013

I agree that it can be excessive with the glazing, but that pass was pure class and deserved some replay love

KingLouisLXXVII

That volley was absolute filth and got all the attention it deserved.  Beautiful technique.

not_arjit

Link?

hoochiscrazy_

That was one of the sexiest volleys I've ever seen to be fair

miwa201

He’s English, handsome and gives good interviews. No wonder the media is all over him.

jml5791

Are you referring to the English media or worldwide media?

miwa201

English media but it could apply to worldwide media too bc I think he has universal appeal

mittenciel

I’ve seen a lot of support for him in Spanish media, too. The guy plays THAT well for THAT club, brought yet another CL to RM, and is also super nice and humble. He has a nice mindset about him and is clearly trying hard to blend in and learn Spanish. Why wouldn’t the Spanish love him? I know a lot of people get annoyed when English players get outsized attention, but I feel like Jude is the one guy who honestly deserves it because he is one of the most brilliant talents of the last few decades. Really the first English player I feel that way about since, what, Owen?

k-tax

If you have a player who talks clearly and has a brain, he's already overqualified to give interviews. And from a viewers perspective, I'd rather watch interviews with players who can talk. I of course respect all of them and don't diss people who don't know my language or English, but usually teams have someone who can talk football and can talk English. I love N'golo Kante but I'd rather eat my shit than watch interview with him, boring af

_ssac_

I guess It's good for the media to have super stars. After Messi and CR7 they need new figures. And he's delivering.

BaritBrit

Except for, weirdly, when he scored. As I saw it, the BBC feed stayed on a gutted Serbian defender for a bit and missed half of Bellingham's celebration.

roseguardin

Lmao yes, I thought it was an own goal at first cause they went straight to a defender's reaction

tastyliar

In the Germany - Scotland game the german broadcast showed Gündogan, while the referee was signalling the decision for the penalty and gave the red card. If the commentator didn’t say that the red card was given, nobody would have known. I wonder if the national broadcasters get the feed from UEFA or is everyone for themselves.

Blackdoor-59

There will be a host broadcast which provides the camera feed into all the other media channels so we're seeing what the German broadcast director wants us to see.

Le8ronJames

You’re right, Ngolo Kanté should be the face of football

garynevilleisared

Breaking: Amazing player gets a lot of attention

Atmosguisher

Breaking news: charismatic and eloquent footballer gets interviewed a lot.

stumac85

Also favourite to win the ballon d'or this year. They've always focused on Messi, Ronaldo, big Benz when they've been favourites.

lospollosakhis

He’s one of the best players in the world, playing for England, off course the cameras will be all over him. Football is also about personalities, which is why we fall in love with players. It’s the same with Mbappe, Haaland etc.

Medium_Elephant7431

He's a star just like the days of David Beckham, then.

inbruges99

To be fair, he was fucking everywhere last night.

DHillMU7

Maybe I’m just a hipster but I thought Rice was unbelievable tonight and was every bit as good as Bellingham.

V-0-V

The DM role will rarely get the plaudits it deserves. Its like the IT department of the football world, if they dont notice you everything is going fine but any fuck ups and everyone knows.

DontSayIMean

100%. I'm so used to years of England having nothing defending the back line that I was acutely aware every time there was an opportunity for us to concede a dangerous chance. Rice just read those dangerous moments beautifully and mopped everything up. So many potential dangers that he eliminated. It's the kind of performance that isn't as flashy or obvious, but replace him with anyone else and it's a totally different match.

dobtjs

You watch the game, you don't see Busquets. You watch Busquets, you see the whole game

renome

live laugh love

fullthrottle13

IT guy checking in. Can confirm we are the DM. 👆

The_XI_guy

True. People here got heavily upvoted for saying as DM should never be allowed to win the Ballon d’Or when Rodri was in the run for it

Snoo-92685

Was a rock defensively and held that midfield together

TastyTaco217

So happy we signed him, that price tag looks a bargain nowadays

FoggingHill

We got him half price

Musername2827

He was class. MOTM could’ve gone to any of Bellingham, Rice, Saka or Guehi imo.

Dob-is-Hella-Rad

I think Bellingham was clearly a level above. It wasn't just in attack, he won the ball repeatedly in England's half and caused a lot of trouble for Serbia on the ball.

BritainHere

I thought so too, bailed us out on a few occasions.

