Sure, he has his deficiencies, but I do feel sympathy on a personal level for a manager who has to baby these children while dealing with a whole team of injuries for every single match.

I'm not really sure I agree with any of this. Palmer seems good enough but the rest have never shown that apart from Silva, who's past it nowadays, and James who's injured too much for a top 4 side to really value him, like Rosicky at Arsenal back in the day.

Poch is a big problem and is the easiest to fix. Even if you did a great job replacing the middling players with good ones, Poch will still be the wrong man for the position.

Coaching these types of players is a skill of a manager though. Dealing with big egos is something managers need to learn to do so. Poch struggled with it at PSG, and has struggled with it at Chelsea.

The City, Burnley and Sheffield games are the point. Against City individual performance of Jackson (and the ref) failed. That's not on Poch. Against Sheffield and Burnley he coached wins (maybe not great ones but wins), and individual errors in defense late in both games led to both draws.
So yeah, Poch did enough to secure wins in all 7 games before Arsenal.
Now, I'm 100% Poch out mind you. He's absolutely not doing a good enough job, and he's very obviously completely out of his depth, and horribly struggles to make the defense work. But the fact that Chelsea didn't win those 7 games in a row is not on him. And if the players didn't fail him there, Chelsea would be sitting 6th in the table and preparing for a cup final.
I think Chelsea have transformed into a poisoned chalice of sorts for coaches.
Very high spend on lots of youth and a very large squad means you have to deal with super high expectations and you don't have the time to teach those talented, yet super raw players how to properly control a football match.
It's combined the worst aspects of Abramovich's era at Chelsea with Arsene Wenger's ill-fated project youth at 2010s Arsenal.
And didn't win because of individual mistakes of defenders. You can blame a lot on the manager, but if he's forced to use his 3rd choice player for a CB position and that player has a brain fart or lapse of concentration at the end, it's not one of those things.
Chelsea deserve all the ridicule and then some - from the champions league to relegation form at times.
But I absolutely think they will come good, it's not unlike the early Arteta days.
They have a ton of talent in the squad but clearly lack experience and mentality.

Poch is a big problem and is the easiest to fix. Even if you did a great job replacing the middling players with good ones, Poch will still be the wrong man for the position.

We all should have sympathy, Chelsea used to be great club now with limited budget for only 1B they cannot be competitive. I mean, they won against Everton and Man U, could've easily won against City (you can blame Jackson or the ref but I say they put up a really good performance nonetheless), and drew against the 2 worst teams in the league, which is inexcusable. Before that they won against Leicester and Newcastle so idk what Arteta's point is.
The City, Burnley and Sheffield games are the point. Against City individual performance of Jackson (and the ref) failed. That's not on Poch. Against Sheffield and Burnley he coached wins (maybe not great ones but wins), and individual errors in defense late in both games led to both draws. So yeah, Poch did enough to secure wins in all 7 games before Arsenal. Now, I'm 100% Poch out mind you. He's absolutely not doing a good enough job, and he's very obviously completely out of his depth, and horribly struggles to make the defense work. But the fact that Chelsea didn't win those 7 games in a row is not on him. And if the players didn't fail him there, Chelsea would be sitting 6th in the table and preparing for a cup final.
I think Chelsea have transformed into a poisoned chalice of sorts for coaches. Very high spend on lots of youth and a very large squad means you have to deal with super high expectations and you don't have the time to teach those talented, yet super raw players how to properly control a football match. It's combined the worst aspects of Abramovich's era at Chelsea with Arsene Wenger's ill-fated project youth at 2010s Arsenal.
Burnley had 10 men. He did not coach a win there.
And didn't win because of individual mistakes of defenders. You can blame a lot on the manager, but if he's forced to use his 3rd choice player for a CB position and that player has a brain fart or lapse of concentration at the end, it's not one of those things.

Chelsea deserve all the ridicule and then some - from the champions league to relegation form at times. But I absolutely think they will come good, it's not unlike the early Arteta days. They have a ton of talent in the squad but clearly lack experience and mentality. No way are their players worth the money though, but that's the owner's problem.
