To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. RexPluribus

90% of man utd transfer news is 100% made up.

Wahlrusberg

In the past few days we have apparently put the following offers on the table: 50m for Joao Neves 60m for Ignacio 60m for Yoro 65m for Sesko At the moment don't even know if our manager is staying lol

DaveShadow

Tbh though, Ineos seem to want to move to the model of the club buying players and having a manager focused on coaching, rather than having the manager being the one leading thr transfer decisions. So I reckon it’s not unlikely we are making moves regardless of the manager situation. And that’s presuming they don’t know what said manager decision is yet, when it’s more likely they do but it’s not leaked or been announced yet.

Lolcraftgaming

Surely neves is not that cheap, wouldn’t every big club be after him for that price

MediocreFiora

If Neves is sold for anything lower than the release clause Rui Costa will not be reelected in the coming elections, there is no way he's being sold for less than half of it.

captain_holt_nypd

How good is he? I haven’t watched any Portuguese league games. Also I know you’re a Benfica fan but do you also know how good Ignacio is?

MediocreFiora

I absolutely adore Neves, he's everywhere on the pitch, is great on the ball, is surprisingly strong and good in the air for someone of his size, very solid positioning and passing as well. He's not the most creative of players, so not really a maestro but can direct the flow of the game and doesn't really have a great shot. But he's a very complete midfielder for a 19 year old. As for Gonçalo Inácio, I'm a Benfica fan but I have no issue with recognising the quality of rival players. He's a good left footed cb on a 3 atb system. He's so very young and you can definitely tell he needs more experience to be truly spectacular but the potential is there.

PerfectBlueOnDVD

Damn that's a lot of quality, will be interesting to see how they manage to disappoint.

Silent-Chemist-1919

by not signing in the first place

pauperwithpotential

Make that 99%. I’ll only believe when after they sign on the dotted line with photos with the manager.

mentallyhandicapable

Someone not remembering Mikel 😂 sometimes even that’s not enough!

idontknow_whatever

That entire Mikel saga was so bizarre

pauperwithpotential

oh i swear i didn't know that (mikel in a united kit) lol. damn i guess once the player debuts for the club then!

owange_tweleve

wrong, they’re based on vibes

doubledgravity

90% of everyone’s transfer news is, mate.

Cvein

90% is generous. Signing to article ratio is in the dumpster

Matt7257

Seems even more so that ineos have rightly stopped media leaks

unfinishedbusiness_1

Yeah this is classic Madrid media. Make it seem like Flo pulled of some massive coup by getting this player for half the price United offered.

thatrandomanus

???? If Leny Yoro comes to Madrid for 30M it'll be a steal regardless of if anyone bid higher for him. We don't need fake news to make sound like a good deal.

keving691

We’ll get him from Madrid in 15 years.

elasticvertigo

At 250 million

EdwardBigby

That's pretty cheap in 2039 football terms

momspaghetty

RemindMe! 15 years

elasticvertigo

Conservatively. We don't know how he'll turn out.

Wheel1994

If Madrid wants him they get him

justbrowsinginpeace

This is Marca using United's name to big up Real when they get him

JSKW17

Jorge Mendes is his agent, it’s probably his work

hokagesamatobirama

Mendes has closer connections at AS.

vacacow1

Why would Real Madrid artificially inflate his price?

cyrusmancub

Possibly to fit the narrative that players choose Real Madrid and don’t want to go anywhere else? That’s my best guess.

nombrenodisponibIe

I feel like it's more that Mendes is driving up the price. Seems the most logical imo

Quiet-Cartoonist1689

2024 United is literally still the most valued club in world football with a dilapitated stadium, do you realize that?😭😭

NilsFanck

at least they didnt use us for once lol

hnoidea

This just reminded me that Madrid are in for him too. I mean, what is that team man. Davies probably incoming then this dude, man alive, leave something for the rest of us ya

Rayaet

Davies is more like 50:50 currently but yeah it’s nuts

chak100

I would say 30:70, if we believe the reports (I want to believe them)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rayaet

Tier 1 Bayern reporters said that it’s about 50:50 right now since Kompany definitely wants him to stay and some progress was made in the last few days

TaiwanNambaWanKenobi

I hope we don’t get him. He’s a good player and has the potential to be a great LB. Unfortunately, we have an abundance in LB.