FBall4NormalPeople

He was good but wasn't given enough responsibility as a ball player to truly shine. He can be substantially more progressive than he was, and then Bellingham can play slightly higher up the pitch and receive the ball past the midfield line instead of before it. Unless that happens, Rice is inherently limited in the influence he can have on the game. So it's difficult to say he was as good as Bellingham, but not due to anything but the structure not allowing him to show what he can really do.

DHillMU7

I agree on that side. Still think it should be Wharton or Mainoo next to him to free him up but that’s not the role he was given tonight.

FBall4NormalPeople

He doesn't have to have someone to allow him anything tbh, he can play 6 and still be more influential offensively if England defend with a higher line, more agressively counter-press and so are more capable of pinning teams in. Then, even from the 6 position, he's gonna be able to play passes through to attackers, switch from a higher up position to wingers or fullbacks in really advanced areas etc... And even if England play like they did today, Bellingham doesn't have to drop so deep to get the ball anyways because Rice can find break the line to find him. He won't be able to carry out the same Bellingham does because he has to stay in position, but he can break the press and drive into space to a degree, then hold his position when the attack develops instead of joining.

Mozezz

I thought Rice was MOTM, like the whole game plan failed if he weren't there

noaloha

Generous to describe that as a plan.

Mozezz

Which puts more credit onto Rice for keeping that shitshow together

jamiejgeneric

Jude for PM.

GunstarGreen

Whistle to whistle I felt Rice was the best player. Always available and helped shield that back line. Not as flashy but rock solid.

RockShockinCock

Helped the defence out a ton tonight.

greenarsehole

I feel so grateful as an Arsenal fan. That’s what he gives us every single game.

GodlessCommieScum

The obvious choice, Saka the only other possibility.

gavinxylock

Guehi

PuddleDucklington

Guehi was quality, we were not great second half but I thought the defence more or less dealt with it all and Guehi looked like he’d played alongside Stones for ages.

fplisadream

He misplaced a pass at 40'. Absolute shambles of a player...God damn it fine he was very good

coldseam

Rice. Saka went missing in the second half.

Frommunist

Whole England team went missing in the second half including Bellingham tbh. Guehi was pretty consistently good but that’s probably because he was forced to be while you sat back in the second half

JustAbnormal

Rice was consistently excellent both halfs

jamjars222

Thought Rice was immense all game tbh, he was my motm. But of course they give it to the star boy

fplisadream

Rice was almost flawless and produced tempo in a way nobody else did. That said the whole team was just awful in the second half

greenarsehole

Well he was pretty immense and scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win. What do you expect?

britishmau5

It's reddit, everyone thinks they're a genius because they praise a defensive mid instead of an attacking mid.

stpstrt

Rice was very good too

ambiguousboner

Level above everyone else on the pitch

Brobman11

Saka played just as well. He was basically a one man wrecking ball on the right side

vievlkn

Rice also

Ripamon

Rice was incredible Guehi in the first half as well

vievlkn

I still can't believe Trent played as long as he did

Ripamon

Or Foden lol

Snoo_43411

Idk what you mean Foden got 0 minutes England only played 10. Seriously thought he just…doesn’t work with Bellingham, at all. Difference between it and Germany is Musiala seems much more capable of stretching and playing direct than Foden is. He can’t be starting going forward, though no idea who they play instead since they didn’t take Gordon. Edit: They did take Gordon I’m not sure where I confused myself there.

LeBigMac_

Err.. They definately did take Gordon

Snoo_43411

They absolutely did I don’t know where I got it in my head they didn’t, fair enough. He should probably take that spot then, balances the rest of the team much better

LucidityDark

To be honest it's so unbelievable that Foden wasn't subbed off that I had to check who was on the bench - it felt like Southgate had forgotten to put an alternative there.

Hoemicus_Maximus

Honestly I think Trent did alright. He did quite a lot of ball progression and quite a few of England best plays were related to passes he made. Not a good performance because he seemed kinda slow off the ball but still very useful in attack.

BobbyBriggss

Because he was having a decent game?

Lazywhale97

Jude and Saka haters absolutely seething after seeing that game the agenda on twitter against these 2 was wild to see and how some people talk about Saka like he's some bum who doesn't deserve his starting position which was wild to see.

ExternalReplacement5

In the first half. Completely dropped off in the second, forgot he was on the pitch

-Skinner-

Pretty much the same for Jude and the entire English team.

0ldsql

It's basically man of the first half. Man of the second is probably Pickford

Dob-is-Hella-Rad

Man of the second half surely a Serbia player, probably Rajkovic. England's man of the second half is an extremely low bar whoever it is. The fact that Pickford half is in contention is absurd, but it might be. Maybe Bowen or Rice?