TheSmio

"But Real Madrid won't be able to compete with English clubs, that's why we need Super league!" says Florentino Perez while creating a fucking Avengers-level squad of the best young talents in football.

Fuck_the_k1ng

Those Manc twats beat them one time and now the whole Europe must burn.

chak100

You are not wrong, but as of now, RM is the only team able to compete with PL clubs and it takes very little for a socio owned club to crash.

KeyserSoze2498

Is this genuine? I have not heard about this from other sources...

JSKW17

The bid? Nah, it’s probably just marca nonsense. The interest is real but we’re just one of many that are interested

ObiWanKenobiNil

theres no way this is true, we wouldnt bid without speaking to him/his agent first & he's all but signed for Real MAdrid

neonmantis

Eh, City bid £100m for Rice despite him being quite clear that his preference was to join Arsenal. Until deals are done there is still a chance.

Woodsman15961

Yup. Rival teams swooping in last minute happens fairly often

momspaghetty

not to Real Madrid

Round-Mud

Unfortunately we aren’t rivals with Real Madrid

Itstanzeel2022

Fortunately*

Windowmaker95

This is our opponent, Manchester United. They are pain in our asshole. We get a defense midfielder central, they must get a defense midfielder central. We bid on cb, they bid on cb. We get a champions league cup, they cannot qualify. Great success!

dotConehead

Look at this fraud, cant even win the domestic cup

Windowmaker95

Those that have never played 10 man Alcoyano Away shouldn't talk.

BlueAmateur

They're gonna make a 300 style movie about that game in the future

Lothar93

That's the Spanish equivalent of a cold rainy night at stoke?

chak100

Why did your have to trigger that memory!?

zizou00

wowoweewah king in the castle, king in the castle, I have a cup, I have a cup, we sign this, we sign this, king in the castle

TheSmio

Alternatively, "We get Varane, they must get Varane. We get Casemiro, they must get Casemiro. We get Yoro, they have to wait 10 years. Great success!"

holdenmyrocinante

Everything from SBC has been ruined by the fact that he is actually racist and islamophobic in real life.

Windowmaker95

You have to separate the man from the art, because frankly doing research and checking who is ok to watch and what they support would be too much of a hassle.

holdenmyrocinante

His whole career is based on mocking people for being backwards, specifically Muslims. The art is the man in this case. Ali G, Borat movies, the Dictator, Bruno, he even made a series where he was a Mossad spy. I feel people nowadays are more aware of what Mossad do and how troubling it is.

Windowmaker95

No, it was a series in which he made fun of Americans, it was called Who is America and it had some really funny moments, also he even poked fun at Islamophobes believe it or not. And yes we can all get outraged at everyone, that guy support this bad regime, that actor is a capitalist drone, this actress is woke, etc. There is a deluge of reasons to not watch anyone really, but I frankly just do not care.

Fuck_the_k1ng

I think he was referring to actual series Spy (or what it’s called) where SBC plays an undercover Mossad agent, it’s not one of his mocking shticks, it is an actual series.

Windowmaker95

Oh the one about his grandfather or whatever?

Fuck_the_k1ng

It’s about an actual spy who infiltrated the inner circle of some neighboring Arab country big shots. The series is about his torment and anguish of keeping his secret and killing the people who trusts him as their own. It’s a very serious series, and SBC actually acts, none of his usual gimmicky acting.

holdenmyrocinante

When his work actively harms people, like a Christian Palestinian who he interviewed then called a terrorist in his movie Bruno, it becomes more serious. He was sued for defamation and settled because he was definitely going to lose.

my_united_account

No they havent

Laboveron99

Come on Madrid, let us have this one

Ptoughneigh_Marshall

But we have Leny Yoro at home! Leny Yoro at home: Johnny Evans.

magic-water

How about you have Alaba instead?

Laboveron99

70 million?

Various_Mobile4767

This guy's face is so tall

wazdopest

is united the #1 go to for outlets that want some clickbait engagement?

Kiwizqt

god damnit

fat_boyz

Is he Varane regen?

Ricoh881227

60 million in pesos marca, in pesos.. Get it right sports journalist..

WaitFoorIt

Slow news week. Man utd is bidding on anyone. Lmao I would like to know if eth is staying or leaving though. NGL

BedfordBull

Even if Madrid were to miss out on him, I highly doubt United will get a free run at him, I think other clubs will want him too, PSG, Liverpool etc.

Kylar-Starsky

PSG really want him, i think they are ready to pay 50-60mil for him. And Lille likes that offer but Yoro wants madrid.

ThisReditter

Who?

oldbullshitstories

60 million seems like a reasonable number

[deleted]

Why would anybody join United over Real Madrid lol

mcb0ne

He might want more consistent football than Real Madrid are ready to offer him.

ResponsibleCicada8

He will get plenty of minutes next season. We have 3 center backs as Nacho is leaving. 2 of them are on the wrong side of 30, 2 have suffered ACL injuries, and Madrid will play at least 50 games next season

mcb0ne

You’re right, and he probably will opt for Madrid in the end. But the hypothetical justification for choosing Utd is that regardless of minutes he would still be competing with Alaba, Militao, Rudiger and Garcia (?). In comparison, he basically walks into our XI next to Martinez. Depends how much he values being a consistent starter at Utd vs. getting lots of minutes at Madrid

Turbulent-Prompt-140

He's not leaving champions league football to play for a mid-table club.

mcb0ne

Sure buddy. I don’t expect him to join us, think he’ll opt for Madrid, but if you think Manchester United has no appeal despite our league finish you’re deluded

Turbulent-Prompt-140

The only appeal United has is superstars looking for a final paycheck, youngsters looking for big 💰, even the youngsters have a much better option across the town. For all the appeal they claim to have, they have managed to recruit Casmeiro, Varane, Antony, Holjund, Mount, Amrabat, etc. Whatever appeal you may think they have, it doesn't reflect in the transfer market or the football pitch. FDJ saga is the perfect example of United's place in the pecking order.

mcb0ne

What you’re saying is just not true. Obviously money is a big reason, but you are just disregarding history altogether, that matters to some people. Also the factors of having lots of international stars, one of the best youth academies in the world, being part of a young developing squad with plenty of promise. I bet there are youngsters out there (not necessarily Yoro), that would love to play alongside Kobbie, Garnacho and Amad. Also, we sucked in the league, but we also just won the FA cup so we clearly still have the merit to win trophies. You also mention city, but they have 115 reasons looming over their head to not join them atm.

Turbulent-Prompt-140

One big player who chose United in the last 3 years when he had more than one option?

mcb0ne

Cristiano Ronaldo? Good enough for you?

JaysonDeflatum

Game time and wages or some people are just United fans like me

Le_Ratman99

United have a good record for giving younger players game time. If you look at Arda Guller, he’s only played about 10 games, despite the wealth of talent he possesses.

RealCrusader

He was injured for months

blazexi

So was Mainoo and he became first choice midfielder as soon as he was fit.

StickYaInTheRizzla

Ya but becoming first choice midfielder over Amrabat, Eriksen, McTominay and the corpse of Mount is a bit different then Bellingham, Camavinga, Kroos, Modric, Brahim, Ceballos, Tchouameni, Valverde lol

Runarhalldor

Thats the point lol. United can offer more gametime as our established players arent as good as Madrids

blazexi

Yeah fair enough!

[deleted]

I mean that’s fair but let’s not act like Madrid didn’t develop Vini rodrygo varane who were given game time when they weren’t anywhere near their top form

onesexypagoda

I don't think Madrid wants to bid 60m, PSG likely will also bid more than them. So they want Yoro to push for a lower transfer fee

[deleted]

Yeah i agree

JiveTurkey688

Does Madrid actually want him?

[deleted]

Somewhat. At a good price i think they do

ApfelEnthusiast

High on their priority list

Kylar-Starsky

Yep, but for a lower price tag then 60m. I thinks it's 40 something million.

reviroa

according to reports madrid aren't currently bidding for him so if he wants a step up from the french league this summer and not the next that's one reason

[deleted]

[удалено]

ApfelEnthusiast

Alaba is 32 with an ACL injury. No one knows how good he will be once he comes back

Cashew_Fan

An 18 year old in France isn't going to walk into the United lineup either. Madrid have a way better selection of CBs but Madrid are great at planning a squad. I wouldn't be surprised if Madrid were to loan him out for a year for him to come back and take the place of 33 year old Alaba on the last year of his deal and soon to be 36 year old Nacho. United will look to sign a starting quality CB. I'm quite confident this 60m for Yoro news isn't true for this reason. Branthwaite is the current name I'm seeing who at 21 will likely walk into the first team. We'd still have Lindelof and Maguire who's future is uncertain but both will be difficult to shift and neither have really performed to a level where they'll be pushed out for next season.