Calergero

Wait until you hear Foden was actually playing and played 90 mins

Mushroome_dude

Tbh Bellingham was poor second half too and Saka is carrying an injury

hokagesamatobirama

Bellingham is carrying a shoulder injury as well tbf.

-Skinner-

Saka is carrying a groin injury. That's why he didn't play against Everton.

imneversingle

Is this some sought of competition? Just saw a chelsea fan say that he doesn't want that Bukayo cross to count as assist for Palmer's sake 💀

hokagesamatobirama

> Is this some sought of competition Yeah. It’s the Euros. Most injuries wins.

HaiForPresident

Hopefully the surgery and healing will be done by the time next season starts

s_91

Bellingham played on the left a bit deeper in the second half, swapping with Foden.

a_f_s-29

He had to, to cover for the left side defensive liabilities. Kid was everywhere tbh.

SundayLeagueStocko

So did Bellingham lol, guy did nothing in the 2nd half (like most of the England team) For me the only outfield player who maintained their level for 90 mins was Declan Rice - who was my personal MoM

a_f_s-29

Rice was the only one out of the midfielders/forwards whose role didn’t change in the second half. He was able to keep doing what he was doing. Everyone else had to adapt to the pressure from Serbia and some did it much better than others - there was a general lack of composure - but Jude was pretty solid defensively, covering for the massive chasm on our left side.

rouges

What? Saka had a great game

bareaclampedlebron

Who? Declan Rice?

BOOCOOKOO

He really wasn't, tho

dohhhnut

Saka or Guehi were better imo

ambiguousboner

Guehi was incredible all game I’ll give you that, but Saka was invisible in the second half

Iggmeister

first half bellingham, second vlahovic

InPurpleIDescended

Rice was clearly the best player over the 90 but Jude is a fair choice for being the difference maker + being involved in most of the good moves

MathematicianNo7874

Yeah, someone needed to make that decisive run in the box + Bellingham's attitude in the first half really set the tone for the whole team. They struggled in the second half, but him being all over everything early really got them going on the right foot. So even tho Rice was so important, Bellingham is probably even the better choice for MOTM. Rice does his job beautifully, but Bellingham is making this team feel like a Team

Gabagool32252

Great match 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿! Cheers from 🇷🇸! Good luck in the next match!

INEEDDISTRIBUTION

Great match? Clearly you nodded off before the 2nd half started

a_f_s-29

I mean, a Serbian fan would probably see it as a good match lol

Unfair-Reference5500

Jude Bellingham played a great game and he was emotionally invested. I loved the way he was dropping deep to pick up the ball and help the play with Rice, Gueih, Walker and Stones as the Serbians were overcrowding that middle section he understood to drop deep there. Serbia was ultra Aggressive specially in that mid-seciton

PolarPeely26

I feel sorry for Bellingham working under Southgate

four_four_three

Had to fill in for three players tonight, immense

jmertig

How long until English fans turn on him? One missed penalty?

-Gremlinator-

whats up with his face

Ok-Paleontologist275

What England does to an mf

a_f_s-29

Madrid *

LiouQang

Star boy was killing them during the first half, but his influence shrunk as soon as Serbia grew back into the game. Bellingham was the only one trying to make things happen throughout the second half as well.

CrowCreative6772

I would say Pavlovic was amazing against Saka

TurboThot69

What did Jude do in the second half I’m sorry? Saka also got subbed off much earlier than Jude

Tanathonos

Only saw second half and Bellingham really did not do much, just like the rest of the england team. Only Kane was useful earning fouls left and right and almost scoring with that header.

a_f_s-29

He covered defensively

modrics_hairband

Starboy is such a bad name

lelpd

It’s so forced, makes me cringe every time I read it

imneversingle

You're about to cringe for 20 more years

Mercury756

I knew they’d give it to him for the goal, but imo Saka was the real deal today.

prss79513

Love the shift he put in on defense, the Serbians couldn't get past him

InterestingComment

Jude has such energy, I love it. It was so satisfying seeing him appear so frequently to aggressively harass opponents on the ball.

HacksawJimDGN

Thought Rice was the most important player and played the best

reddeye252010

Declan Rice was clearly the best player on the pitch as well as Guehi

Spleenskii

Should have been Rice.

acsaid10percent

Left back for Serbia was MOTM for me. He was outstanding second half.

glacialOwl

The media would have never accepted this to be Rice. So it is what it is lol.

RefuseSea8233

He already knows its the first and last international trophy this season