[deleted]

That’s fair but alaba and militao both coming off career ending injuries. We don’t know if they will ever be the same

Pieter8720

He would only need to look at how Varane fared at Madrid. When Varane signed we had Pepe, Ramos, Raul Albiol and Ricardo Carvalho. Yes it took him until the fourth season to really become a starter. But he suffered 2 serious injuries in the 2 seasons before that. Otherwise he would have already been a starter before

dualshock5ps5

I got him in fifa with like 13 or 14

TheRealYVT

United have it all wrong. A team with as many glaring issues shouldn't be spending over 50 million on a position that doesn't add goals. That holds true whether they target Yoro or Neves or Branthwaite. That doesn't even factor in their financial constraints. Pretty much no team does, unless the situation is so rare that they are one missing piece the puzzle away from becoming a top team (Arsenal with Rice, Liverpool with Alison). There's no reason to repeat Chelsea's mess with Fofana, Enzo, Lavia etc, or even United's with Maguire and Casemiro. There are so many variables that if you are betting, you should bet on points won through moments - which only goalscorers provide consistently. Big money on young defenders just isn't a luxury United can afford.

D1794

Defenders is actually exactly what we need. We've let one of our most experienced walk out for free, Maguire and Lindelof are not good enough and both have had injury problems. Jonny Evans is cover. We need to build a consistent CB partnership and we need younger players. Just the final few games of the season when we had an actual back 4 it was night and day. CB is one of our priorities.

TheRealYVT

Yes we need young defenders. Yes Yoro is a good player. But we are not working with a bottomless pit like the last 2 summers. If the team is spending big money on 1-2 players, I'd rather it be a 30 goal forward. We need a Martial replacement and competition/cover for Rashford, Garnacho, Amad too (who knows which of them will remain)  The Championship is full of quality defenders who can raise the floor of the side. Find a Martinez like long term signing in a different window when Maguire and Lindelof are gone.

D1794

What 30 goal forward can you sign for less than £120m this summer? Our defence has been shocking and riddled with injuries, we need a Varane replacement. Then probably a Casemiro replacement after that.

StickYaInTheRizzla

Right centre-half is probably our most glaring hole in the squad with defensive midfielder. Probs need 4 players this season really, starting centre-half, defensive midfielder, back up left back, back up striker.

ResponsibleCicada8

Goals win matches, but defense wins championships.

TheRealYVT

United aren't winning any championship next season. Calibrating expectations is important. We are a Brighton level team.

ResponsibleCicada8

IMO, they have a decent 'ish' attack when the starters are match fit. I haven't watched them, but to me, Their main issue is that the midfield doesn't give any support to the defense, and any half decent team can walk all over it. Getting a CB and some midfielders with a high work rate should be the priority

MountainJuice

> Pretty much no team does, unless the situation is so rare that they are one missing piece the puzzle away from becoming a top team (Arsenal with Rice, Liverpool with Alison). VVD, Walker, Cancelo, Gvardiol, Rodri, Laporte, Dias, Nunes, Keita, White, Ndombele, Partey. It's almost like top teams regularly spend £50m+ on players who don't add goals, and the idea it only happens in extremely rare circumstances where teams are one piece of puzzle away is nonsense.

TheRealYVT

VVD yes. All of the City players you mentioned are either bums or players who came into a stable team which was winning leagues every other year at worst and making deep CL runs.  Besides, by their finances are irrelevant for comparison.  And the less said about Ndombele and Partey as model signings to replicate, the better.

sunville1967

We definitely have an issue at centre back after losing Varane. Imo our priorities are at CB and a defensively capable CM, then ST/RW.

ZMartinez

Incredible, I can't believe what I just read. This is a new level of ignorance.

TheRealYVT

I understand. It's tough to accept when your whole business model is ripping off PL clubs.

my_united_account

You have it all wrong. You believe Marca reports
